GREAT location, easy to bike to the beach, no car necessary once you arrive. =) The owner provides 3 bikes; a single speed, a 3 speed (I think) and a 15 speed as well as 2 kayaks. We didn't use the kayaks but did use 2 of the bikes. VERY quiet but the island is pretty quiet in general. The home is set up and ready for you to enjoy outdoor living. The screened-in porch with a hammock and fan make you feel like you're in a treehouse. The rooftop patio is great for views of the golf course and the marsh area. You can see the ocean between the trees, and at night, you can hear it. We sat on the roof almost every night and enjoyed our coffee up there every morning. The king size bed was very comfortable, the shower was more than you would think with a rain showerhead, a handheld shower AND a seated back massage spray area (from too much tennis or golf). If you like the bedroom to be dark, bring your blinders as 2 if the 3 bedrooms get morning sun. Each bedroom had a porch so you could sit outside and enjoy the breezes. The kitchen has the usual appliances as well as toaster, blender, Keurig and a handblender. The owner was so very responsive and very nice. I locked myself out and had to call him, so embarassed, but he was so kind and walked me through how to get back in, staying on the phone, even though he was in CO! Each time I had to contact him, regardless of whether it was email, text or phone, before and during the trip, he was very quick to respond. At various times during the week, I had different people come and go, and they all said the same thing - the pictures don't do this place justice. WE all LOVED this location! If you want a lovely and comfortable place, this one is GREAT. However, if you cannot climb stairs, this place is not for you. If you book this great home, please note nothing is stocked in the kitchen so plan to bring your own items - ziploc bags, saran wrap and foil, as well as any food items like spices, herbs, oils, vinegars, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper. There is a propane grill on one of the many porches. For groceries you can head to the Harris Teeter at Freshfields where you can stock up on all these before you head in and it's probably a 10 minute drive. If you're adventurous, you can bike it in 40 minutes. My friends said - let's book this place again! What more can I say?!
