"Happy Days" is a quaint studio apartment with a retro feel (800 square feet of living space) with an open floor plan and a private entrance with no steps. The studio floor plan has a king and queen size beds, full size bathroom with a shower, fully furnished kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, utensils and dishwasher, and a coffee station with all the amenities.

The studio has a living room/dining room combination equipped with a large leather sofa, an old barber style chair, and a comfy chair to sit back to watch television on a 65 inch flat screen. There is also a small gaming table that seats 4 for those fun nights of board games and cards. The dining table seats 4 but a leaf can be added for additional seating.

The studio has a covered front porch with seating. In addition, there is an uncovered patio with fire pit and seating for up to 8 guests.

We had a great time staying at Laurie's. she is so friendly and responsive. The unit is a converted garage. I recommend a pair of slippers and an eye mask if early morning light wakes you up.

This was our second time staying at the adorable studio. We love the location to all the restaurants and shops on Beach Blvd. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The studio is fun, decorated well, very roomy, super clean and well stocked. The host, Laurie, is very easy going and so awesome with communication. I’m most positive we will be back again as this place, the location and the host just can’t be beat!

WONDERFUL!!!!!

My daughter and I stayed here for a mother daughter trip. This little treasure was wonderful. The host are the greatest!!!! Definitely recommend! We will be going back for sure.

So much to see!!!

This little gem was just perfect. We loved everything about it. There was so much thought put into it and everything flowed so perfectly. Thank you to Laurie and her sweet mom, they were an absolute pleasure to deal with. A must see.

Love this place!

The studio was absolutely perfect for my husband and I. Lots of room, fully stocked with everything you need and more! Perfect location to Beach Boulevard and the entire old Bay area. We rented a golf cart which was a wonderful way to get around. We met the host, Laurie, who was so very helpful with giving restaurant recommendations and a tour of the studio. She was very hospitable and welcoming. What an absolute joy it was to stay here!

Great weekend getaway.

The rental is absolutely adorable and uniquely decorated. Laurie was a fabulous host! She even gave my daughter and I games to play during a rainy afternoon. We will definitely be back soon!

Great Place to stay!

We had a great visit for New Year’s Eve. The studio is super clean and had all necessities. It’s close to town and many shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay again! Laurie and her mom were very nice and accommodating!

What a Gem!!

Our stay was during Cruisin the Coast. It was a perfect location. Just an easy stroll to town for dining and night life. I would say about a mile each way. The rental was very clean and a true experience. We both loved the arcade games that are available to play. We had everything we need as far as amenities. The outdoor space was neat and had plenty of seating. We have no complaints. Laurie was a great host. Prior to booking, she was attentive and answered all my questions.

Great place for a great weekend

This studio is SO perfect! It has everything you need. Laurie has thought of all the extra provisions you may need and is so kind. The entire property is pure entertainment to your eyes and artistic senses. The arcade games were an added bonus that take you back to childhood…and awaken your inner childhood competitiveness. The bars and restaurants are a quick 15 minute walk or short drive. Once you’re done with that, you can come back and relax in a fully stocked home away from home with an awesome host steps away, if needed. We were pleasantly surprised by all this studio had to offer! Don’t miss this one!

Perfect for me!

As a big fan of all this mid-century modern, of ecclectic and unique collections and of the color red..,this studio was built for me! It’s sensory overload in a fun way. There’s lots of outdoor spots to find quiet space for reading or just escaping from everything. owners/manger lives onsite and is very welcoming! It’s 4 blocks from the bay (2 of the blocks are long) but a quiet and relaxing walk or very quick drive. I’m planning a return visit.

Loved it! Very colorful, vibrant and unique. Tons of history. All the amenities. Beds were great! Close enough to walk to the main strip, far enough away you do not hear the business of the strip. Owner and manager were very accommodating and friendly.

Love! Love! Love!

We had such a great stay! Highly recommend this studio. The location is right on Main Street and it’s quiet and beautiful at night. Laurie is a great host and met us and gave us a “tour” of the studio so that our stay will be perfect. As soon as we walked in my brain exploded! As an artist I loved everything in this studio. And as the days went by I always saw something new that blew my mind. I’ve picked up a couple of ideas for my art! Highly recommend this studio and this will be my go to place for the gulf coast.

Birthday/Art in the Pass

My husband and I wanted a place in the Bay to stay for my birthday weekend as he had a booth at Art in the Pass selling his oil paintings! We saw this place and it looked so fun and eclectic and right on Main Street! It did not disappoint! We enjoyed our evenings having wine in the beautiful gardens, playing arcade games, watching movies and admiring all of the artistic touches of Laurie’s place! Truly an amazing and whimsical place! And all of the NOLA touches were great! I even had my parents and sister stop by to check it out! And it had everything we needed for our weekend away(just an hour away but felt like vaca). Would love to go back!!

Laurie Dunn is a retired visual art school teacher who moved to this area to care for her aging parents and to continue working on and selling her art pieces. The community in this area captured my heart because of the beautiful sites and artsy feel. Also, it is close to downtown where all activities take place... restaurants, Crab festival, Cursing the Coast, Fridia festival, Pirates night just to list a few. This property makes you feel very homey and takes you back in history. Everything my parents have tell a story about them or about their family. The studio is filled with many memorabilia.
