We loved this special historic house! we stayed here for a Christmas wagon ride and the NOTL parade. the location was perfect with plenty of parking. The house was big enough for us to spread out and had special places for us to come together! State of the art kitchen for cooking! The hosts were so gracious and made us feel welcome! We will be staying here again!

Excellent location with beautiful backyard. The home was clean and nicely laid out. Beds were comfortable with an ensuite off each bedroom. Hosts were welcoming and very informative about the area. Highly recommended for a large group

Could not have asked for a better experience for a week with friends. Paul and Melissa are absolutely wonderful hosts and the home is perfect. The bedrooms are comfortable and all have bathrooms. The outdoor spaces are like a well kept park and the location of the home is perfect. I would give the home my highest recommendation.

We are a group of women who have known each other for decades. We take a trip every year and this was the best accommodation yet! The location is perfect and we could walk everywhere. The house was immaculate, the hosts very helpful and they met us on arrival. The house itself is gorgeous and had everything we needed. We were all very sorry to leave.

We were family of 3 generations and the property was perfect for us all. It was secluded, but within 3 minutes walk of the centre of NOTL. We did not eat out, but cooked using the hob, oven or barbecue. The barbecue was excellent and the garden setting was private and both comfortable and attractive to be in. I cannot do it justice in words. The whole family had a really good time and we only wished we could have stayed longer. Melissa and Paul prepared the house for the family in a very thoughtful and kind way, to make it easy for us. they also explained how everything worked very clearly.

We absolutely loved our stay at Regent House!! The location is perfect - walking distance to everything!! And the house is lovely, comfortable, and fully equipped with anything you could possibly need. We especially loved the back yard which had plenty of seating for the 6 of us! We spent quite a bit of time there, as the seating areas were shaded most of the day making it the perfect spot to relax in the morning or on a hot afternoon! And the best part - our hosts!! Melissa and Paul were lovely, informative, and super flexible with our arrival plans! We so appreciated all of that!Can't wait to go back!!

Wonderful!

The house was beautiful, the location was perfect, and the hosts were so nice and helpful. The house is just a block from the main area where restaurants and shops are located. The back yard is so inviting and peaceful for early morning coffee or a nighttime visit. We loved our stay there!

Perfect home. Perfect location.

In town for the ice wine festival with friends - 9 in total. House is impeccably furnished and even more spacious than the pictures suggest. Wonderful layout for relaxing with friends. I can only imagine the summers when it’s warm enough to also enjoy the garden. Kitchen was well appointed and open to the large family room with a fireplace. En suite bedrooms featured super comfortable beds and beautiful modern bathrooms.It’s located two short blocks from everything on the Main Street. Hosts were extremely friendly and provided a helpful list of some of their personal favorites around town (trust them - they have excellent taste!)Everyone in our group commented that it was a perfect house and location and we can’t wait to stay there again! If it’s available, hit reserve - you wont find anything better at any price!

Stunning Historic Home – Perfect for Our Team Retreat!

Our team of six women stayed at this beautiful 1836 home in Niagara-on-the-Lake for our annual retreat, and it was absolutely perfect! The home was spotless from top to bottom, which set the tone for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The layout was ideal, with 5 spacious bedrooms, each with its own private ensuite bathroom—an absolute luxury for a group stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring everyone had a great night’s sleep. The large kitchen was a standout feature, giving us plenty of space to prepare and enjoy meals together. The living areas were large, open, and inviting, giving us the perfect setting to gather, chat, and unwind. The location couldn’t have been better. We were within easy walking distance of everything Niagara-on-the-Lake has to offer — shops, restaurants, and the theatre — making it so convenient to explore the area. This home masterfully blends historic charm with modern comforts, and it exceeded all of our expectations. Highly recommend it for groups, retreats, or family getaways. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Our Family Reunion of Sorts

Regent House was perfect for our family get together to visit with our family Matriarch, my mother, who lives nearby in Welland. We were able to get our two children and their spouses, along with the three grandchildren ages 3, 6 and 8 they blessed us with, together for a visit with our 94-year-old mother/grandmother/great grandmother. Although originally from the Niagara peninsula, my wife and I now live in Ohio, while our son, his wife and children live in Indiana and daughter and her husband live in California. It's difficult to coordinate everyone's schedule, but we did it, and thoroughly enjoyed our time together with Mom and in Niagara-on-the Lake. Paul and Melissa's home was a perfect fit for us; 5 large bedrooms each with its' own full bathroom and plenty of closet space. Regent House was immaculately kept, furnished and stocked as was the yard. Two large driveways were an added bonus. The location in downtown NOTL allowed all of us to walk everywhere, including to the parks and lake which had spectacular views of the Toronto skyline. Needless to say, "EVERYTHING was PERFECT"!!

