Weekend trip

Good location and clean. Furniture and kitchen/bath supplies a little sparse. Building is old and elevator didn't work, on the 5th floor. Great to walk around New Haven and close to a bus stop.

Locked out, no WiFi, no wine

We have stayed at many VRBO places and I have never given a bad review, but this is the first. When we arrived the key code to the bldg was wrong. We only got in because another resident happened to share with us the new code as she was leaving. I contacted the host, but no reply for 5 hours! The unit itself was nice, except it was dirty, with broken blinds. The WiFi info was completely wrong as well. When the host said use the WiFi info on the router, that logged us in… but still the internet did not work. Finally the listing featured a free bottle of wine. But there was no wine. Trust me… stay away!

Not good

I had to call the property manager upon arrival which was 90 minutes after allowed checkin because the apartment hadn't been cleaned. There were wet towels on the bathroom floor.and the beds hadn't been changed or made. The shower window shade got stuck in a raised position. When I contacted host, they stated that the shades did not have string pulls (but they did). Some shade slats were partly broken off. The TV had some broken pixels causing partial blackout of faces. There was a bottle of wine provided, as promised, and one wine glass. The wifi wasn't working because it hadn't been set to the username and password provided. We had to enter the network name on the router to all devices we used. Lots of traffic noise despite being 5 floors up. I've asked for a partial refund because of needing to exit the apartment to allow the cleaners in but so far haven't heard anything. I'd never stay here again.
