Location, Design, Comfort
This sleek, completely updated condo is one of the best outfitted units I've visited anywhere. The host has considered every detail. The kitchen is stocked with loads of glassware, dishes, flatware, cookware, etc. Abundant basics like coffee, toilet paper, dishwashing pods, laundry pods, shampoo/conditioner, etc. are supplied. And you're greeted with a lovely welcome basket and bottle of wine. The unit has considerable storage, including a ski rack, drawers and closet space for days, and a large pantry. There's even a ski boot dryer. All appliances are new and in good working order. The manager, Karla, is extremely responsive, both before and during your stay. You can't beat the location - steps from the Aspen gondola, opposite the grocery store, two blocks from the buses that connect the four AspenSnowmass ski areas and easy walking distance to Aspen's dining, nightlife and shopping. The condo's ONLY drawback is a significant lack of windows/natural light. It's situated on an alley and has only two windows. While the design is maximized to infuse light and the feeling of light - including tons of overhead lighting (with nearly every light on dimmers), and artwork that invokes brightness - renters will miss natural light. It's not a dealbreaker because you'd never describe this unit as dark due to the copious lighting, but you will long for sunshine and snow views. However, the location, design and creature comforts make this a unit worth renting.