A Perfect Stay

The Regent House actually exceeds expectations. The published description, which is factually correct in every respect, just can't adequately represent the total experience the house provides. First, the house itself is immaculate, beautifully furnished, with every required (and some not required) amenity needed. The house is unusual in including 5 en-suite bedrooms which are more than adequate--unusual, in our experience, where one or two of the bedrooms are typically less desirable than the others. The house's facilities miss nothing--a more than adequate kitchen, comfortable sitting rooms, a stunning backyard with decks, chairs and tables, and adequate off-street parking. The location of the house is, literally, perfect, being within easy walking distance of everything--shopping, restaurants, golf, parks, the water, and, of course, the theater. Finally, the owners, Melissa and Paul, are beyond helpful in answering questions, finding answers when they don't have them at the tips of their fingers, and otherwise being immediately accessible regarding whatever is needed. Our group has been renting houses annually for 15 years and the consensus was that this was easily the best combined experience we've ever had--both in the quality of the residence, the attention of the ownership, and availability of things to do. If you're planning to rent a house in the Niagara area, do not pass up this one!

50th Wedding Anniversary Trip

The Regent House is absolutely fabulous! It was such a historic and beautiful home on a quiet, picturesque street yet a couple short blocks from the Main Street in downtown Niagara-On-The-Lake. Becoming increasingly rare these days were Melissa and Paul’s personal touch and warmth. They met us promptly our day of arrival to give us a full tour and show us how everything worked. All of the furniture, appliances and features were high end and very comfortable. All 5 bedrooms also had en-suite bathrooms which was huge convenience for the group. The kitchen was well stocked and we immediately felt at home. Paul and Melissa were highly communicative and responsive throughout.One of the things we appreciated the most is that the hosts don’t require the cumbersome cleaning, etc. that many VBRO hosts require upon check out. All they required was for the doors to be locked. This was such a breath of fresh air as so many hosts want you to clean extensively; even though you typically pay a huge cleaning fee regardless. Thank you and we will definitely stay again!

Perfect place!

This home is a real gem and Paul and Melissa are excellent hosts! Our family enjoyed relaxing in the comfy family room and back deck area. The beds were super cozy and everyone appreciated their own en suite bath.

Annual Biking Trip

Every year my friends and I pick a different location to bike ride and sightsee. This year we chose to visit Niagara-on-the-Lake. After careful research we decided to stay at Regent House. What a wise decision! The owners couldn’t have been nicer. They met us at the house and explained the history and nuances of this historic home. Regent House is beautiful and very comfortable. The bedrooms were luxurious and tastefully decorated. We all commented on how incredibly soft the sheets were. They thought of everything their guests might need. The exterior was equally as beautiful. There were flowers everywhere. The owner designed and maintains the beautiful landscaping. Every morning we had our coffee while enjoying the surrounding colors, inducing peace and tranquillity. We were also in walking distance to shopping and fine dining. Lovely wineries abound. We may have partaken in taste testing after riding. I could go on and on about this quaint vacation spot. It was a perfect getaway. Thank you, Tami Ramos

Niagara-on-the-Lake has always been a special place for us. Every time we came to stay it seemed that Life naturally began to slow down. You feel this as soon as you arrive and it gives you a chance to appreciate what life has to offer. There are so many unique and wonderful places to see in the Niagara area including live theatre, wineries, music festivals, historic forts, museums, shopping and the most amazing display of flowers in a town centre we have ever seen. We are also located on the horse and carriage route. Beautiful Horses pulling fancy carriages and their guests can be seen all through the day and evening as they stroll past our front door. It's simply magical to see and hear them....

We have always wanted to live in NIagara-on-the-Lake and in 2010 that dream came true.

Regent House is literally a 30 second walk to Queen Street which is the centre of Historic Niagara-on-the-Lake. We are also a 5 minute walk to all three of the Shaw Theatre venues. Within a 20 minute drive there are over 35 excellent wineries to choose from. There are also many fabulous restaurants within walking distance or a short drive.

If you like biking, hiking or running there are many trails and pathways that offer breathtaking scenery. A couple that we really enjoy are the Niagara Parkway and the Bruce Trail. The Niagara Parkway is a paved path that you can walk, cycle, roller blade or run on which follows the Niagara River from Niagara-on-the-Lake to Niagara Falls and all the way to Fort Erie. Along the way you pass historic monuments, parks, a butterfly conservatory and of course the Falls. The Bruce Trail is a UNESCO designated area 700km long that has so many beautiful waterfalls, wildlife and scenery. It's our goal to hike the entire length at some point.
