Have fun with the whole family at this cozy cottage less than one mile from some of the best beaches in Southwest Michigan! The open floor plan and backyard deck make this a great getaway for a family or group of friends.

You are only:
1 min to Harbor Shores Golf Course (named 2024 Michigan Golf Course of the Year)
2 min to Rocky Gap Beach
6 min to Silver Beach and St Joseph's fabulous downtown

This home has enough room for 5-6 people with 1300 square feet of living space and it can fit 3 cars in the driveway.

Here's what you may not love:
The house has only one bathroom.
This is a cape cod style from the 1940s and the stairs are not very wide. Due to the nature of cape cod styles, the upstairs is warmer during the day. However, once the sun goes down, the upstairs rooms are very comfortable. In order to improve air circulation, we provide fans.

~ Harbor Shores Cottage Details and Amenities ~

Kitchen: It is well equipped with utensils, pots, pans, hand mixer, coffee maker (Keurig & regular) along with all the appliances you will need for your vacation including a dishwasher (complimentary pods).

Laundry: For your convenience there is a washer and a dryer (complimentary pods & dryer sheets)

Living Room: The living area is adjacent to the kitchen and dining area, all on the first level. You will find plenty of comfortable seating (2 chairs and a sofa for 3. The living room has a 55" smart TV that you can use to log into your streaming services.

Bedrooms: ALL bedrooms have BLACKOUT curtains.
Bedroom 1: The first bedroom is next to the bathroom. It has a queen size bed, two nightstands and a 50" smart TV.
Bedroom 2: First floor bedroom on the left as you step into the house. It has a twin size bed along with a nightstand and storage.
Bedroom 3: Second floor bedroom with one twin size bed, nightstand and cubby.
Bedroom 4: Second floor bedroom with two twin size beds, nightstands and four open cubbies.

Bathroom: Located on the first floor next to the master bedroom. It has a tub-shower combination and we provide a hair dryer, bath towels and shampoo.

Wifi: Free wifi

~ Outdoor features ~

Deck: Enjoy relaxing moments on the deck behind the house which comfortably seats 4-6 people. It is great for drinking your morning coffee or enjoying your meal outside.

Patio: After a day at the beach, enjoy yourself at the fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs.

Backyard: There is plenty of room for spikeball, cornhole or backyard game of your choice!

We will not rent to groups under the age of 25.

What a wonderful place to stay! This adorably decorated home had everything we needed to feel comfortable. I always appreciate extra, thoughtful touches like plentiful hooks for towels in the bathroom, spots to place luggage and coffee making options -- and this one has it all! Even a thoughtful welcome note and bottle of wine to kick off our vacation!

Lovely Cottage

We went for a girls trip and couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The hosts were more than accommodating and kind. The house was very inviting with no detail overlooked. We’d love to come back for next year’s trip!

This property was clean and had lots of amenities. Even though it is on the smaller size, it felt roomy and was nicely laid out. The property owners provided enough start up goods that we really didn’t need run out and get anything for our weekend stay. They also left us a welcome card and bottle of wine which was a nice touch. It was close to beaches, parks, and lots of cute restaurants. My only regret is that we didn’t have more time to explore!

Annual Summer beach vacay

We love our week away at the beach each summer and the cottage was a perfect place close to the beaches of the shopping. Great little backyard, comfy beds. Everything we needed will definitely book again.

Cozy home

My sisters and I had an amazing stay here! The house is cozy and had everything we needed for a 3 day stay. Very clean, nice back yard and patio, and fun beach decor. Close to beaches and shopping. Communication with host was excellent before booking and during our stay. Would stay here again if in the area.

