Cabin #7 - Snuggle Den

CABIN #7 — SNUGGLE DEN owes its charming name to a special guest contest held in the fall of 2007. After receiving many creative entries from both new visitors and longtime friends of Lydia Mountain, Marlise Edwards submitted the winning name — one that perfectly captures the warm, inviting spirit of this cozy and romantic retreat.
Whether you arrive for a peaceful solo escape, a getaway with someone special, or a family adventure (baby bear included), this cabin wraps you in comfort from the moment you step inside. Soft, welcoming spaces and a tranquil mountain setting make it easy to slow down, reconnect, and simply enjoy being together.
After just one night beneath its welcoming roof, most guests agree — this cabin truly lives up to its name. SNUGGLE DEN is a place for quiet mornings, cozy evenings, and the kind of relaxation that lingers long after your stay.
Come settle in, get comfortable, and discover why Cabin #7 is the perfect place to snuggle into mountain time.

Cozy, relaxing stay

This is my 3rd year staying in a Lydia Mountain cabin and I don't think I will stay anywhere else! Easy to get to, super close to Shenandoah entrance, lodge restaurant for times you don't want to cook, and a super friendly staff.

Loved it!

Loved our stay, everything was so comfy and relaxing, exactly what we needed for this little get away. The only thing I wish that worked was the coffee maker for my boyfriend, but other than that everything was amazing!

Great stay

Worked perfect for a wedding. WiFi and tv weren’t really working but helped us fully unplug and use the hot tub a little bit more

Our 40th Wedding Anniversary

Good Afternoon Thank You, for letting us enjoy a simple relaxed weekend. We walked, talked, laughed, cried, and looked into each other’s eyes as we did 40 years ago,not knowing what our future would hold! Yet holding each other, knew we would scale mountains and repel into valleys Of uncertainty… God is our Navigator,Family and Friends our co-pilots through this Time warp of Destiny! Every Day is a Gift, especially with the One You Love!!!❤️ Thank You again!

Great Location, Average Accomodations

Very convenient to SNP and not far from Charlottesville with all its attractions. The cabin was OK with a comfortable bed and the hot tub was nice. Could have used a few more and larger blankets. Cleanliness was so-so. It was dark and the lighting was bad. Fortunately, we didn't spend much time inside.

AWSOME TIME

This is our fourth or fifth time in the “Snuggleden” and we have love every visit. They set a high standard here that is hard to match anywhere else. I think what set this visit off from the others was the fresh flowers on the table when we came in. I sent Madalyn a text thanking her for doing that, the wife loved them. I took pictures of them, edited them and sent them to her. It is the small things like that, that people notice the most. Thank you again for another amazing time. Can’t wait until our next visit. Condition of cover on hot tub

The snuggle den was perfect & we have no complaints but an added suggestion is the Hot Tub cover, it felt like it was on its last legs & hard to take off & put on. It took 2 of us to gently make sure nothing broke more than it already was. I think a new lid is definitely needed. I loved the robes & everything we might need was there, so thank you very much for everything. I will definitely be staying there again.

Comments

I have been coming to the cabin for many years and the quality of the cabins have changed over the years.. Examples of this include the repair work outside in the deck area looks terrible— never seen that low quality of work—also the low grade toliet paper is noted too these days
