What a VIew!

The view is spectacular. Diamond Head, the park, and the ocean on frontal views, and then beach, surfers, and ocean with evening sunsets on side views.

Very good location, practical, functional.

Our stay at the Banyan in Waikiki was great! The location was perfect, walking distance to everything. We were able to get many places without transportation, the zoo, aquarium, beach, shops, and restaurants. The condo was as shown in pictures, and was well stocked with kitchen items. The box of chocolates was very nice! The bed chair was very useful and practical. Our only two recommendations would be to mount the kitchen chair cushions down, a bit dangerous when not knowing they will slide right off the high chairs! Also and the futon mattress is needing replacement. Both of those items are likely from lots of use, which means its a well liked and used location! We would stay there again, pleased over all?

Survivable

This was our first time in Oahu with our kids. We brought our elderly father along so that he could visit his 103-year-old aunt. We were a bit disappointed in the condition of the condo as we discovered many items in need of repair. It also could have used a deep cleaning. We found the leg broken on the sleeper sofa, the metal bedframe was broken on the small sleeper, the kitchen light bulb was out, the sliding partition door to the bedroom was detached, the patio door did not have a lock, the large curtains were in unstable condition so we were afraid to slide them, and some of the outlets were a fire hazard as they were loose and exposed the internal wiring. The Wifi and TV also did not work. We also found a few roaches in the kitchen cabinet. The owner was nice about it and did try to remedy some of the issues when we notified him; however, it was frustrating having to spend our vacation trying to get these issues resolved. He did tell us he would credit us $250 for these issues; however, we never saw that reflected on our credit card statement. His delayed response time to our questions prior to arrival was a bit frustrating. Sometimes it would take him weeks to respond to us. We began feeling quite nervous at his lack of communication and thought maybe this was a scam property. We have booked many vacation rentals and this is the first time we have had such a challenging time getting prompt and clear responses from the property owner.

Worth it simply for the view! With the location, free parking, and all the amenities added in, it's a bargain. Everything that you see in the listing is exactly as it is in the condo, but the pictures do not do the view justice.

Nice location with easy access. Host is easy to communicate with. A bit outdated with some nuances.

Enjoyed the stay but we were a little disappointed in the quality if some of the basics like doors and accessories.

Great price and compromise on comfort

Absolutely fantastic location and we made the space work with five people. Love the walk-score and parking pass option. Sleeping options are good and ocean breeze delightful. The price was right for all these things but we really struggled with comfort concerning cleanliness and functioning of amenities. Wifi worked well and kitchen was well stocked. Electrical outlets in some rooms seem unsafe, elevators (at times) took 30 minutes, water was off for one day, cable provider is out of date (unlike Xfinity) and we ended up not using it, had to buy trash bags, coffee filters, paper towels, toilet paper, and wash towels often. Washing room takes an app and it’s close! Owner was polite to engage with.

Waikiki Banyan, perfect location for our vacation!

Waikiki Banyan was the perfect location for our vacation. Was a short couple blocks to the main strip and Waikiki beach, we watched the sunset everyday. Also close to restaurants and food. Parking and pass provided by the host for the multilevel car park was super convenient. Elevator access to the apartment. Wifi worked well. There are extra boogie boards, deck chair, umbrella and cooler box to take to the beach. Plenty of towels and space. Washing machines and dryer is available down the hall on each floor ($2). The bed was huge. Sofa beds were comfortable for our family. Single sofa was okay. There was a pool and tennis court and bbq facilities as well. Overall a great apartment. Good response by the host. We will definitely stay again.

Great place to stay!

This is a comfortable place to spend your holiday in Oahu.it is so convenient and if you are thinking of renting a car it is perfect because car park is included.you need not spend a fortune for parking. The owner Arvis is very helpful too. He has gone beyond to ensure that we have a pleasant experience. We will definitely rent from him again. Even my family who rented another unit asked for his contact!

Great & Comfortable Place for Family Vacation

Location is excellent and great value for money. Waikiki beach just 5 minutes walking from the hotel. Newly reno'd International Market Place, ABC stores and lots of restaurants are very close. Very well maintained clean and comfortable unit with fantastic cooking & activity facilities/equipment. Property owner/manage Arvis is very responsible and provided best customer service. That's our 3rd visit to Honolulu and we always stayed on his property. Recommended this place to my family and friends. One more fantastic thing was free Wi-Fi and 1 covered parking spot on the lower level of the hotel included in the price in my case, unbelievably convenient and great if you explore here and there in Oahu with rental car. Overnight parking rate is minimum $20-25 in this city. I will revisit this place for sure. Mahalo,

Great value, here’s why:

Arvis’ place is great! Some people have complained in their reviews about the kitchen, etc. not being “modern” enough but as someone that grew up in Hawaii, let alone Waikiki, I can’t help but roll my eyes at those comments. You can’t find a better value for location, price, amenities. I was impressed by the binder that Arvis left out for tourists to check out cool hikes, beaches, etc. (My only concern is to add difficulty level to hikes, etc. or to put a note for a hike like Stairway to Heaven that it is illegal/extremely dangerous to hike that) Buuut seriously. His place was great. I love the Banyan. It came with its own parking spot! Finding parking in Waikiki is so annoying and/or expensive. If you’re trying to save money on food he has all the amenities you would need to cook, etc. Highly recommend this spot!

