The home is nestled on 3.5 acres overlooking Chickawaukie Pond. It offers 5 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and almost 4,000 square feet of living space to spread out and relax with friends or family. Enjoy fishing and swimming in Chickawaukie Pond right across the street. Close to the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse, Owls Head State Park, and Birch Point State Park with beautiful sandy beaches. Excellent home for our family get together. Just a few mins from Camden and Rockport and a beautiful fall drive (1hr) to Colby for family weekend. Clean and spacious and the beds were very comfortable.

This is a beautiful secluded home just outside of town. There was plenty of room for everyone (there were 8 of us) for us to not be on top of each other. We loved our stay and highly recommend this home.

Beautiful, large home perfect for a larger-group / family getaway. Very clean and beautiful property. And the host, Nathaniel, is very responsive, friendly, and super reasonable when special asks come up (I had a few). There is a lake across the street which is great for views through the trees. It's a rocky shore, not a beach across the street. "Into town" is definitely a short drive not a walk. But if you are looking for a beautiful, clean place with pretty wooded/lake views that can EASILY sleep 8 comfortably (and I'm not even counting the bunk bed room), and offer you very nearby car access to Camden, Rockland and Rockport, you should definitely go here. I was pleasantly surprised by the price too, especially since we stayed there in high season for tourism. Our extended family had a great experience there.

Cabin Weekend

A girls weekend in Maine at a lovely house. The space was exactly what we needed, homey, cozy, and comfy. There was plenty of room to play games together, or spend some time by ourselves. Amenities were excellent and the kids play room was so cute and well liked by the kiddos!!

The good first!! The kitchen and great room were very accommodating, as the playroom! We have a 3 and 5 year old! They spent lots of time in there!The Bad! Bathrooms were not supplied with essentials: soaps, shampoo, lotions, etc!! The lower level bedroom had a small 3 drawer dresser, and could sleep 6 people! The downstairs smelled very musty and dark hallway could use better lighting! The last step before landing from main floor to basement should have tape, as I fell and broke the fall, but got a bruised elbow! More moveable lights in great room! Difficult to do puzzles on the coffee table at night!Very surprised the top level bedroom didn’t have a bathroom, otherwise it was a cozy room!Difficult getting out of driveway onto very busy highway! Luckily we made it

We had a large family that stayed at the house during my daughter's wedding weekend. The location, size, layout, everything about the house was perfection. We loved the open living room, dining room, and kitchen as well as the deck. The beds and bedding were so comfortable. We asked several questions prior to our arrival and received prompt responses. We had an amazing time.

Excellent

I had a bad experience with another house in Camden, but the Gorgeous House was wonderful. There was plenty of room for a family of twelve to move around in. I would highly recommend this to friends and family.

Family weekend getaway

The property accommodated our family of 11 just as we’d hoped. The open floor plan was perfect for all to be together but space enough to do separate activities. The littles loved the play room! Close to many activities and restaurants. A beautiful view of the lake. Nathan was very responsive and accommodating. We had a wonderful stay; highly recommend this property.

Great space

The Kitchen & living area on the second level was very well equipped and comfortable. The adjacent playroom for the kids was great. The bunkbeds were on the ground floor and the other bedrooms on 2nd and 3rd levels. The air conditioning also worked very well. The location was perfect

We were five adults from two generations and had plenty of room to spread out and also to gather. Think "big beach house." The house was clean and well equipped, and Nathaniel was very responsive, helpful with restaurant recommendations, etc. There is some road noise, but the house is set well back and up the hill from the road. The location is excellent for visiting Rockport, Rockland, Camden. All services very close. Access the beach at the public park at the south end of the lake.

Beautiful centrally located home

Nathaniel was super hospitable and easy to communicate with. The house was close to everything we wanted to do (Rockport/Rockland, Camden harbor and Mt. Battie, Pemaquid Beach, Damariscotta). Would definitely return! House is also stocked with tons of fun games and dominos and several TVs, a lofted office space, and very functional kitchen!

Wonderful stay - everything you need

We went on a girls trip and explored the coast of Maine for the first time with two 60 year olds, 3 women in their 20s/30s and 2 infants. This house was perfect and had everything we needed for babies. Lots of room for them to crawl. Super clean. Well stocked with games, cleaner, dishes. Great rental; will definitely recommend to friends!

Lovely Home in a Fantastic Location

The home is absolutely beautiful! We really enjoyed all the light in the morning. The accommodations are very comfortable - plenty of linens and towels (love that it was included!). We have enjoyed mid-coast Maine many times and this location was perfect for slipping into Camden or Rockland for dinner/breakfast. We took day trips to Pemiquid and Marshall Point and even Monhegan Island. The house was perfect for having a lobster bake (tip - get the lobster pre-steamed at Hannaford). Many wonderful memories made at this lovely home!

Family Gathering

Suggestions for the property: Replace mattresses in rooms 2,3&4; clean gas grill & kitchen oven; attenuate road noise into master bedroom; schedule lawn service for Saturday after checkout vs 0745am during stay. Add a note in the listing: Access to the lake is very difficult given the "road" in front of the property is a major road and heavily traveled.

Thank you for all of your suggestions Chris! We are so glad to hear that your family had a great time at our home and thoroughly enjoyed the mid-coast area. All of the mattresses in our home are less than two years old and most of them haven’t been used more that a total of six months yet, but we completely understand that everyone prefers different types of mattresses. We try to have our guests clean the grill plates and oven well after using them, but sometimes that does not happen. The grill plates have been replaced every year to keep from having any issues, but we will remind our cleaning staff to double check them for us. Unfortunately we are unable to schedule the lawn service for different days every week as our guests check in and out at different days every week and with the beautiful weather we have to make sure the lawn is cut every week during the summer. Thankfully they are usually in and out in less than 30 minutes with their awesome team! And you are correct, as we communicated prior to your stay and in the listing, we do not have direct lake access across the street. Although our home has an amazing view, it is located off of a busy road. Fortunately the lake access and beautiful swimming area is less than two minutes down the road! Thanks again for staying at our home!

Lake Chicawaukee Cottage

Upon entering this beautiful property I noticed how clean and organized the property was kept.It is very well appointed and offers all you need for a comfortable stay. We were a family of ten and it accommodated us all well with bedrooms and baths. We enjoyed the solo stove most evenings and the gas fire pit on the back patio as well. The kids play area for our two year old grandson was a big hit. The beamed ceilings and extensive wood work created a lovely setting for this home. The property is set up high and back from the main road which was good since the road can get busy. We loved our stay. Each drive to Camden and Rockland. We did enjoy using the owners paddle board at Lake Chicauwkee

Needs some basics

Overall, it’s a nice spot but it’s in desperate need of that home away from home feel. For instance, there was no left over oils or spices or anything along that line, so ones forced to go purchase the basics. Be nice if the kitchen had a serving platter and more than one dish towel. The wine glasses are plastic. Just be nice if there was more thought put towards these areas to help one feel more at home while away. Folks cook in these VRBO spots. Helping us out a little with basic supplies is always really really appreciated. Towels. Need more than one towel per person. Some bath soap again would be helpful. Basics that really don’t cost that much can sure help one feel more comfortable.Owner was responsive and seemed to be a good guy.
