Wonderful Stay!

My friends and I had an amazing stay here. Quiet neighborhood, great location just a few blocks from Congress street, and the house itself fit everything we were looking for. Would come back here the next time we make our way to Austin.

This was perfect for our group of women, aged 35-65. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Perfect location for walking to south congress and easy access to other areas of Austin.

Great House, Great Location

The house was great and had plenty of room for 4 guys. It offered easy access to South Congress and a short drive into downtown. Looking forward to staying there again.

Comfortable, spacious house for 8 friends to share

We picked this place for its proximity to S. Congress St. so that we could walk to restaurants/shopping/music. It worked well for our group of 8 women. Fire pit area was nice to happy hours.

Attractive house close to great restaurants

Our family visit to Austin was made more enjoyable by having a clean, welcoming place to stay. The neighborhood was quiet and safe and easy walking distance to the busy South Congress area. Having 4 bathrooms was definitely a plus for 10 guests. The house could use a little maintenance on the shower stalls but it was manageable. The property manager was very responsive and courteous.

Great home in a great location!

This house was perfect for our group of college friends for a long weekend in Austin. The location is great for accessing all different parts of the city and the house is very comfortable and well-appointed with good common spaces (indoor and outdoor) for hanging out and catching up.

Long weekend in Austin

This house was perfect for our weekend in Austin. Plenty of room and the house is well equipped with everything you need to feel like home. We really enjoyed our stay here and the check out process was very easy. Would highly recommend Luxury Walker Rentals in the future.

The house generally matched the listing, and the location is excellent. However, our experience with the management company significantly impacted our stay.Before arrival, we were required to sign an additional contract. While I understand protecting a property, I expected customer support in return. What we got was not even a basic support. When we arrived, the house-wide smoke detector system was going off intermittently, then continuously. The response from management was dismissive — the issue was minimized, and we were asked to change batteries ourselves despite alarms throughout the house and noise severe enough to make the home unusable.Maintenance took over 3 hours to arrive. By then, the alarms had stopped. The technician changed some batteries and left. At 12:30am, the alarms started again. No one answered the emergency number, so we called the fire department. They identified and removed the faulty detector and informed us the smoke detectors were over 20 years old and overdue for replacement.Separately, the Wi-Fi did not work, and there were loose tiles in the upstairs bathroom.Problems can happen in any rental. The issue was how they were handled. We were left to troubleshoot and manage serious problems ourselves, and the customer support did not meet expectations. When I later requested a refund, I was asked to sign a non-disparagement agreement first, which reinforced the sense that protecting the company mattered more than resolving guest concerns.

Thank you for the honest feedback. You are right, and we want to own that publicly. The smoke detector situation was mishandled. A house-wide alarm going off continuously is not a guest problem to troubleshoot, and you should never have been left to call the fire department at 12:30am. The detectors have since been fully replaced. Sending a non-disparagement agreement in response to a complaint was also the wrong call. The timing made it feel like we cared more about our reputation than your experience. That is not who we are as a small, family-owned company, and we have taken a hard look at how that process works. You deserved better. We are grateful for the feedback even knowing it came at a real cost to your trip.
