I did a lot of searching for a reasonably priced place to stay on the lake, and thought we got really lucky when I found Living Waters. Bethany was always very prompt, knowledgeable, and accommodating. She even contacted the owners, and they bent the rules for us…and allowed us to bring our dogs…so long as they were quiet and on leashes. We really appreciated that. Overall, the weekend was nice…probably would have been much better if the weather had been better, but we couldn’t do anything about that. We were disappointed in the “comfort” of the Sunset Deck. The kitchen table & chairs, as well as barstools were TINY...and I’m glad we didn’t end up with 8 adults as originally planned. Six was more than enough for that house. Especially with two of us sleeping in the boat beds. We felt like the kitchen was dirty. And the fact that there were only 4 coffee mugs and 4 bowls, was a bit inconvenient. We would have liked to be able to spend the evenings outside, but the bugs were so bad…we tried not to even open the doors, because if we did…we would have about 30 small bugs fly in each time. We were also disappointed that there wasn’t even a view of the lake…after all, that is why we come to Lake Travis. Lastly, the Floating Cabin was very disappointing. The cabin was largely what sold us on the property, we were told that the cabin had space for our boat. What we were unaware of until arrival, was that the “space” she spoke of meant we could tie up to the back of the cabin….not a boat slip. And the cabin was FILFTHY. Spider webs everywhere & poop on the deck…just not very appealing. The winery up the street was nice and we did enjoy it. We had a good time with friends, but were expecting something very different than what we got.
