Welcome to Idyllic Pocono, our thoughtfully designed chalet featuring high-end furnishings and our favorite tech gadgets like SMEG appliances. Perfect for larger groups and families of all ages, this vacation home in the Big Bass Lake community is packed with amenities to keep everyone entertained.

Our chalet spans three floors with a large loft, arcade game room, theater room, and well stocked kitchen+coffee bar, as well as an amazing outdoor space with covered patio, 7-seat hot tub, barrel sauna, multiple fire pits, ensuring everyone in your group finds something to enjoy. Whether you’re an outdoor adventurer, video gamer, music lover, bookworm, wellness enthusiast, karaoke star, poker shark, Lego maniac, gourmet chef, or coffee aficionado, we’ve got you covered – rain or shine. Oh, and bring the electric car.

With the purchase of daily/weekly amenity passes, guests may enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including fishing, kayaking, and swimming in nearby Larsen Lake (and others), as well as other amenities like beaches, playgrounds, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis / pickle ball / basketball courts, and a clubhouse with great restaurant, making it a perfect year-round destination.

My family and I stayed here the weekend after Christmas. We've been visiting the area for years and this is by far the nicest property we've stayed at. They had a sweet basket of treats and sparkling juice waiting for us. There were so many nice touches...throw blankets for getting cozy, robes and slippers in the Primary for the hot tub, TONS of coffee options, etc. The hot tub was clean, we all enjoyed that. The game room was a hit with my 8 year old grandson. We also enjoyed watching TV on that huge sofa together. The only issue I had was we needed a BIG bowl for salad and a BIG saucepan for bacon, but we made do! Everything was spotless and I'd 100% recommend this beautiful property. Thanks Kevin!

Great retreat!

I booked this home for a moms weekend away, there were 10 women and it slept us all comfortably. Host had great communication and the home and property grounds were clean and well kept. I’d recommend to a friend and I would definitely book again!

Awesome Stay

The house was exactly as pictured. We enjoyed the jacuzzi, sauna, and game room to the fullest. Everything we needed was provided in our stay. Kevin was so helpful and courtesy. I am definitely looking forward to staying again.

Eleven stayed: Twenty-two thumbs up!

This is a wonderful house with so much to do both inside and out! We loved all of the games and the fire pit with the Adirondack chairs. Our biggest regret is that we were only there for a long weekend. Would highly recommend this house for families and kids.

Nice place, responsive host

It’s a beautiful property in a nice community. We watched a mother deer and her babies all week from the deck and used the kayaks. The host provided plenty of entertainment and supplies like a pop-up changing table and high chair that came in handy. The host was very quick to respond to questions and sent a helpful list of suggestions for entertainment and dining out that we took advantage of. My only complaints were that the air conditioners could not keep up with the late July heat and the water pressure left something to be desired. All in all a good trip.

Thanks again for your kind words and it was a pleasure hosting your family. As you mention, we have not experienced a summer this hot in the Poconos before. With the blistering 90 degree heat, it is certainly a challenge to keep such a large space cool. We have since upgraded the AC units in the living room and upstairs bedroom this week. Additionally, I did have my cleaner check the faucets in the house and did not notice any downward change in water pressure. Regardless, we will be changing the water filter to our well this week as sediment build up can impact water pressure delivery. Thanks again and all the best!

Great house with lots of activities

Had a large group for a family get together weekend. The house had lots of activities at the house and was set up well for a large group. Nearby there were good adventuring options, including fishing, hiking, horse riding and boating. The host was very helpful and the EV charger was a nice added bonus given limited charging options nearby.

Wonderful time with family!

Our family traveled from different parts of the country for a special weekend together. We had a wonderful time at this charming chalet. We enjoyed the many games and activities that are available right on the property. The occasional deer sighting was a bonus. The community was peaceful and nice to take a long walk. Kevin is an awesome host that is very responsive to inquiries and genuinely wants his guests to have the best experience possible. I highly recommend Idyllic Pocono. It is spacious, well stocked and offers many amenities. The beds were so comfortable, I got the best sleep!

We had a fantastic stay! We came out on MLK Jr. weekend for my 40th bday with my best gay friends. This place hit exactly what we wanted and then some. We got lucky because it snowed gently all weekend, which made the location picturesque. However, that meant most outdoor activities were out the window. With a warm and cozy place, we hung by the fire place, dipped in the jacuzzi and played games all day. The place is huge, could have brought a few more people if we wanted. The sauna was a great addition after the jacuzzi. The rooms were warm and the beds inviting. No one had to wait for a bathroom and the hot water never had an issue. At worst, the water pressure could have been a little bit better in one of the bathrooms, but it almost gave the place a little more character. The kitchen was great! They had all sorts of coffees and different ways to make them. When we cooked, they had everything we needed. Though, if you want to bake there aren't a lot of mixing bowls. Not a big deal, we worked around it no problem.The host, Kevin, was incredibly responsive. He shared information in a timely manner, and even went above and beyond. He shared great places to eat, activities to do and best practices to make the place better. Overall with the snow, the fantastic house and area, we got a lot of great pics with each other and created great memories! Would recommend staying here anytime!

Fantastic host and wonderful experience!

The property was as described with tons of amenities, and the Big Bass Lake community is tightly run (which has its pros and cons) with great facilities and tons of things to do. For summer rentals, be aware that only three bedrooms in the house have air conditioning units as advertised in the listing, but the fans throughout the main living space are a big help and it was pretty comfortable. Also, the water pressure is a little weak, but it gets the job done.. Kevin was a phenomenal host. He provided all the information we could hope for, shepherding us through registration and check-in, was very responsive to any questions, gave us tips on the local area, and even left treats for us to enjoy on our arrival. After we had left, Kevin also went above and beyond to help return some things we had left behind. A great experience overall and highly recommended!

Our family vacation at Idyllic Pocono-Aug 2024

Unfortunately we were here during hurricane Debby- if ever our family would be stuck inside again during a hurricane, this house would be it. We thoroughly enjoyed the downstairs entertainment room, it had so much to offer even for adults. When it was not raining we enjoyed fishing from the near by dock and of course the deer. This house was perfect in everyway and the quiet beautiful surroundings allowed our family to enjoy our time together. The beds were very comfortable. There was plenty of room for 7 adults and a toddler. Our family has rented many times in the past but we have never had such a wonderful experience and awesome host. Kevin was extremely detailed in responses to questions and in a very timely manner. He made check in and departure very simple. His attention to detail catered to our specific family needs and more. You wont find a better host and amenities. Highly recommend and would stay again. Sue even for adults.

We love hosting friends and family, exploring new places, binging on Netflix, and enjoying great food, from Michelin restaurants to hole-in-the-walls off the beaten path. Having toiled away in the corporate world for nearly two decades now, the stresses of work have really worn us down. We decided to create an escape for families like ours to repair and recharge the soul. We found this in the Poconos and hope that you'll find our "home away from home" an idyllic place for you to enjoy, relax, and recover as well.

NOTE FOR FALL BOOKINGS: The lake remains open all year round, but after Oct 15th, we are required by the HOA to move our boats back to the chalet. We will provide a boat dolly to transport them back to the lake (the kayaks are 8' and will also fit in an SUV).
