Charming newly renovated cottage exuding warmth and comfort,boasting a delightful wrap-around covered porch adorned with patio furniture,rocking chairs,picnic table,and a charcoal grill,ideal for all weather enjoyment.The cozy sleeping loft features a full-size bed,while the main bedroom downstairs offers a queen-size bed and a spacious closet.Amenities include a washer,dryer,dishwasher,WiFi,and a SmartTV for streaming.Accommodating up to 5 guests,with sleeping space for four and a convenient cot for a fifth person.Located just 5 miles from Nolin Lake State Park and its scenic beach and hiking trails,10 minutes from Blue Holler Mud Rides and ATV trails,and a short 30-minute drive from both Mammoth Cave and Beech Bend Amusement Park.The neighborhood provides a community boat ramp,with additional parking available on-site for boats or trailers.While the cabin is not waterfront,it is in close proximity to the lake.Enjoy evenings around the fire pit in the serene wooded surroundings.

We stayed at this property over the weekend. We chose it based on the reviews. Which I'm sure many people make decisions on travel properties by reading reviews just as we did. However, some of the items in the reviews we found to not be quite the same for our stay. We definitely can't give this place 5 stars.Overall for what we paid it didn't match the 5 star reviews. We give it 3 stars. The hosts were really great about messaging us and answering questions. We did have an issue with the shower not draining properly. We messaged the hosts and they responded immediately. Less than ten minutes later they had a maintenance guy out to fix it.The bedroom downstairs has very thin see thru curtains. Anyone can see right inside and at night I was not comfortable. We ended up putting blankets over the windows. The downstairs bedroom has a closet but its where the cleaning company shoves everything from the vacuum to toilet paper. It was just thrown in. AwfulCleanliness---in some areas--- NO in others. There were lots of cobwebs hanging in corners in the bedroom downstairs. Cobwebs hanging in the overhead doorway of sliding barn door going into the bathroom. Dryer and washer were dirty with sand and roþcks in the dryer. Pots in lazy Susan in corner by coffee pot were nasty. Coffee pot had to be completely cleaned before my husband could use it.

The cabin is tucked into a quiet neighborhood. It was peaceful in the evening and has a nice firepit for evening fires. The cabin was comfortable for four adults with indoor and outdoor seating. The cabin is about a 40 minute drive to the visitors center at Mammoth Cave National Park.

The cabin itself is great and is well-air conditioned and equipped. Our three kids loved the loft and it was nice having kitchen to have breakfast in before going out to explore Mammoth Cave and go horseback riding. We also liked the porch, but were not out on it much, as we discovered there was a hornet’s nest in the bird feeder on the porch. The neighborhood is fairly run down, and some of the roads are blocked off as “private”, so we couldn’t drive around to see the lake. We had planned to utilize the Nolin Lake State Park beach while we were there in mid-July, but were surprised to learn the beach had been closed since April when there were damaging floods. There was no immediate indication when googling the beach that it was closed, so it was a disappointment. We ended up leaving a day early because we’d run out of family activities to do. If you are looking for fresh(ish) food, make sure to pack it and bring it with you, as the shops within a 40 min drive are really limited with their offerings.

Mammoth Cave Adventures w/ a quiet cottage

We thought the cottage was quiet and secluded. Everything was easily accessible and the porch was perfect for a morning cup of coffee. The firepit was far enough from the house to not make everything smell Smokey. Wildlife was beautiful to include a skink (lizard), deer, cat and a screech owl at night. The Lakeside Cafe at the end of the road was absolutely delicious! Pizzas were amazing and cinnamon rolls and breakfast casseroles were scrumptious before heading out to the caves.

Quaint little cabin. Beds were comfortable. AC worked well during the heat wave. Deer visited the property daily.Locals were friendly. Nice little restaurant nearby. Grocery stores were few and far between.

Nice gateway for Mammoth Cave NP

Great cabin for a short summer vacation in Mammoth Cave. Very easy check in, check out process. One of the cleanest vrbo we had stayed in. Very comfortable and nicely decorared. Keep in mind, driving to the park visitor center is about 40 minutes. That is where all cave tours start. We really enjoyed biking and hiking in the park as well. Also, keep in mind that Nolin lake park is closed due to flood damage. I didnt realized it and was kind of dissapointed that we couldnt use their beach area and hiking trails. Overall it was a great stay. Recommended.

Mammoth Cave Family Trip

Overall enjoyed our stay at Robin’s Nest. Peaceful place to relax after a day of exploring! The place was spacious for a family of four. Would stay there again if ever in Mammoth Cave, KY area again.

Perfect weekend getaway

Our family just stayed for two nights here to visit Mammoth Cave and it was the perfect cabin. We spent a ton of time on the giant covered porch enjoying the outdoors and fresh air. The kids loved playing and sleeping up in the loft and the adults appreciated the kitchen with all we needed to cook dinners.

Passing through / Mammoth Cave

We stayed at Robin’s Nest on our way from Florida to Illinois. This is a lovely cabin, and we really enjoyed it (despite an unusual amount of rainfall for this area, April 2025). Our host was accommodating and responded quickly to my questions. The house is has most everything you’ll need. We would stay again! Things to know: The county is dry so BYOB, there is a DG Market close by, a small grocery store is 15-20 drive away. Because we were road tripping I had a cooler with food supplies so we could cook in.We loved Lakeside Cafe for breakfast (Bonnie & Daryl are great) and Webb’s Roadside Mart/Grill on HWY 78. Seriously the BEST ribeye steak dinner!

Relaxing getaway by the Lake and National Park

My daughter and I thoroughly enojoyed our stay here for her spring break. This was a nice location to the Mammoth Caves, which is worth a trip if you have never been! But, even better, this location is nestled in by Nolin Lake, which is so peaceful and quiet. The owner is great, they respond quickly and go the extra step to make sure you enjoy your stay! ggreat! Weekend Getaway

As advertised, it was a nice comfortable stay. Neighborhood got a little noisy with other vacationers aroound but we were in the off season and only lasted a few minutes. Close enough to many attractions but far enough away to not feel crowded.
