The Space:
This three-level vacation home is thoughtfully designed to cater to guests of all ages, providing comfort and entertainment throughout.

Ascend to the Top Level, where a generous great room awaits. Revel in the ambiance created by a TV/DVD setup, a warm gas fireplace, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a dining area accommodating up to 20 guests. Bask in the natural light and scenic views from the decking. This level also boasts an elegant bedroom with its own whirlpool tub, alongside an additional bedroom.

The house has a great location close to the beach and other activities and the host James was great the entire time coordinating but this house needs a lot of TLC. It has so much potential but the outside needs a good power wash there are like spider webs on each corner, mildew stained windows and brown stuff in the corners I can’t even explain. The bathrooms are pretty gross the bathrooms that have a plastic shower curtains have mildew and smells and the bathrooms that have a glass door have gross toilet seats. The kitchen is ok, the fridge is nice and new but the drawers are not clean and have a blender with no blades which wasn’t too surprising when we bought everything to make a frozen drink and couldn’t use the blender. To say the least we will not be returning.

OBX Family vacation

Large lot surrounded on 3 sides with trees and pines gave us lots of privacy but not much view. We’ve vacationed many times in OBX in a variety of locations but this area in Corolla was my favorite. Close to trails and shopping but the area is not too crowded. Also, the beach in this area is very nice for walking (flat and wide). The house itself has a nice layout, although noticeably used after the busy season. Definitely could use a deep cleaning and an overhaul on the kitchen appliances, utensills, pots and pans.

Outdated and dirty

Upon our arrival, we were immediately struck by the deplorable condition of the property's exterior. The perimeter of the home was cluttered with garbage, setting the tone for what would be a series of disappointing observations. The outdoor shower contained discarded dirty underwear, and the pool deck was littered with cigarette butts. I spent over an hour cleaning the pool deck myself.Inside the house, the air conditioning system was only functional on the top floor, leaving the rest of the home uncomfortably warm. The bathroom shower on the first floor was broken at the outset, though it was repaired three days into our stay. Additionally, the third-floor exterior staircase was obstructed by an overgrown tree, making it difficult and potentially hazardous to navigate the steps. The deck leading to the backyard, which provides access to the pool, was damaged and presented a significant safety risk. Several nails were protruding from the back deck, which I personally hammered back into place to prevent injury.The bunk beds on the first floor were of such poor quality that I refused to allow the children to use them. Similarly, the barbecue grill was nearly unusable—its burners were either clogged or so rusted that they were beyond functional repair. The outdoor furniture was in dire need of power washing, as was the entirety of the home's exterior.As someone who has vacationed in the Outer Banks for 13 years, I can confidently say that this was by far the worst experience.

Wedding weekend

Overall the house was accommodating for the needs of the weekend. Size of house held many family and friends for a wedding weekend. The house is lovely inside , very spacious. The exterior of the home needs love. We had to hose down the front entrance due to dirt, spider webs, etc Underneath the house were boxes for Adirondack chairs never opened and clearly needed around the pool. The pool area needs attention. Furniture painted, etc. a nice stay, and a beautiful home that needs some attention.

Excellent location / Some things need TLC

Communication with James the property manager was perfectly fine. He was always responsive when I texted so no issues at all with that. We arrived a little early in Corolla after a 12 hour drive. Check-in was at 4:00 but we decided to kill some time and go see the house. The cleaning crew arrived at approx 3:20 p.m. so we were a little skeptical of checking in at 4:00 as I mentioned, the house is big. 4:00 came and went and we were finally able to check-in around 4:45 p.m. Not a huge deal but it was unexpected. Again, the house is big and they had recently had some heavier rains come through so the outside of house looked a bit dirty. The inside of the house was fine with plenty of room. There were a few items that needed some attention (broken faucet in main kitchen) but nothing that was earth shattering. It was outside that was a little disappointing especially for the amount of money we paid for 8 days. The gas grill had leftover food still on the inside so we cleaned it out ourselves and were able to use it. The pool area was a mess. Kids toys everywhere, pool area chairs definitely need upgrading or cleaning, a cornhole set that was destroyed and just sitting in the corner that needed to be thrown away. Here is what I am getting at, for the amount of money that we all spend on these vacation houses, I would have just expected some attention to detail or, I may need to adjust my expectations. Location is prime.
