beautiful restored old house
the place is restored 1931 house. a lot of care went into getting it fixed to the original "Japanese era" style. It's pretty much the same as the pictures. However, at the check in, we ran into a major snags. The listing shows 2 rooms/2 baths, but the proprietor only gave me ONE room of the 2 room listing, because he assumed all 4 of us could fit into a tiny room. That wasn't acceptable to us. We argued, and since the other room wasn't "rented" out, he gave in, and offered us access to both rooms. That was decent enough for him.However, we had to keep the other room "open" for his other clients in the second day afternoon for some photoshoots. Again, I agreed to that demand reluctantly. The manager is nice, and is trying to learn this hospitality business, BUT, the operation is not yet smooth. It can improve. The kitchen, living room are a little cluttered with personal items, but that's the nature of private rentals. It's not a hotel room.When I was there, I said yes to have the 3 cats in the house with us, since I adore cats. However, at the time of my stay, the cats were not neutered yet. The male cats pee'ed on the futon duvet/blanket cover, very typical male cats spraying behavior. We didn't get replacement duvet cover, because the incidence happened at 11:30pm. He probably didn't see the messages from me. We had to sleep in a very cold, old house without any insulation, and without cover for a night.Overall, the house delivers the ambience
