De Boerderij - "The Farmhouse"

Welcome to De Boerderij, which means "The Farmhouse" in Dutch. This property has been in our family for over 80 years. Built by my grandfather and restored by my father and later updated by my wife and I, this is a space we have enjoyed and now want to share with you! The Farmhouse has everything you need for a family or friends quiet getaway. It is located on 41 acres of woods, with a few trails for hiking or skiing. There is no lake access, but the boat landing is 1 mile away. The nearest snowmobile trail is 1.5 miles away, which can take you to Longville, Remer, and Walker. Boy lake is 3300 acres, and has good fishing, and recreation. There are plenty of dining and shopping options in Walker, Longville, and Remer. There is plenty of parking for vehicles and trailers and plenty of room for maneuvering. There are so many outdoor activities to enjoy: fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ice fishing just to name a few! Try a river adventure down the Boy River, in your canoe or kayak.

The Farmhouse was perfect.

The farmhouse was more than we expected it to be. Very nice place out in the woods. Quiet and away from all the noise. Plenty of room inside and out.

The place was the best. Neat beautiful country setting. The host were very nice.

Stayed 3 nights and loved the country setting. Woke up to see deer and wild turkey's walking thru the yard. The place was clean and well maintained. I will stay there again. The only thing wrong was not enough time to stay longer.

Crafting getaway

Jim and Michele were fabulous hosts of their family’s farmhouse. The serenity was just what we girls needed to enjoy a peaceful time of crafting and connecting with each other. A hidden gem of a location!

Had a fireplace we did not have time to use. Slept 4 very comfortably. Spacious kitchen. Bright and airy. Nice deck.

Quiet and peaceful!

What a serene spot! The property was just as listed! We were here for just 2 overnights and spent the day in Walker. Great morning coffee on the deck, saw deer and turkeys … if you want a place to get away, this is it! Jim was great to work with and accommodating. Only problem we had was a VRBO/Google Maps issue — listen to Jim’s directions and map the exact address. The “get directions” option on VRBO took us to the area but not the place! Everything else was easy!

It was a lovely farmhouse, decorated with an eclectic mix of treasures. The kitchen is well stocked and the appliances worked great. They had air conditioners running so it was comfortable inside. The hosts were really nice and very helpful. Jim directed us to a near by town that was having an art fair. We had a great time walking around and browsing through some of the stores. Google maps sends you to the road just before the house, do not take that right. Just a little further down the house comes into view. We would absolutely enjoy staying there again.

My dad and I loved our stay at the farm. Peaceful and quiet. Had a momma deer and her fawns walk through the yard every morning. Plenty of boat parking with a hose and easy plug-in. Hopefully be back in the fall!

We stayed at the awesome place for a week. The house was very clean and we had everything we needed. Jim was great host. We are glad that we found this little place and will be looking at coming back to enjoy the peace and quiet.
