This was an amazing property in a great location to see a number of attractions around The Golden Circle. The property was clean, comfortable and spacious enough for our family to relax and recharge, and had all we needed to do so. This is our first time visiting Iceland, and I would absolutely stay here again on our next trip.

Perfect for groups touring Southern Iceland

Great experiences at this rental - spent 5 days/4 nights with a group of 8 touring southern Iceland and made this our home base. The house had everything you could possibly need, the owners were very responsive to questions and accommodating regarding payment. Thank-you Börkur and Elín we will definitely recommend!

Perfect birthday surprise

I booked this as a surprise for my husbands 50th. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Accommodation is spotless and has everything you need and more. Can sit at night and watch the northern lights. Hot tub so relaxing and garage converted games room kept everyone entertained. Hosts so helpful recommending places to visit, restaurants and where to get birthday cake. Short drive to all attractions. Mika a must for a meal. Had the best time with family from ages 2 to 73.

Our Laugaras stay

6 adults stayed in the house 3 nights. Very comfortable. Very clean. Loved the open space, uncluttered vibe. Nice kitchen. We used the grill one night and ate out the other two. Used the hot tub and ping-pong. Great location to Golden Circle sights. Geysir, Gulfoss, Crater, Bruarfoss, Reykjadalur hot springs -- all within 45 minutes. We ate at two great restaurants nearby -- Mika and Friðheimar (make reservations!). Suggestions -- a welcome book with instructions for house (If it was there we didn't find it) and some trimming of bushes around house. A good place to relax. Very private on end of quiet road.

Family vacation- multigenerational

Overall, our three generations of family enjoyed our stay at this property. There was plenty of room for the eight of us to spread out or be together, as desired. Everyone raved about the comfortable beds and bedding. We found the kitchen to be very well stocked. It was a pleasure to cook meals for a big crowd. The large dining table was perfect for family dinners and games. The common seating area was ideal. There were several beautiful books about Iceland to enjoy while relaxing on the lovely oversized couch. The house is located in a picturesque agricultural area with small farms and we enjoyed visiting with the horses and buying fresh tomatoes, herbs, and lettuce from a farm stand. While not a far drive to some of the sites on the Golden Circle, it was a bit of a drive to Selfoss to buy groceries and even more so to/from Reykjavík. While we were surprised to find that the hot tub was more of a warm soaking bath, our only regret was that we didn’t leave more time to relax around the house and local area. We all had a lot of fun during after dinner games of table tennis/ping-pong!

Iceland adventure

When we booked our trip to Iceland, the original plan was to change hotels every couple of nights but that seemed tedious. This VRBO is located right in the center of the south of Iceland and is the perfect home base to explore the Golden Circle, Highlands, Vik and so much more. The weather was not very cooperative so we did not use the outdoor hot tub but I peeked in and it looked invitingly warm. Just not under the rain. The house was warm and inviting. The kitchen fully furnished. Operating the cook top took all four of us but we did eventually figure it out. We were fortunate because we were two couples and there are five rooms. We used the extra rooms for our luggage. There is a lack of space in most of the rooms to unpack so be aware of this if you are planning to use all the rooms. The other minor drawback was that the laundry was in the separate garage. As it was raining this meant going back and forth under the rain. From the pictures it was not clear that the laundry and ping-pong were in a separate garage. Maybe a house plan could be added to the listing. Overall we enjoyed the house very much and would consider going back if we ever go back to Iceland.

Sehr schöner Aufenthalt

Ein sehr gepflegtes Haus mit komfortabler Ausstattung in wunderbarer, ruhiger Lage mitten in der Natur. Es war alles vorhanden, was für einen erholsamen Aufenthalt notwendig ist. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern war hervorragend. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Golden experience

A great, modern and spacious home right on the golden circle, with many amenities. We had 3 adults and 3 children (ages 13-16) and had a wonderful stay for a week in November. Borkur was also very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend !

Wonderful stay

On our family vacation to Iceland and decided to rent this home for part of our trip. We were not disappointed. Great home. Very clean and great location. Excellent base for golden circle

We were 3 families- comprised of 5 adults and 5 children. The property worked perfectly- big well equipped kitchen / diner. Excellent instructions from owners. Excellent location to explore the golden circle. We all enjoyed snow mobile trip on Langjökull glacier. Loved the bean to cup coffee maker, hot tub and garage / games room. Thank you

Amazing property

This was perfect for our winter trip for a family of 10. We loved the hot tub and fun in the garage. Laundry machines were a huge plus! We saw amazing Northern Lights and enjoyed the area so much. Thank you for letting us stay.

Amazing location and hosts

The house is so well equipped. Location is amazing aswell. We got stuck in a storm and they made sure we was safe and stay another night and kept us updated on travel safely We can't thank you enough.

Amazing home - clean, spacious and great location!

This was the perfect house for our two families. The location was great for day trips to the Golden Circle, Reykjavik and Vik. We went on an amazing horseback riding tour at Nupshestar which is only 10 minutes away. We even did longer day trips to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Snaefellsnes Peninsula. The house was modern, spotless, spacious and comfortable. It was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The house was actually nicer and larger than the pictures showed! The kitchen and living room were perfect for our large group of nine with a huge kitchen table and lots of seating. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were large and modern as well. The owners were helpful and available for any questions although we had no problems with the house at all. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others visiting Iceland!

A wonderful spot!

This was the ideal spot for our 2-family stay in Iceland! The property was located in the heart of the Golden Circle, making it ideal for seeing all the highlights, and wasn’t too long a drive down to southern Iceland or Reykjavik either. The property was clean, comfortable and spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed. In short, it helped make our Iceland adventure an AWESOME experience!

Great place for a family reunion

This place has everything you need for a group of 10. We explored the south side of Iceland and it was nice to know we had a place to call home. There is plenty of room for everyone, a great common area for games and dinners. The outdoor space is good to relax on the terrass or in the hot tub. THe kids had fun out on the soccer pitch and in the garage playing pingpong and fussball. We would recommend this place. You do need a rental car to get here and to explore all sites in Iceland.

Fantastic!!

The beds were comfy, the owners very responsive.. Great for a family getaway with hot tub, foosball, ping pong and more. The location is perfect for the golden circle and Northern lights viewing.. could use a few More towels, but other than that this place is perfect and we would stay again in a heartbeat..

Perfect for family gathering

We spent 3 nights with extended family touring the area and enjoying the fact that we had a beautiful and comfortable place to finish the day over dinner. We had 8 adults but could have had 10 comfortably. The owners are friendly and attentive. We recommend this property for anyone's Iceland visit.

Golden Circle Villas is a family owned company, established in 2014, that owns three villas in the South region of Iceland. The villas are located in a small greenhouse village, Laugarás, 3 km from the historical place, Skálholt Cathedral. The villas are all new or newly renovated. Two of the villas can accommodate 10 persons each and the third villa can accommodate 6-7 persons. The villas are rented seperately but it is ideal for larger groups to rent the villas all together as they have space for up to 27 persons. All our villas are located within 100 meters distance from each other.
