Lisa's Ventura Getaway

Lisa is a SUPER-host. Her home was immaculate for starters. Coming from South Carolina, the views were beyond expectations. The Rooftop was mind-blowing and to wake up to that each morning was breath taking. She provides you with all the essentials as well and makes you feel right at home while on vacation! 10 out of 5 stars!

Great home!

This property and the owner were great! The home is located in a perfect location in Ventura where it is a few minute drive to town and the beach. Views from the roof top deck are incredible. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need. The kitchen/living room/dining room are all on the main floor and it is plenty of space for a large family. The master bedroom is upstairs and then the other two bedrooms downstairs, which worked great for the separation for our group. I believe the home looks better in person then the photos of the listing!

Ventura Vacation

Beautiful home with awesome views. Very spacious and well-equipped with everything we needed and a bathroom for every bedroom. We especially enjoyed the rooftop deck. Great stay and a great town!

Perfect, relaxing get-away!

Our son’s wedding was in the area & we found this fabulous home. Easily sleeps 6, but we only had 4. Spacious enough for 3 couples to share & be comfortable. Plenty of serve ware for a family brunch the Sunday after the wedding. The weather was beautiful so we were able to enjoy the rooftop deck. Would love to stay here again!

We have enjoyed your house so very much.

Thank you for thinking of everything and making it so comfortable. We had an amazing Thanksgiving holiday and dinner in your home and found everything we needed and more to make a perfect holiday meal in your beautiful gourmet kitchen. The double ovens and Viking range and all the fun dishes and serving pieces made it a treat! The living area is so spacious and fun. And then off to the o-so-comfortable beds and bedrooms... and the master is luxurious and made every night heaven! And then sunrise on the deck and happy hours too.... the decks are amazing and the furniture so much appreciated.... and then the views are Gods special treat. The house is amazing and Lisa was an awesome host and very attentive. Would have loved the outdoor fire table but Lisa assured that would soon be fixed. Thank you so much for a perfect stay for our family of 5!

Beautiful Home! The Perfect Vacation Retreat for Our Family.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was the perfect place for our family to vacation while our daughter was in a softball tournament in Camarillo for the week. The house was immaculately clean and exceeded every expectation. While the online images are lovely, being there in person was so much better. There were three adults and two children (ages 10 and 12) in our party and the house provided more than enough room for us to all spread out and relax. The three decks provided plenty of views of Ventura and the ocean. It's a short drive to Santa Barbara (~40 minutes) and Ventura has plenty of great restaurants, beaches and sights. The owner was so accomodating and made us feel at ease and right at home. A wonderful experience!

Lovely well-appointed home with all the extras

My mother and I wanted to stay in a home, while visiting the area. This custom-built home is beautiful, well-appointed in a beach theme, and stocked with all the extras you could possibly need. The three decks allowed us different views of sunrise, sunset and all hours in between. The kitchen is well-stocked with supplies needed to cook meals. The beds were comfortable. The homeowner was responsive to my many questions, prior to booking. We were very comfortable and felt safe, in this nice ocean-view neighborhood. I walked the neighborhood daily and discovered a lovely botanical garden with the original cross from the nearby mission, thanks to a suggestion from the owner. There are plenty of eating options nearby and lots of things to do in the area. Visiting the nearby Mission and Presidential Library was a highlight of the trip for me. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us!

Amazing Property Exceeding All Expecations

FABULOUS with a capital 'F' The property was amazing. We arrived in Ventura from Australia to a house that had an amazing feel and facilities and the most spectacular view. A true home away from home with all the trimmings. The property exceeded all expectations. We came to Ventura for a family wedding. The roof top deck with its BBQ facilities provided a special spot were we got to know our new in-laws over great food, fabulous wine, amazing company as we watched the sun set over Ventura. It was really special. The property is in great location as its only a short drive and nice walk down into the heart of Ventura. It was truly comfortable place for our family to chill and hang out for the 9 nights we were there. I would definitely recommend this property for others wanting a truly special experience and should our family return to Ventura would book the property again. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating. 5 stars all round. Regards Edwina & Family

What an amazing first experience in using Homeaway! This is our first time ever using this type of service and we were completely blown away. Our son started college in Santa Barbara and we wanted to stay at a place somewhat midway between Santa Barbara and LA. Ventura was the perfect location. This property did not disappoint in the least. The pictures on this site as great as they are does not do any justice to the live experience. This home truly felt like "home away from home". The amenities are amazing, the house is well appointed and comfortable, and the views are incredible. Our busy schedule with getting our oldest acclimated in his college prevented us from using the grill and a few other amenities - this is our only regret. If you love to cook like we do, you will absolutely love the huge viking stove and the "amazing" kitchen. The kitchen has any and everything you would ever need. The views from the master bedroom are amazing, especially laying in the bed at night looking at the skyline. We are a family of six and there was more than enough room to accommodate everyone and everyone's personal space. In addition, we just loved the spiritual ques all over the house both inside and out, which added a certain level of "extra" comfort during our stay. The neighborhood is quiet and the town of Ventura is very nice as well and has a pretty vibrant nightlife. The week we were there was the annual fair and the position of the house provided the most amazing views of the fireworks at the closing of the event. This was a fabulous additional bonus. As stressful an emotional an experience it is to be dropping off your first child at college 3000 miles away, we would like to think that the peace and comfort provided by this property allowed us to put all of that aside and just "be". This is an experience that we don't mind repeating if ever we are in Ventura in the future. Many thanks to Lisa for meeting our every need during our stay and thanks for opening your home to us. Wow - what a tremendous place

