We have been awarded "Best Place to Stay in Madison" along with multiple other awards!

This historic building was originally one of the city’s horse stables and has recently been converted into apartments. The new furnishings, bathrooms, luxury linens, towel warmer and a complete kitchen will be appreciated yet the historic charm is blended within.

This fun river town will remind you of years gone by. Come see why Ladie’s Home Journal awarded Madison “ prettiest small town in the midwest”. Chicago Tribune says it’s “the best preserved midwest town".

And, USA TODAY awarded Madison as the BEST SMALL TOWN in the Midwest! Our building was also featured in 3 page article in the Louisville Courier Journal.

This circa 1860 historic building originally was one of the city’s main stables. It’s now a blend of barnwood contemporary and vintage charm with so many amenities!

New renovations, large gathering area and luxury furnishings will leave you wanting to stay longer. Come see why guests say they don’t want to leave!!

This unit is on the main floor with a very easy entry There is also a laundry area. We provide baby and children supplies as well as portable chairs for your use during music festivals and other festivities. We are located at the start of the festivals, right on Broadway Street! The seasonal farmer's market is just across the street on Saturday mornings.

We will also send you a list of recommendations and venues for live music before your arrival.

You will see that we have the BEST downtown location!

We are centrally located in the best part of downtown and in walking distance to most places.

Our Livery Loft apartment is another award winning unit and can sleep 5 more guests. It is located directly above Stablemaster's Quarters. We will soon have another unit available so we can then sleep up to 13 guests.

You will be pleasantly surprised by all the amenities we provide and soon see why our guests often say we are their "best vacation rental experience".

This is truly an exceptional property with a super host who puts other properties to shame. We honestly have never been so pampered and cared for in a rental space or even a hotel. Suzie is nothing short of amazing and this property is something you will talk about and remember as the gold standard of hospitality. When looking for a place, Stable Masters ticks off all the requirements:Easy access, private, spacious, comfortable beds, new bathroom and fixtures, hot water that stays hot and great proximity to everything. But this list doesn’t do justice to the details. It is decorated perfectly, linens are clean and rich, not threadbare, all the home decor is beautiful and the kitchen was stocked. We had not only a coffee maker, Keurig and French press but coffee, creamers, (yes flavored!), bagels, cereal, milk and juice. Our host, Suzie also made muffins for our last morning. I cannot say enough about our stay. I highly recommend you book this place as soon as it’s available. I promise you will not be disappointed-you will be impressed.

Absolutely the best place to stay! We returned for a second time this year and plan to stay again next year for a girls weekend getaway. No detail is overlooked in the property from amenities to decorating details.

The hostess was extremely helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. She provided cookies when we arrived and muffins the morning we left. The refrigerator was well stocked with water, milk, local apple cider and iced tea. All amenities were exceptional and the rooms were comfortable and inviting. This was a great place to stay.

The absolute perfect place!! Our hostess was the best! She knew we were celebrating my bday, and so when we arrived, she had "happy birthday, Michelle" signs to greet us! Also, she had my favorite music playing, fresh cookies, and a magical piece of bday cake! So many personal touches! I felt quite pampered. Plus, the place itself is stunning! Gorgeous decor! So many little things like a heated towel rack...every possible thing you might need when traveling, she had waiting for you.

I’m confident in my belief that Suzie is far more concerned with properly serving her guests than she is any income her property may generate. She was a phenomenal hostess, providing us a much better than home, home away from home experience. Her generosity shines by way of all the amenities and thoughtful extras she willingly provides and by way of her kind communication. She and Ron are surely as valuable of an asset to Madison, Indiana, as their location in Madison is to the guests they host. Their accommodations are top notch in cleanliness and cozy comfort, and close to nearly everything of interest. Pack your walking shoes because you can explore several sites, shops, and restaurants all within walking distance.

We had a GREAT stay. Suzie and Ron are wonderful hosts, from the beginning to the end of our stay.We were able to check in early, when we walked in, my favorite artist was playing and a dish of warm delicious cookies were on the stove waiting for us. On our last night we got a text asking us what time we wanted the home made blueberry muffins Ron was making delivered in the morning. So many nice surprises, too many to list. Highly recommend Stablemaster's Quarters, you can't go wrong.

On our 1st night there, my husband slipped and fell on a step directly outside the bedroom door. Spent 5 hours in er. 8 stitches, facial fractures and fractured pelvis. Needless to say our trip was pretty bad after that. Down lightning or motion lights would helped at that step. Otherwise it may have been a great stay.

It is the perfect place to stay. Located just between the river and the main street. The hosts were so gracious. They are truly a gift to Madison, IN We knew right away that if we needed anything, they would be there for us.

Our stay was absolutely perfect! Check-in was super easy and stress-free, and the place itself was beautiful—clean, comfortable, and exactly as described (if not better!). Every little detail was thoughtfully taken care of, which made it feel like a true home away from home. Suzie was an amazing host—warm, welcoming, and always quick to respond. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would definitely love to stay here again. Highly recommend!

All was lovely. Location perfect for a stroll on the riverfront and for walking to dinner. Loved listening to the church bells. Communication was great and the apartment was perfect. Warm blueberry muffins were so delicious.

Madison getaway

Sisters and I made a quick trip to Madison and lucked into getting the best spot. Stablemasters quarters was a wonderful place to stay and the hosts were so friendly and accommodating. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Best Short-Term Rental We Have Been To

Great property, great location, and amazing hosts. Incredible attention to detail and service. It would take too long to describe everything that impressed us so I'll just say it's all perfect and if this place is available when you're visiting Madison, stop searching and just book it.

Don’t pass this place up!

We had the best stay here for our annual mom/daughter/grandson trip. Everything about the place was perfect and there were so many “extras” that made you feel so special! Our host reached out before we ever came to provide suggestions on places to eat and places to visit in Madison. She left cookies and sweet tea out upon our arrival when she found out my 11 year old was also coming. He walked around the place and had to facetime everyone at home to tell them what they were missing by not being with us. The location is great for walking to the river or to many different shops and small restaurants and coffee shops in the area. The place is amazing and we will for sure be back!

Such an amazing piece of history!

This stay surpassed all expectations we had. The hosts were phenomenal and really made us feel loved and appreciated. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed (and more)! We are already planning our next trip back!
