With its unsurpassed view of the Mississippi River, Clifton House underwent a total renovation in early 2017 to add modern touches and make every bedroom en suite. The décor authentically reflects the love the family has had for this home. When the first generation moved in, they brought period antiques, which were lovingly restored during the renovation. Each subsequent generation has added their own modern-day touches, making this guest house the truly gracious place it is today.

The view from Clifton House must be seen to be believed. It is the only operating guest house located on the Mississippi Bluff Walk, just steps away from a casino, and from the downtown area with its restaurants and retail.

​​​​​​Our Panorama Suite -- so named for its breathtaking panoramic view of the Mississippi River -- is located at the front of Clifton House's second story. The suite comprises a bedroom featuring antique half-tester queen bed with a comfortable custom mattress; a sitting room outfitted with beautiful, original-to-the-house antiques, and private en-suite bathroom with Carrara marble. There is also queen-sized sleeper sofa with a Tempur-Pedic™ mattress allowing this room to accommodate 4 pp.

Other amenities include cable TV and a mini fridge.

Our location also allows convenient access to all that Natchez has to offer... and is just steps to downtown shopping, restaurants, museums, parks, and Antebellum mansion tours along Natchez's world-famous "Bluff Path.”

​​​​​​Please note: There is no kitchen onsite. Guests have a private bed and bath, but must share the downstairs living room, dining room, and coffee maker. Guests MUST climb stairs to access the home their suite.

We really enjoyed our stay. Room was comfortable and clean. View of the MS River was great. We spent a lot of time on the front porch enjoying the weather and view. The porch seating is very comfortable. We would definitely stay again. Only draw back was that breakfast is not included.

Anniversary trip

My husband and I booked this trip for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We had always talked about staying at a bed and breakfast on the bluff. The Clifton house exceeded our expectations! The home is beautiful and the rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. We had originally planned on staying only two nights but we loved it so much we booked another two nights. The property manager was so kind and helpful because we had to switch from our original room (the Audobon suite) to our new room (the panorama suite). We will most definitely be back to the Clifton House!

What a view!

What a view this house offers. We so enjoyed our stay at Clifton House in Natchez. The view from the front porch is breathtaking. The home is beautiful and welcoming. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the Natchez area.

A lot of little things

We love the house and the location. But for the price a lot of little things could have been better. We had to call to get the wifi code because it had been changed. There was only one towel and one roll of TP. The room temp has to be changed by texting someone somewhere, so we woke up freezing and didn't feel like texting someone at 5am. Would it be too much to ask for cable TV and a clock for the bedroom. We will stay here again, but it would be nice if someone applied a little more TLC.

Front bedroom provides spectacular view of the Mississippi. You’ll never get tired of that view. As you sleep in the queen size bed the Mississippi is right there before you the tug boats, the river traffic. Makes it tough to get out of bed frankly. Room was clean efficient. Bathroom was large. Could not have been happier. Did I mention the view. Management is right there in town to help if necessary. They also suggested things to do. I would limit visits to famous milk shake stand where Little Richard worked to twice a day next time around. Frankly I can’t image going back and staying anywhere else than the Clifton house. One last thing, did I mention the view.

Great View!

Great View! No cable, no decaf coffee, no room clock. Air is controlled off site, and sounds a bit like a jet engine when it goes on. Cleaning fee is exorbitant.

The air conditioner was in high and we couldn't turn it down. The room was very cold and no way to change it. I did try to call to no avail. Painters were working on the house when we arrived and I was not notified in advance.
