Check-in went well after we got the lock figured out and we unlocked the opportunity to make some amazing family memories! Host was attentive to anything that came up, the house worked perfectly for us, kitchen is well stocked with supplies and super helpful to have some items for smaller children. The screen porch is great for family game time and the deck looking out over the woods is so peaceful. The firepit was relaxing to use and the couch is great for napping after a day at the beach. The local activities are lots of fun too. The whole family would like to go back!
Took a walk to the top of the lighthouse - even the 3 & 4 year old made it!

Dune Vacation

The location of this property is awesome! As the last house on the end of a cul de sac you get little to no traffic. The path to the swimming pool is directly to the left of the property and you are at the pool within a 10 minute walk. The swimming pool is great - very clean and has an amazing slide! The house is completely stocked with hand soap, dish soap, laundry soap and the owner provides a great start up kit with TP and paper towel. The rooms are comfortable and everything you need is available. The kitchen has enough pans, pots and dishes to prepare and eat meals. Communication with owner was easy and we had no issues during our stay. If I return to the dunes, I would book this property again!

Great Location with Attentive Host

Our stay in Silver Lake did not disappoint! Ryan was a very attentive host and the house was perfect for our family. The access to the boat and the lake made for a relaxing getaway that didn’t feel rushed. The houses proximity to great food and treats was wonderful too. Would definitely recommend!

A great place for a family reunion

The house is very clean and has everything one may need, and even more. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. It was great to use the new fire pit and the private swimming pool, tennis courts, and table tennis. Close to Silver Lake, sand dunes, and Lake Michigan. Overall, we had a wonderful stay.

Silver Lake 2024

My family and I stayed at Silver Lake in 2012 and had a great time. In 2024, we wanted to relive that experience, and our stay did not disappoint. We had a great time catching up, swimming, playing games, and having campfires—and that was just at the property! The area offers a lot of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Wonderful - somewhat secluded yet central to all we love about Oceana County

We really enjoyed our stay here, at the end of a wooded cul-de-sac yet close enough to Silver Lake that we could easily walk the path to the pool and beyond to watch the sunset over the dunes from the Association shore area. My favorite times were spent at the fire-pit or with morning coffee on the deck, chatting with family. Plenty of room to relax and grill out. The house was easy to keep tidy, had just about everything we might need, and had minimal requirements on check-out. The beds were comfortable for 9 of us, and having upper, middle, and lower levels allowed us some space and privacy. We were able to fit six cars in the driveway. The owner was easy to reach by text when needed. We would definitely stay here again!

Quiet Peaceful Location

This house is located at the end of a culdesac in a quiet neighorhood. The owner just put in a very nice concrete firepit down on the bottom of the property. That is where we spent every evening. The house was a good size for our group. We had 3 couples and 2 teenagers. The teenagers shared the bunk bedroom while then each couple had their own private sleeping areas. There were 2 bathrooms that were shared. The living area and kitchen were the right size for our needs and we cooked breakfast each morning and then usually either lunch or dinner. Breakfast was enjoyed on the partial wraparound deck that overlooked the firepit and wooded area. There was also plenty of parking on the driveway for 3 vehicles and a trailer that had our side by side. The location of the house was within a mile of main Silver Lake area and just a little further from the dune entry. There was a community pool near the house that you could either drive or walk to through a path located near the house. The pool was good size with plenty of seating, a water slide, and shaded areas. We went down once during our stay and we were the only ones there. The only problem that we encountered was the AC not cooling the house. We contacted the owner and within hours he had an AC guy there repairing the unit and the house was cooling again. There is a pontoon boat rental that you can get with the house as well for a good price. Owner was great to work with and was extremely responsive to questions.

Terrible experience

Firstly, we received noticed from Ryan a week before the trip that there was no grass and that he will be turbo seeding the entire yard and asked us to remain off the grass as much as possible during our stay. This was tough because we had 7 young children staying the weekend. He didn’t offer any type of incentive, but I did ask for a small discount and he agreed. On the second day of the trip, we went to the pool and it was closed! There was a maintenance guy working and he told me he had no way to let me in and that even if he did let me in, the heater and chlorinator were not working. It was padlocked and the pool was discolored and filthy. The guy was very kind, he even called a member of the association to try to get it unlocked for us but couldn’t reach them. At this point, we decided to end our trip. We did not have access to the pool which is the MAIN reason we chose this home! Ryan was not helpful, accused me of lying. He told me he “knew for a fact” that the pool was not filthy because he was “just there.” I have posted the pictures on this review so you can see for yourself. He told us he has no control over the pool (even though his entire property is marketed on VRBO for boating a heated pool) and refused to give us any type of compensation even after we ended our trip so early due to his INNACURATE property description. If he didn’t have control over the pool he should have let us know that ahead of time. We would have reconsidered booking with him.

