In the wilderness.

Very secluded, nice for a week of relaxation. Too secluded for a long stay. Belkis was great, took care of problems occurring in a timely manner. The food at Belkis restaurant is amazing, everything is freshly made from scratch. The ocean and beach are lovely. There’s no microwave in the kitchen, lots of ants and some mice, got to keep all your food in the fridge! We still had a great time, but 9 weeks is too long!

La calme dans une nature luxuriante

J’ai eu la chance de résider à la Casa Olas pendant presqu’un mois. Je me cherchais un endroit où je pourrais avoir la paix, le calme et ce en nature. C’est exactement ce que j’ai trouvé dans cette location. La maison est située sur un petit chemin très peu passant et elle est surtout sans voisin. Les chevaux et/ou les vaches s’y promènent tranquillement en harmonie avec l’environnement. La nature entourant la maison est vraiment apaisante. J’étais en vacances seule et jamais j’ai eu le moindre souci pour ma sécurité. La maison dispose d’un basic pour être capable de cuisiner nous-même nos repas ce qui est un gros plus. Sinon, je n’avais qu’à marcher un gros 3 minutes pour rejoindre l’écolodge ou la nourriture est excellente et à un prix très décent. Les petits Ranchos privés sont vraiment agréables et nous permettent de prendre nos repas devant l’océan et les surfeurs. Cette place regorge de belles personnes. La petite piscine est parfaite pour se rafraichir en pm ou avant le couché. J’ai bcp appréciée. Il est agréable de marcher dans le domaine qui est sécurisé à l’entrée par un surveillant. L’hôte, la manager qui était sur place, le jardinier ainsi que le chauffeur qui m’a été recommandé ; ont tous étés d’une gentillesse exemplaire. Les communications étaient rapides et efficaces. Je recommande cette location si vous cherchez le repos et le calme et ce hors zone touristique. Moi qui ne vais jamais deux fois à la même place ; j’y retournerai sans hésiter.

Lugar tranquilo y seguro para unas vacaciones relajadas. La casa esta infectada de hormigas, habian por todos lados incluso se metieron a los cuartos. Quisimos ir al rancho de los cardones y nos dijeron que debemos pagar $10 por persona solo por estar ahi, si es asi deberian especificar esto en el anuncio de la casa. La casa necesita algunos mantenimientos menores.

Independence & calm, beach is nearby and walkable to go. My kids enjoyed a lot in swimming pool. Dining room is also good to cook for meal. Have enjoyed enough during semana santa vacation.

Great place to stay near the beach

We loved the house, location, and price. Only 5 minute walk to Los Cardones beach. The house is well maintained and well equipped. We will return.

Great place to relax and surf!!!

We had a great time. During the day we hanged by the pool and enjoy the tranquility. We also went to the beach where we could enjoy the beautiful place. At night we also enjoyed the pool. It only has one hammock. I would recommend placing at least to hammocks. The current one is a little ware down. Overall we had a fantastic time.

Wonderful oasis

We spent two weeks at Casa Las Olas with our two young daughters. We had a wonderful trip. The pool was a lovely respite in the heat of the day. The house has a great lay-out with everything you need, including a well-equipped kitchen. We did all our own cooking and appreciated the ease with which we could do so. Hammocks, shade, a great outdoor shower, the beach just a five minute walk away, and Los Cardones next door with amazing massage therapists and good food! Todo fantastico y tranquilo! Leah was an amazing host: extremely responsive and helpful! Thank you, we hope to be back!

Second visit--great both times!

This was our second stay at Casa Olas. The house is a simple 1BR that has everything you need including a full kitchen. The A/C in the bedroom is a fantastic bonus. There are two fold out futon couches in the main room. The house is a short walk through a beautiful mangrove forrest to both the beach and Los Cardones Lodge. The best feature of the house is the pool! Our kids swam every day in the afternoons to cool off. A trio of frogs made an appearance each night. Casa Olas is perfect for a small family, couple or anyone who wants to kick back, relax, swim, surf and enjoy the tranquility. Highly recommend.

Paradise Found

Very comfortable home, just a brief stroll from Los Cardones (http://loscardones.com) and the best surfing in our lives. In the afternoon when the temperature is just a little warm, the pool is quite refreshing and there is ample space for sunbathing. The well appointed house catches the breezes quite well keeping it comfortable day and night and there are plenty of spots for relaxing. This is a great home for a family or a couple. Slightly secluded from the rest of the "neighborhood", it is also an ideal spot for a honeymoon or a 2nd honeymoon (or a yearly honeymoon). The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed most meals here with the occasional outing to Los Cardones. Daily surf, sunbathing, walks on the beach, reading and relaxing: it is an ideal place to get your tranquillo. If you must, wi-fi is in the house, but you should be too busy relaxing to care.

Beautiful house, perfect location; Paradise!

I was daydreaming today about our holiday at Casa Olas, and I realized I hadn't shared my review! We stayed here in late January, and the weather was amazing, the house was unbelievable, and it was super close to a beach with great waves for beginner/intermediate surfers. Janelle was sooo helpful. She met us even though our flight got in after midnight, and she did an amazing job of grocery shopping for us the very next day. Food is so cheap, and fresh and delicious! We couldn't see another home from our deck, and cooling off in that pool after a morning jog or a hot day at the beach was so nice. Luis cleaned our pool every day, twice a day sometimes, and he was really helpful and friendly, even taking care of a scorpion we came across. The people at Los Cardones were super helpful with board rentals, and helped me out when I got stung by a stingray not once, but twice! (purely bad luck, I was the only one who got hit). You need to book this place. I can't wait to come back and do it all again, maybe for 2 weeks next time!

