Would be a nice house if they cared to remodel and not money grab guests
In town for son's BMT graduation had a late flight arrival (approx 1130 pm) and smoke alarms were loudly chirping upon check in. I called the host who audibly heard the alarms chirping. Had to go to the store to purchase batteries at midnight just to get sleep as we had to be on base very early. Host offered no reimbursement or any consideration. Discovered cracked coffee pot on second morning of stay but was rushing to get to graduation parade so I forgot to inform host (100% my mistake). They later charged me 50 for a new carafe in an insane money grab as I never even used the coffee maker. Place was decent but there were dead bugs and mosquitos in the room with bunk beds and beds were "repaired" with duct tape. Likely unsafe for anyone to climb on top bunk! Uneven walls, floors and doors that don't close properly point to obvious structural issues with this home. Flat top stove had huge crack on the corner that seemed to previously be repaired but stove functioned fine. Refrigerator and freezer set at dangerously high temperatures, water bottles placed in freezer overnight did NOT freeze. It appears that they tried to cheaply make repairs for several blemishes in the house or stick the guests with fees for things they knew were broken. No integrity from this host. Would not recommend to military families or anyone else for that matter. Far from serenity!
