Beautiful views

The unit was warm and cozy. We arrived New Year's Day and I love that they left a Christmas tree up for us to enjoy during our stay. Everything was clean and charming.

We loved the house and the location! Only minutes away from all the Gatlinburg fun. It was perfect for us and our young adult daughters and their boyfriends, as everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom. The view of the mountains from the deck was amazing! Sitting in the hot tub and looking at the view was just what was needed for a relaxing weekend. The house was clean and well stocked with everything you need for meals. And we had a fantastic experience of waking up one morning to a mama Black Bear and her three cubs playing around in the front yard and climbing the trees. Coolest thing ever! I would definitely recommend this house to friends and family who make a trip to Gatlinburg. We had a great weekend!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Excellent place! Very nice. This is the perfect cabin because it has plenty of room. All three bedrooms are on different levels. Hot tub was very nice and we just enjoyed the whole overall stay. One thing is if you don't like the curvy "mountain " roads this one has a couple of pretty sharp turns in the way up. Also we had bears show up all three nights!

The cabin could use some updating in the kitchen and more seating in the main living area would be helpful. Our only other complaint would be the lackOf adequate lighting, especially in the kitchen. It was very hard to see when preparing meals. No other complaints.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was great for our family of 6! The layout of the house is ideal for sleeping arrangements because the bedrooms are spread out. We loved shooting pool and soaking in the hot tub at night. We saw a mama bear that came right through the front yard and several owls in the evening. The location of the cabin is close to everything. Very clean and the kitchen is well stocked. The only negative was there were several centipedes in the house.

Mountain Fun in Camelot

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time in Camelot chalet! We found it to be nicely updated/furnished and very comfortable for a family of six adults. The hot tub was large and worked great! It was a pretty easy drive up from Gatlinburg compared to other cabins we have rented in the past. Mountain Laurel is a great rental company. It was nice to be told if we needed anything in way of more supplies to just stop back in at the office. They switched out our propane tank for the grill while we were out for the day which was so helpful! We felt the floors could have been cleaner when we arrived but that was the only negative during our stay. We loved seeing bears every day (did not encourage them). Moonshine tastings, National Park hikes and Dollywood- there's nothing better! We hope to return soon.

Quiet Retreat

That being said, this is not a property for people with mobility issues. The interior steps are steep and the exterior steps are difficult, especially when carrying food, supplies, etc. The kitchen is well stocked and spacious. The hot tub was private and we could use it without clothes. (One must jiggle the box to the left of the glass doors to make it work.) It was also close to the park entrance without a scary drive and had an easy turn around and plenty of space for several cars. We missed having a view of LeConte, but knew that when booking. A great house for families with bedrooms on 3 floors.

The chalet had a few issues, but staff was literally immediately responsive and took care of things with a smile on their faces. I will mention stairs in the home are pretty steep, so be aware. The bedrooms are very small and the furniture could definitely use some updating, but those were just slight inconveniences. The kitchen was well-appointed and, of course, we had a resident bear who visited several times. One day he (she?) laid down below the deck and just looked at us. We felt like he was waiting for a handout, but eventually, when he saw nothing forthcoming, he moved on. Don’t feed the bears!We had a great time. The grandkids wanted to go to Florida this year, but they’ll be talking about this trip for a long time.Thanks, Mountain Laurel!

Charming hideaway

Two stone fireplaces, tongue and groove features throughout, quirky architecture, luxury beds, private baths all with attention to detail and charm. The kitchen is huge and flows right into living space. We were told the the outside and deck are the next project and that will take this over the top. For now it’s affordable, incredibly private and so comfortable for 3 couples. Everyone had their own floor. The office staff were so friendly and available to help. We ran out of propane which happens and we had a replacement within an hour. Having a local management company for us made the biggest difference. They were close and available. We’ve felt stranded with other rentals when owner lives out of town or the management company is in another state and you wait on hold for hours. Not with this group. And they even had some fun Gatlinburg merchandise in their office. We will definitely be coming back to Camelot and trying out other Mtn Laurel Chalets properties.

Has a seasonal view which worked out great for me this trip! Easy access to Ski Mountain Road! Mountain Laurel Chalets is the BEST management company around in my book! Approaching my 40 yr mark of doing business with MLC and would highly recommend them to anyone! They truly care about their guests. I am so happy and honored to be a part of the MLC Family!

Cozy and Calming

The location was convenient to Gatlinburg, the National Park, and many trails and horseback riding. The chalet was very clean and private. We did see a mama bear and her two babies as we headed down the road on our way to town one day. It was a beautiful surprise. I would absolutely stay at the Camelot again, but I do have a few suggestions. We enjoyed the fireplace in the evening. We used the fan on the main level to try and keep the rising heat from heating up the loft bedroom, but what that bedroom really needs is its own ceiling fan. We had to turn the heat down to 66 on the main level, which made it a bit cool for our daughter's room. Also, the loft bedroom could use a bench or something to (1) sit down on when putting on shoes and socks, (2) place a suitcase or bag on. Even some hooks on the bedroom walls or in the bathroom would be helpful to hang up clothes or jackets. Still worth a 5 star rating!

Problems: 1 stove burner needs to be fixed and kitchen table top needs to be refurbished. Also, if you are short, bring a step stool to get in the high beds!