Perfect Vacation

My husband and I and a couple of relatives stayed at this beautiful home for 4 nights. It is only about 1 1/2 to 2 blocks walk to the beach (which was very un crowded). It was really nice to be able to cool down in the pool. Jenelle and her husband (Dan) were very helpful and super friendly, and so was Luis, the young man who was taking care of the plants and cleaned the pool (from leaves) as necessary among other things. Los Cardones (a restaurant, a place to do yoga, rent surf boards and take surf classes, or to have a massage) was very convinient and staff was friendly, in particular Eddie, Olga, Maricela, Maria, Martha, Ana and Lucia. We Took advantage of the massage and of a few delicious meals. I recommend Casa Olas and would definitely come back. Thank you for a memorable vacation.

WooHoo!

You're crazy if you don't stay here! My husband and I stayed here for five nights celebrating his 40th, and we had the greatest vacation ever. Janelle and her husband, Dan, were helpful and friendly and made our stay perfect. Casa Olas is about a 3 minute walk to Los Cardones Surf Lodge where you can get a $20 massage on the beach, take a super relaxing yoga class, and get a meal or beer if you'd like! We surfed (you can rent boards), played on the beach, and very much enjoyed the pool and privacy of the house. Casa Olas is perfect for a quiet getaway, but we're already talking about coming back with our two girls at some point soon! This place is easy to get to, well-stocked, friendly, and it was the most relaxing getaway we've had in years! Thank you!

THE MOST RESTFUL VACATION WE EVER HAD....... YOU HAVE TO GO....

We stayed in this great home for 9 days and nights. We had the time of our lives. Being so close to Los Cordones Lodge was the perfect location. We walked the beach and fished everyday. The pool was my favorite part of the vacation as well as the air conditioning. Everyone was sooooo friendly. We loved watching the surfers. And a BIG THANKS to Janelle and her family for taking such good care of us. Captain Dan was great in the fishing department. He took my family fishing and they ever caught tons of fish.. FUN WAS HAD BY ALL......

Paradise!

We just returned from wonderful two night stay at Casa Olas. It's the perfect place to kick back and relax, whether reading a book in a hammock, taking a refreshing dip in the very "cool" pool, or taking a short stroll to the beach. Loved the private and tranquil setting. The whole vibe at Finca Del Mar and Los Cordones Ecolodge is what we founding so alluring. Loved it so much that we decided to buy a lot and build our own piece of paradise! Janelle, thank you for the ride and making us feel so welcomed. P.S. Be sure to take advantage of the $20 one hour massage at the ecolodge. It was heavenly:)

Casa las Olas A MUST

Cozy home in the most excellent location! My husband and I took our 11 month old here for 5 nights. We couldn't ask for a better vacation. We were looking for relaxation and got it! The pool was perfect for cooling off and lounging. The hammocks encouraged naps! Friendly Iguanas relaxed along with us as there were many! The Ecolodge, a quick 3 minute walk, was a great place to chill whether taking in the beach, a yoga session, a massage or dining. The staff is great! A big thanks to Janelle, property manager! Janelle- You are a fantastic host/ manager with a wonderful family! We will be back !!!

Casa Olas delight

Casa Olas is dreamy. We loved the house - the layout is simple, airy, clean and all around lovely. The house is so, so great. The pool makes this property, though. The house is a super short walk to the beach and Los Cardones surf lodge. The caretaker and her husband go above and beyond. I look forward to another visit to this house!!!

Casa Las Olas- Private Heaven!

Wow....we just got back today, and are already planning our next trip! We had the most amazing, inspring, relaxing, time. Casa Olas is very clean, the pool is amazing, the beach is 100 yards thru a beautiful mangrove forest with iquanas everywhere! Los Cardones is the surf lodge at the beach, the staff of 18 are the most kind, loving, caring people we have ever met. food was amazing, the rentals are awesome..ex: boogie boards=$5 per day! Ride horses on beach for only $15! We will be back very soon, and I encourage you to give it a try. very safe, amazing place waiting for you! Brandon and Melissa

Sweet digs!

Great pool! Private and secluded piece of heaven! Lovely home. Can't wait to get back. Surf lodge walking distance good food, and massages are wonderful beachside (and cheap!).

We fell in love with this perfect piece of surfers paradise during our travels several years ago, before we started our family (that has recently grown to 4). We built this home to suit all of our families needs. This is our little slice of heaven. Simplicity at its finest with abundant sunshine, waves, private pool and raw nature.

The uncrowded beach break for surfing and quiet serenity of the location, Eco-friendly community, and privateness.
About the nearby surf breaks:
There are several breaks near-by and within walking distance. Theres a left rock/reef-point break about 20 minutes from the house. When the swell direction is right, it can be a predictable. consistent and barrelling. This break is suited for experienced surfers to play. Out front, is a fun beach break on sandy bottom, that is always just F-U-N! About a 10 minute drive, or 50 minute walk is 'Osochillo' beach break that often has clean breaking A frame waves that are spectacular during the 'Dawn Patrol' early sun-rise at medium to high tide.

Less than a 5 minute walk from the house is the beautiful long stretches of Nica beachland with the worlds most amazing waves for playing in, as well as Los Cordones Surf Camp Restaurant and Bar that serves up big servings of fresh seafood, pizzas, and just about anything else you are craving. They offer an all inclusive deal, or a la carte. Los Cordones offers relaxing and deep tissue massages for $15/ hr, and yoga in the private rancho overlooking the ocean.
