We’ve stayed in PCB before and in different properties. Based on the reviews and comments, we were “sold” on this condo at the Celadon. To the defense of the owners, we never contacted them after checking in as there wasn’t much they could probably do at that point. Here are a few things you need to consider and know before you book or once you arrive.
I’ll start with the “cons”….and end on a positive note.
Cons:
1). #206 is literally at the entrance and exit of the parking garage cat-walk and since the elevators in the garage were broken the entire week, people are forced to use the ones NEXT DOOR to #206. Therefore you literally will hear all 20+ floors going up and down ALL THE TIME. Just be aware these are the only elevators and you will hear it non-stop.
2). Of the 3 elevators only 1 worked the entire time. When fixing the elevators at 7am, you will think they are actually in your condo working through your wall.
3). Keep in mind as mentioned in the instructions after purchase that the beach chairs are first come first serve and therefore you have to get up as early as 7:30am to reserve them with the chair guy. Make sure to tip the chair guy well and he will take care of you.
4). There are quite a few items that are either not supplied or will be at a minimum during your stay:
Dish soap - none
Kleenex - none
Ziploc-none
Napkins -none
Toilet paper- they supply half used rolls (cheap from Walmart) and not enough for 2 people for 7 days)
Scrub for dishes - none
Hand soap - none (1 small tiny bar left in guest bathroom)
Laundry detergent - none
Sweetener, salt, spices - none
Strainer - none
Pots & pans - still dirty with previous usage
Plastic containers for food storage
Pillows- bring your own as the ones provided are seriously disgusting! Stained and horrible!
Blanket for a king size bed- there wasn’t one so we had to use two small ones from the bunk bed area to keep us warm.
Be sure to vacuum upon arrival as the cleaning crew did not, we found moldy food, wrappers and a lot of dirt under the master bed and on the floor.
5). It is located at street level (2nd floor) and master is on the street side so you will hear every car, dragster, motorcycle, cop, fire engine and drunk person walking down the street.
Pros (good news)
1) parking on the 2nd floor and the proximity to your room is nice (if desired)
2). The quiet end of the beach, although not quiet, it was quieter than the pier
3). View was beautiful