Clean but well worn and needed lots of TLC

Clean but very worn. Needs some repairs and replacement. Kitchen tap kept falling off. Patio door would stick when trying to open it. Most of the dished were chipped and cracked. Kitchen blender did not work. Clock was broken. No phone. While we were there the owner did replace worn out futon with new uncomfortable foldout chesterfield. Chesterfield base would move so you could not sit and lean back. Bed was comfortable. We made do.

Great location!

We spent 2 weeks in this lovely condo. It had everything we needed including beach gear! Clean, well stocked. Quiet and convenient to everything. One block away from the beach! We loved the onsite pool and BBQ area as well as snack bar, onsite mini mart, ATM, and laundry facilities. Arvis answered questions promptly and provided accurate directions and information. Smooth transaction. We had the best time and would recommend this unit to others.

Well equipped unit in a great location.

This large unit has a well equipped kitchen and also had boogie boards, beach towels and can sleep 5 people. The king bed was very comfortable and my adult daughter and boyfriend found the fouton was OK. The pull out chair can sleep an adult as well. It is on the 23rd floor but there are 4 elevators so very little waiting. The parking garage always had lots of spots. We did use the bbq's by the pool several nights and some worked great but others not so good. The ones closest to the building were the best. Overall good value for your money and Arvis is great to deal with.

Great family experience

Great family experience Location: Our family of 5 stayed at this condo for 11 nights in August 2016 and had a great experience! The proximity to Waikiki beach and shopping strip was great (3 min walk). At the same time the condo building is located outside the “hustle and bustle” of the night life (5-9 min walk) and all the construction that is going on there, so our nights were quiet and sound. Amenities: Condo building has a parking, which is included in the price. We had a car for the whole duration of our stay so this was a great money saver. It was also very convenient, never too hard to find a spot close to the elevator for Tower II. Condo: Condo is equipped with everything you will need. Full fridge, with freezer, microwave, dishes, utensils, toaster, pots/pens, etc… You will appreciate this if you are traveling on a budget. We stacked up the food for the whole duration (Costco and Walmart) so we did not have to spend a fortune on eating out. The king size bed is very comfortable. Queen size futon was shared by our teenage daughters – no complaints! Our teenage son, who is very tall, slept on a sleeping chair that opens up into a bed – no complaints! The condo owner brought in the chair to accommodate the 5 of us so we would not have to use air mattresses – MUCH APPRECIATED! Condo owner: Very responsive (answered every one of my emails in detail, with patience) right from my first enquiry to our check out. He explained the booking process, had patience with us modifying the dates, and got the small issue with the window (we could not close it once opened) fixed within few hours. All the communication was done via email and/or phone. It would be our pleasure to meet Arvis one day but if not, we would definitely stay at his condo again!

Great Place Great Location

We really enjoyed our 2 weeks in Hawaii visiting from Chile !!!! Staying at The Banyan has a lot to do with that. Everything was perfect at the Condo, very clean and very close to every cool place at Waikiki Beach. Parking is great and always available. Thank you Arvis !!!!!

Very nice place to stay

We were very happy with our stay. The Waikiki Banyan is very convenient to walk to zoo, aquarium, Kapiolani park and beach. It is on the quieter end of Waikiki. The apartment was as advertised. Check-in was convenient with lockbox for key. Parking is a real plus. Owner very responsive throughout the whole process.

CONVENIENCE WITH A VIEW

We've stayed many times at the Banyan, and this visit was just as wonderful! You cannot beat the convenience, space and amenities for the price. We did experience a minor AC unit mishap (leaking on the patio), but the owner was quick to respond, available to fix it and came over with our approval. We'd do it all again and NOT change a thing! Thank you for another fantastic experience in paradise!

Beautiful, convenient, walking distance to Waikiki

Great condo with view of Ala Wai canal and sunrise. 2-3 block walk to beach. The rental property manager, Arvis, was very responsive. No problems with communication or getting into the room. Lovely box of chocolates at arrival. Thank you! Free Parking. Unit had beach chairs, inflatable pool float. Had adequate towels. Would have liked a rice cooker, but other than that kitchen was fully stocked with coffee maker, microwave. Enough room for 2 adults, 3 kids (2 teens and school age). King bed in main room, queen sofa bed. Lovely furniture. AC in the room. Pool on 6th floor. Great spot for a Waikiki family vacation. Wi-Fi and cable in the room. Took some time for the deposit to get returned, but once reminded had no trouble getting it back (Property manager was on vacation). I would recommend this place again.

Great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo. Everything was exactly as presented and clean. The building is nice and well located. The owner was very helpful. We will definitely see if this condo is available the next time we are in Honolulu.
