“FIRST LADY” — Lodge Room 206

Step into a space designed to celebrate grace, strength, and timeless charm. Each of our uniquely themed rooms offers a nostalgic touch paired with modern comfort, and the First Lady suite is no exception — an inviting retreat created to make every guest feel truly special.
Lodge Room 206 (Second Floor — No Pets Allowed) features a comfortable Queen-size bed, a full bathroom with tub/shower combination, and a private balcony overlooking Lydia Mountain's breathtaking landscape. A convenient kitchenette includes a microwave, mini refrigerator, and single-serve coffee maker, perfect for quiet mornings or late-night relaxation.
Greet the day with stunning over-the-mountain sunrise views from your balcony, then unwind beside the cozy wood-burning fireplace in the lodge's beautiful mezzanine. When hunger calls, simply head downstairs to Bearrr Appetit Restaurant for delicious dining paired with spectacular mountain vistas.
Inspired by the elegance and influence of America's First Ladies, this suite reflects the spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt's timeless words:
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
At Lydia Mountain Lodge, one of our dreams is to create a place where you can rest, recharge, and feel celebrated. The First Lady suite is thoughtfully designed to make you feel exactly as you are — strong, beautiful, and deserving of a truly memorable mountain escape.

Absolutely Fantastic Getaway

We stayed the night after Jeep Invasion. Not only was the staff friendly and helpful all day long, the location was gorgeous, the room wonderfully decorated and the rocking chairs on the back porch with that view was incredible. Also had dinner and brunch at the restaurant which also had great service and we highly recommend the brisket for dinner! We had the best time and are looking forward to staying at the lodge again soon!

A Hidden Gem in the Shenandoah

We just stumbled upon Lydia Mountain Lodge looking for a quiet retreat for New Year's Eve, but were pleasantly surprised that we did. Such a hidden gem in the Blue Ridge mountains. Clean, comfortable, warm, and rustic. We just stayed for a couple of nights in the middle of winter, but imagine it is even better in the warmer months. We enjoyed making a fire in the open hearth of the main room, the wonderful restaurant, and the New Year's Eve party. We will definitely be back to stay and recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet retreat in the Shenandoah.

Beautiful place

Lodging was five stars! Beautiful property and well maintained. I’m a Chef, for over 35 years, and I usually don’t critique, but the restaurant, fell short of my expectations. I ordered the brisket, highly disappointed! Did not expect, pulled brisket! Restaurant staff seemed to not be properly trained. Just my opinion! Thank you !!

great place to stay!!

This was such a cute place to stay! The room was very clean and the AC worked great - it’s exactly as pictured. Everyone is super friendly and they had great, fast help when needed. The balcony view is gorgeous and makes the stay even better. I highly recommend staying here, we had a great time!