Great place to stay

This property met all our needs. My wife and I stayed with three grandchildren. It was very clean, had all the amenities we needed, ample room for five. Easy TV access, effective cooling system downstairs, ceiling fans in living room and queen bedroom. Seven minutes from Silver Beach, our main attraction. Ryan responded to all communications quickly. Two coffee makers (drip and Keurig). The kids stayed in the bedrooms upstairs. Enjoyed the back porch/deck in the mornings. There's a basket of beach equipment in the backyard, the kids had a blast taking the three boogie boards to the beach. Very nice fire pit in back but we couldn't use it due to the weather. We really appreciated Ryan giving us a late checkout. Overall a wonderful stay. Two things that could be improved: a light over the bathroom sink, and a less-noisy window air conditioner upstairs.

Mothers 50th birthday celebration

This was the perfect place for our celebration. They let us check in early, the house was absolutely adorable and very clean. They left us a special note letting us know how welcomed we were to their home. They also left us a complimentary bottle of wine. This house had everything we needed; bottles of shampoo & conditioner, plenty of towels, yard games, bug repellents, marshmallow skewers, nice private backyard with a grill, fully stocked kitchen, fans for each bedroom and more. They have thought of everything. This home was also located close to everything. Would definitely book this home again.

Family Trip to Michigan

My family and I traveled from Kentucky and Missouri, to Chicago for the night and on up into Benton Harbor, Michigan for 2 nights. We enjoyed exploring a new place. St. Joseph was adorable, we had a perfect beach day. While there, we visited the shops, stores and restaurants in the area. The home was adorable and suited us perfectly. Everything was clean. Check in was a breeze. Beds were comfy. We grilled some store bought fresh fish on the gas grill. Appliances were clean and looked brand new! Plenty of dishes and utensils. We would love to come back when we have more time! We loved it!

Wonderful Family Getaway - perfect house for a fun and easy trip!

We had such a great time! We LOVE St. Joes & this house was a dream! First of all, it’s so cute! The decor is adorable, very beach and vacationy. The house had everything we needed. We have 3 young kids, two still in pack n plays and one newly in a “big bed.” This house for our needs perfectly! The twins slept in one of the upstairs rooms, there was more than enough room for two pack n plays and our other slept in a twin bed in the other upstairs room. We were very comfy in the master and there was a 4th bedroom that we didn’t even use as a family of 5! The bathroom was really nice. Great shower pressure, great for a bathtub for the kids + LOTS of bath towels & beach towels! The kitchen and living room were both spacious and welcoming. There’s a fenced in very private feeling backyard and back deck. We definitely plan on staying here again! The location was awesome. Such a short drive to everything and super convenient. We went to silver beach, Triscornia beach, and Rocky Gap Beach. Rocky gap is less than 3 minutes from the house! We also went the Shafer Farm LLC (about 20 minutes away) to go apple picking and loved it. Highly recommend Silver Beach Pizza and Silver Harbor Brewery while you’re in town. The hosts were so welcoming and had great communication. We had one question and they texted us back right away. They made us feel more than at home and left us a very sweet card and gift! 10/10 recommend staying here! We can’t wait to come back!

Currently, we are living in Indiana but love making weekend trips to Michigan throughout the year and this home has been wonderful for our family to enjoy together! We love sharing it with others and offering recommendations on outdoor activities, restaurants and wineries in the area. It truly is one of the most beautiful areas of the midwest!

We love this area because of its proximity to several of the top beaches in Michigan. There is so much to do within 5 minutes of our property - golfing, biking, kayaking or a day at the beach! The restaurants in both St Joseph and Benton Harbor are outstanding. Our neighborhood is safe and extremely close to Lake Michigan.

This cozy cottage is perfect for a family, couples getaway or girls weekend. With 4 bedrooms, each person can have their own space while still being close. Please read the property description to get a better idea of the bedroom layout and amount of people. A trailhead for walking and biking the Harbor Shores Nature & Fitness Trail System is 0.25 miles down the road! North Pier Brewery is within walking distance. The Arts District of Benton Harbor is a 2 minute drive. If you enjoy exploring lakeshore communities, this is a great place to stay! On the other hand, if simply relaxing is what you need, our home has a comfortable living room and spacious deck in the back!