Great time in Silver Lake Michigan

We enjoyed our stay at this property. Ryan quickly responded to any questions and even came by when needed. We appreciated having a variety of options for sleeping and the 3 levels of the property. We only wish we could have stayed longer to get to know everything the area has to offer.

Quiet little cul de sac

Nice place. If you like your own quiet corner this place is great. Only downside was the driveway. If you have multiple cars you need to do a little dancing with the vehicles sometimes. It would not hinder me from renting this place again.

Perfect Silver Lakes stay

We had so much fun in Silver Lakes! This home is close to all of the activities in the area-sand dunes, beaches, lighthouses, restaurants (we loved The Chicken Shack), MacWoods, Whippy Dip ice cream, Craig's Cruisers, Lewis Adventure Farm, Country Dairy, many orchards and farms, Ludington and all it has to offer, wineries, the town of Hart, and the list goes on! It was a great family trip! I would highly recommend renting the boat if you plan to enjoy Silver Lake and the sand dunes, so much fun with kids. Take your boogie boards and sleds!

Great place, great ammenities

Great property. Loved the Yardzee and firepit at house. The pool was a huge hit. The kids, both teenagers and kids at heart (40+), loved how fast the slide was. Great proximity to dune rides and lighthouse. Would stay again.

Such an special place

We had the best week we have had as a family in a very long time. Ryan's home had everything and more for us to stay busy, have fun, feel safe and to stay entertained and make memories that will last forever. We would highly recommend to anyone and everyone going to silver lake and we will be sure to be back in the future!

Awesome place, we had a blast!

Great living spaces, deck, screened in porch area with table, and fire pit. Plenty of room for our two families of five and four to stay, cottage was spotless clean and well stocked with pots, pans, cutlery, towels, linens, etc. Short walk to the association pool, basketball courts, and waterfront area. Short drive to the dunes, Silver Lake State park, and many local attractions. Do the Mac Woods Dune Rides, totally worth it and everyone enjoyed it. Ryan was very responsive. A great experience!

Private cabin, quiet area

Had a wonderful time at this cabin with friends and family in the FloraDale Association! Large deck and yard with fireplace for s’mores and late nights, plenty of parking, and lots of sleeping options.

As a kid I spent many summers enjoying the dunes, lake Michigan's beaches, evenings at the Whippy Dip and roasting marshmallows over a glowing campfire. We would take day trips walking around Pentwater, Ludington and the small towns nearby.

Now as a parent i look forward to building new memories with my family at silver lake and we hope our place allows you to build lasting memories with your family.

This property is the perfect mix between a secluded quiet cottage and being close enough to walk into town, to Mac Woods or the Whippy Dip.

The private beach has soft sugar white sand that offers the best views of the dunes. Enjoy an evening by the water and cook hamburgers on the grill. A step over the short seawall provides great swimming in sandy Silver Lake. While it's not the best place to swim it does provide peace and quiet from the busy Lake Michigan beaches. We also have a boat slip for rent if you'd like to bring your own boat and enjoy tubing, skiing, or trips across the lake to the sandy beaches of Silver Lake.

The house is cared for by us and helped maintained by a local resident. We live in Grand Rapids so we are close by if you need us but we respect your privacy and trust you know how to enjoy yourselves responsibly.

The most important reason to rent Parasail Place is because we understand what you want in a vacation rental. We ourselves have rented a wide variety of places and have shared your frustrations of not having what you need to enjoy a week away from home. You should not have to worry 'am I forgetting something, do we have towels, what about linens and pillows, spices and utensils. I hope this place has what we need.' We have added everything we could think of, within reason, to add but if we forgot something that is necessary we would be happy to provide it.

Our intentions are for you to pack your bags not pack your house up.

The house was designed with kids in mind. We know you want to relax too and having the kids enjoy themselves makes your vacation much more pleasant.