We had a GREAT time at this place. It's nestled near the top of the hills overlooking Ventura. Other reviews rave about the views and they don't disappoint! Rooftop terrace with BBQ and great furniture make it an ideal place to hang out, but so is the deck on the first level or the family room area! Master bedroom is first class - massive room, bathtub and shower that made me think of a 5 star hotel. In addition a large walk-in closet and overall top shelf appearance. We we there with three teenagers and the two girls stayed in the twin and the boy in his own room - all had their own bathrooms which is a plus. Kitchen was set for a gourmet chef and since we like to cook we used the Viking range and ample space to create some fun meals! Highly recommend this place as a great So-Cal getaway.

Gorgeous!!!

Our family stayed over Thanksgiving week 2015 and couldn't have been happier with the home. It is simply gorgeous and perfect for entertaining. Everything was in perfect order when we arrived and we couldn't believe we were going to stay for the whole week. The roof top deck was a major hit with family and friends who vistied and we lucked out with such great weather to be able to enjoy it the whole week. We will definitely be looking for any excuse to rent this home again. The owner makes it so easy, all you have to do is sit back and relax!!

Late summer getaway

The photos only give you a brief glimpse, the real view is breathtaking. Our stay was wonderful. My family has always gathered in the kitchen no matter the size. We not only were able to prepare gourmet meals but those waiting to eat could keep the cooks company while they were cooking. The layout allowed our family to visit while cooking, watching TV or working on a puzzle but it also allowed for a sleepy head to sneek off for a quick cat nap. The afternoons on the deck, even with a few clouds in the sky, made you feel like you were at a five star resort.

Home is beautiful, views are spectacular

Wife and I spent the week in Ventura. Found this gem of a home while looking to find a place to stay. Viking 6 burner gas cook top, Granite, Views from every room. Weather is tough to beat. 4.5 / 5 would there be this rating category (gotta leave room for the perfect 10) but honestly this place is on the hill, roof deck top is where the stairs lead you to BBQ (views are 180 degrees of ocean and city night lights. Would stay there again for sure.

AMAZING Home With Spectacular Views at a Very Affordable Rate

Our little family of 3 just returned from our vacation from Lisa's amazing Ventura hillside home, and we can't get over how lucky we were. From start to finish, the whole experience was just about as good as it can get. Lisa was very helpful and welcoming on emails when we were deciding where to book. I had trouble understanding how a 3,330sf+ home could be as affordable as a tiny shack on the beach, but she assured me that was the correct rate. Lisa was out of town for our dates, so she had her partner Maureen look after us during our stay, and she could not have been accommodating as well. The house was truly too much for a husband, wife, and a 2.5 year old. It's so beautifully thought out, with an open floor plan and rooms on 3 separate levels. It was tastefully decorated and well stocked. Our biggest problem was keeping track of our little gremlin because the house was so big and there were so many nooks and crannies for him to explore. Thoughtfully, Lisa called us in advance and expressed that the house wasn't exactly childproofed. But with a few adjustments and hiding a few reachable items, we had no problems at all. Owen loved exploring the yard and playing with all his trucks on the porch with just about the most amazing view you could imagine, until you go on the roof deck and see it gets even better. Seriously, you can basically see the entire coast from Emma Wood down to Silver Strand from this viewpoint, and the city lights look so beautiful at night as well. We didn't use them, but there are barbecues and fire pit tables on various levels that would be perfect for entertaining. But we mostly kept to ourselves and enjoyed the abundance of space. Oh, and the master bedroom is ridiculous: giant bed; fireplace: huge vanity; a tub so big we couldn't let Owen sit it by himself or he'd drown; the world's biggest double-shower that let all three of us get in at the same time and you could even towel off in the corner and not get wet while still IN the shower; and a walk-in closet that you could rent for about $1,400/month in San Francisco it's so big. It's not just the size; everything was just really, really nice. It's a beautiful, quiet part of town with spectacular views, but then you're literally about 1.5 minutes from downtown where all the action is, and about 5 minutes from the beach. It's just a great place overall with good, kind people looking after it. The neighbors are all nice, too. So, go there and enjoy yourselves!

Couldn't be better!

We have been renting through VRBO in Ventura for the past four years. This was the first time renting this particular house. The pictures, as someone else said, do not do it justice. Every attention to detail is there: the pantry is stocked, the house is immaculate and beautifully decorated, the views are spectacular. It is central to everything in Ventura. Above all, the owner is highly responsive. We are returning to rent it next year.

This is a 5 star residence

The pictures, which are accurate, do not do the residence justice. Upon entering, one is greeted by a baby grand piano. The living room is most spacious and the kitchen is large and very well equipped (it saves a trip to Trader Joe's). Every kitchen appliance is available, the pantry well stocked. The dining area is inviting and can seat eight easily. The master bedroom is also very spacious as is the bath area. The closet space and drawers will accommodate all your clothing. The bedrooms below are of excellent quality, each with a separate bath. A real plus for the Ventura hills is the over sized two car garage, with a drive way for an additional cars. We will return... This is a must!
