We spent the first two weeks of June at Villa Nova and had a very pleasant stay. The location was perfect, both in that it was centrally located for exploring Provence and, although in a quiet, secure location, within walking distance of the center of town. St. Remy is a beautiful town with lots of cute shops, restaurants and a great market on Wednesday which was just down the street from the house.
It was a big advantage having a reserved parking space within a secure, gated community. It was nice to have the terrace for outdoor dining. The kitchen was well equipped, beds were comfortable and the living room was a nice space to relax.
Julie was extremely helpful and pleasant and even called to let us know that the bulls would be running in the street in town one particular evening, a fun event we would otherwise have missed. She followed up to make sure we had everything we needed and was always available if we needed anything.
We had dinner our last night at l'Aille ou la Cuisse and enjoyed the good food and nice ambiance there. A definite must see is Les Baux, just south of St. Remy. Besides the ancient hillside fortress we were stunned by the Carrieres de Lumieres sound and light show, an experience we will never forget (we actually saw it twice).
Overall a great base for our Provence vacation!
