North Shore Cuba Lake Cottage

This idyllic "bungalow style " cottage is located on the desirable
North Shore of Cuba Lake.
View the kaleidoscopic colors of the sun setting over the horizon.
Engage in swimming and fishing from the dock.
Bring your boat and cruise around the lake!
There is plenty of space to picnic or play in the yard. Parking is limited to three cars.
Accommodations include one king size bed, one queen size bed, and a twin-size roll-away bed.
Swimming towels and toiletries are not provided, so you will be responsible for providing those for each guest.
On site washer and dryer.
The kitchen is fully equipped with electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, cooking and dining utensils. The dining area overlooks a beautiful view of the lake.
The cottage accommodates a maximum of 4 adult overnight guests.
Advance reservation is required with USD currency prior to lodging, depending upon availability.
Security deposit is forfeited in the event of cancellation without a written 30-day prior notice.
Check in 4 pm. / Check out 11 am. (unless otherwise stated).
Rates are based on a weekly, monthly, or seasonal basis, subject to change without notice. Partial weeks are billed at the full weekly rate.
Security deposit will be refunded within 14 days of departure pending inspection of premises.
A cleaning fee of $150.00 will be deducted if premises are not “Broom Swept Clean” or for excessive wear/tear.
Please do not leave food, dirty laundry or debris on the premises.
Lost key fee: $100.00
Garbage/ recycle pickup is available roadside early Monday morning.

House Rules:
Absolutely NO large groups or parties are permitted. You will be held liable for any damages caused by your guests. Report any damages that you find upon arrival or that occur during your stay. Swimming, diving and boating is at your own risk.
This is a privately owned vacation home, and we would like you to enjoy your visit in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
Please respect the tranquility of the evening hours and keep noise levels to a minimum after 10 pm.

Lake front home. Clean, comfy and accessible. Close to town and we had the pleasure of going to the Cuba Garlic fest. Host was a pleasure to work with, too. We couldn't have asked for a better week!

Met our expectations

My family and I spent one happy week in this cozy, quaint cottage. Everything was nice and clean. The location has quick access to the main road which is great. Views of the sunset can’t be beat. Cottage owner is very responsive. Great experience!

Loved our stay at Mary's place!

We were pleasantly surprised to find the cottage....while up there in years...to be comfortable and very clean. Enjoyed swimming in the clear water off the dock and simply enjoying all that wonderful lake has to offer. Boating over for lunch and drinks at Carpies, dinner at Moonwinks, cruises to watch the beautiful sunsets and fishing. There is a reason they call it fishing and not catching! Large fish jumping all around us...just never figured out what bait to use. loved our stay...hated to leave.

The view was great!

The bed was comfortable, fire pit was ok. The kitchen had enough plates and silverware. We brought kayaks and a boat and had fun on the lake. The kids had fun trying to catch fish, we didn't catch anything, but still had fun. We went hiking at Rock City Park, highly recommend it! The Cuba Cheese Shop was nice. Some new frying pans would be nice, the large frying pan was warped and didn't fully contact the burner which made it difficult to cook on. There was only 2 other small other frying pans, a medium size pan would have helped. The dining room view was great. The outside chairs were nice. The 1/2 inch galvanized pipe railing on the dock side stairs was very flimsy. Not to mention the stairs need some TLC. Bathroom needs updates. The grill was a joke, please splurge for a Weber charcoal. There wasn't any grill utencils, such as tongs or a decent metal spatula, no grill brush. Knifes were very dull. The kitchen garbage can was broken and ripped every bag. The back screen door needs to be replaced, I fixed the screen three times or more a day. The bench was broken, wood cracked on the seat. This was upsetting because I really wanted to sit on it on the dock. A row boat, kayak, or a canoe would be a nice touch. The house is really close to the road made me nervous with the kids. The carbonmonoxide detector beeped constantly when we arrived at the cottage. Probably a low battery, became quiet when we took the battery out. All and all for the money it was a nice place. Also the neighbor's boat was very annoying at night and throughout the day. They had it on a boat lift, not out of the water enough. It would make an annoying slapping noise all day, and all night. The repetitive noise took away from the serenity we were looking for. I also wish you could lock and unlock the back door with the same key as the front. The rear door didn't even have a key for it. So the main entryway was through the bedroom, which was a bit weird.

The cottage is older and is continuously a "work in progress". Some of the items you mentioned in your review are showing normal wear & tear and will be replaced soon. Although the weather over Labor Day weekend was disappointing, I am glad that you created some positive memories with your family. Thank you for your suggestions!

Enjoyed our stay!!

Very nice cottage! Clean and well maintained and had everything we needed. Perfect location on the lake! Great for viewing sunsets and convenient to the town of Cuba. Beautiful yard with well maintained dock for swimming and lake access. Great lake for kayaking. Nice, low traffic road for riding our bikes around the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return next year!

This owner is great to work with . Easy to reach and very accommodating . Cottage was very clean upon arrival .Great sunsets ! Easy water access . We took a yard canopy and it was great during the direct sun.

The Perfect Family Getaway

This cottage is gem! Located on the north side of the lake, meant some shade in the earlier part of the day and beautiful sunsets. A great place to start off the day with coffee on the dock, and then wine while the sun goes down. The cottage and property are very well maintained, and the cottage is adorable. From the front table, I had some online work to do one morning, and I was able to use my "hotspot" and complete a 2 hour virtual meeting. We brought our own kayaks, blow up rafts, an easy up tent, and a small portable gas grill. Some highlights/activities that also added to our week include: -rented a Paddle King (4-person) paddle bike and stand up paddleboard from Cuba Lake Marina (for just one day)Reasonable -Visited Rock City in Olean for some really cool trail hiking through enormous rocks -Lunch on Carpies deck - you can drive or boat there. They serve you right on the boat -Swimming every day - water is clean and perfect temperature -Fishing - we didn't catch a lot, but my daughter did catch a 20 in Pike (on a spoon reel) near the damn to the left of the cottage - lots of people fishing this end of the lake -a family member completed a run around the lake - I think 6.7 miles. -Garage saling -Cute shops in town - Light of the Moon, Kelly's One of a Kind, Village Artisans, and Cuba Pharmacy, The owner is very friendly, and she always answered my questions with quick responses. Thank you for a great week. We can't wait to go back!

Nice cozy cottage with a Beautiful view. Water was very nice and not a lot of seaweed.

Overall we had a very nice time and wonderful memories. Only thing cottage needs is WiFi since cell phone service is very scattered or sometimes no service or at least phone for emergencies.

Clean, neat and we'll cared for.

We enjoyed our stay at the lake and really lucked out with some great Western NY weather. I realize there is liability associated with providing a water craft, however, a 2 seat paddle boat would be really cool. Also, a more comfortable sofa and flat screen TV are desperately needed. Overall though, we really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks for the opportunity. Rick

Cuba Lake Cottage

I rented this for my son and grandchildren. It was neat, clean and comfortable. They enjoyed fishing and swimming at Cuba Lake. It would have been nice if there was a grill there, but everything else was great. Home Away was professional and I received my deposit back promptly.
