I walked into the townhouse at 4am. Of course it was dark, and we carried luggage into the house and went straight to our rooms to go to bed. I noticed there was a little bit of water on the kitchen floor, but I hadn't identified the leak. Then I walked upstairs to the kids room, and the carpet was flooded in one area. So I looked at the email I was sent for check in and called the 24 hour/after hour emergency maintenance hotline. I left the voicemail..it directed to me leave a message immediately. I woke up for work at 8am. I expected some sort of return call, nothing. So I called again at 9am and spoke with someone at front desk. I reported the issue and let them know that the carpet was flooded upstairs, and the kitchen had a steady leak and was filling a bowl. They said they would send someone right away. Four hours went by, the ceiling was raining water and it was yellow water that had a nasty smell. I was concerned for my children...one has medical issues, and no one wants to sit, eat, or cook in a kitchen that you're being rained on. It was awful. Upstairs and downstairs basically under construction, and you can tell the ceiling has had multiple leaks. It was super dangerous. After another hour, I made a third call and demanded someone come immediately after my daughter and I slipped in the kitchen trying to change out the bowl because there was so much water on the floor. At this point the ceiling was leaking in three places and pouring through the light fixture. SUPER DANGEROUS. My back and neck STILL HURTS from this fall. It took that call to get someone to come see about the leak and flooding. It's clear this leak and flooding was there before I even checked in. I was very upset that the maintenance man came and fixed it, tried to dry up the carpet....but told me I couldn't use the kitchen for 24 hours. So that's two days without the kitchen use that I paid for and a moldy smell through out the entire stay. I was scared to use the electric stove, light switch, and had to give my kid an extra asthma treatment everyday for the mildew. Just not the vacation I expected with the money I paid. I expected some sort of follow up but I didn't get anything or call. I called as well days before check out to follow up on my request for some sort of discount to be provided. They took my information and said I would receive a call or email by the time I checked out. I received nothing. Not a good experience AT ALL.
