Beautiful custom built home, centrally located and dog friendly.

Sunset Sisters at The Walker House is a brand new, beautiful open concept home with three bedrooms and two full baths. The house sits on four plus acres of lawn,fields and woods. Enjoy the firepit and grill in the backyard. Sunset Sisters is centrally located on the Island. It allows for easy access to the popular event venues, Edgewood Farms, Aragosta and the Island Country Club.
1 dog allowed with pet fee
Primary renter must be 25 or older and staying as guest. No third party rentals.
No smoking or vaping on premises
This property requires an e-signed rental agreement which will be emailed after the booking. We also require a $500 security hold. This hold will appear 2 days before arrival and automatically be released within 3 days after checkout.
Our property manager may show up unannounced to mow the lawn or pick up trash. His name is Chad.
Security camera at entrance to walk in basement. Records video/audio 24/7. Used for occupancy and pet compliance.

The Walker House is an immaculate, beautiful, comfortable, spacious, well-appointed, quiet, peaceful place to stay. The hosts are that perfect blend of unobtrusive yet available if needed, and have anticipated all a visitor could want or need. Clear instructions, descriptions, and info provided. Easy self check-in and check-out. Situated on a country lane, the home’s many windows offer views of trees, meadows, and even a local deer family. The place feels nicely secluded and private, yet is centrally located on the island. We relaxed indoors and on the deck, cooked delicious meals in the large & well-stocked kitchen, enjoyed the luxury of two full modern bathrooms, and slept soundly in the comfortable beds. An exceptional place to stay - Thanks!

The house is beautiful, comfortable & centrally located to all our paddle places. Seeing the deer family at dusk from the dining room window while eating dinner was an added bonus. Scenic outdoor deck to take in the sun during the day. Everything you need is right here in the well stocked kitchen. Would highly recommend.

A Wonderful Vacation Rental

The home and grounds were wonderful and the location was conveniently between Blue Hill and Stonington. We had everything we needed and we appreciated the communications with Gail and Sue before we arrived and while we were there made our visit extra special. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the directions to operate the many amenities provided by the owners were clear and concise. We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay for our first visit to Maine and will certainly make every attempt to stay here on our next visit. One last thing: the gift of the jar of jelly along with the postcard note was a very kind gesture and made us feel quite at home. THANK YOU!

Beautiful 3 bedroom home

The home is brand new with light and airy colors. There are black accents to contrast with the beautiful lighter floors and pine ceilings. The 2 baths are new, roomy and tastefully decorated. The owners stock the house with dog items, s'mores, and spices. The yard is not complete yet but it has a nice picnic table with umbrella.

Family Trip

We loved everything about this house! The host was more than amazing and made it so easy for us to have fun and explore. We had everything we could have ever wanted/needed during our stay. I really hope we are able to visit again sometime!

My sister Susan and I took over the family home in 2021. We initially intended to renovate the old home. After a few too many issues, we decided to rebuild. We are both extremely happy with the new home. We plan on landscaping the yard and adding a large back deck in the Fall.
My husband and I raised our three children on Deer Isle. We have relocated to Greenville, ME but love to get back to the Island whenever we can.
