Hi, we are the Jones. We have 3 grown children and 1 fur baby, our yellow lab named Brogan. Shelby, our oldest is married to Jessica and they have 2 children, Declan and Rosemary. They live in Dunwoody GA. Megan lives in Atlanta and Leslie lives in Houston. Mac and I live in the Virginia Highland area of Atlanta. You will be able to see when you stay at Kahlua's Cottage that we are huge Georgia Bulldog fans. We also root for Ole Miss as our daughter Leslie graduated from there. We have previously lived in Roswell GA, Houston Texas and Suwanee GA. Mac is a native Atlantan, and Beverly grew up in the Sandy Springs area of Atlanta. Both Mac and Beverly have been coming to SSI since childhood.

Having grown up in Georgia, both Mac and Beverly have been coming to St Simons and the Golden Isles since they were kids. We love the quaint atmosphere of St Simons. When we found the house at Cottages of Live Oak, the floorplan was so comfortable and made for a relaxing place for us to spend time with our grown kids, and friends and family. Kahlua's Cottage has fullfilled our dream and is very much a relaxing home away from home. The pool and hottub have really been enjoyed by all, especially Brogan. The location is perfect because we can walk or ride bikes to the village area and also to the area on Ocean Dr where Crab Daddies and Beachcomber BBQ(our favorite local restaurants) are located. We really enjoy walking Kahlua to the beach in the afternoon and sit on one of the pocket beaches (1/4 mile from Kahlua's) and watch the ships come in and out of the Brunswick Harbor. If we want to spend a day at the beach we usually go to the Coast Guard Station near East Beach and park there. The beach stays good there all day long(about 1/2 mile from Kahlua's). We also loved all the porches that Kahlua's Cottage has, the front porch, the screened porch and the top porch upstairs. It is a perfect day when we can sit in the rockers on the front porch and drink coffee, then ride bikes to lunch somewhere on the island, then go sit on the beach in the afternoon and watch the ships come in and out and then finish up by walking to Crap Daddy's for dinner. Then back home for one more stroll to the beach with Brogan. He loves being able to run on the beach by moonlight.

Great Location for getting to Village, Beach, and other areas of the Island!! Private pool and hot tub, and best porches around!!!!!The kitchen is stocked better than my kitchen at home!!!Check to see what the tide is doing before you leave the house, which is important since the beaches closer to the village tend to disappear during high tide, but the beaches towards East Beach are always good!
