Located close to all that we needed for the weekend. Enjoyed the back yard with the fire pot and deck. Minor issue was the stair treads being a little narrow. Definitely recommend this place!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the cleanliness of the property did not meet your expectations. We would like to provide some context regarding your stay. We were pleased to accommodate your request for a complimentary early check-in, allowing you to access the property four hours earlier than our standard check-in time. As a result, our cleaning team had a significantly shorter window than usual to prepare the property. While we always strive to maintain our normal cleaning standards, the shortened turnover time can present additional challenges. Regarding the cobwebs, your stay occurred during our rainy season, when cobwebs can develop very quickly. We take cleanliness concerns seriously, and photos of the specific areas referenced would have been helpful in allowing us to validate the concerns and address them appropriately with our cleaning team. We also want to clarify that our house rules permit one pet within the specified weight limit. During your stay, two dogs were brought to the property, both exceeding the stated weight requirement. Pets are also not permitted to be left unattended. Following your departure, our cleaning team found an excessive amount of pet hair on the furniture, covers, sheets, etc. which required additional cleaning and preparation for the next guests. Additionally, upon arrival, one of the guests was observed intentionally making an offensive hand gesture toward the property's exterior doorbell/security camera. The camera is disclosed in the listing and is installed for the safety and security of the property and its guests. We always strive to maintain a respectful and welcoming environment for everyone. We value our guests and make every effort to be accommodating, including providing complimentary early check-in when our schedule allows. We also encourage guests to contact us during their stay if they encounter any cleanliness concerns so that we have the opportunity to address them promptly. We appreciate the feedback and will continue working with our cleaning team to maintain the property to the highest standards possible.

Very nice kitchen. Good dining room space but would have liked more lighting. Did not use larger room downstairs for gathering.Will look for more wide open spaces and living room type set up next time.Large cobweb with spider greated us at the door. Cushions for outdoor space on deck were left outside to dry.

We also appreciate your note about the lighting — while there are currently three lights in the dining room, we’ll be adding more to make it even brighter and more comfortable for future stays. Just to clarify, the outdoor cushions were kept inside and were dry upon your arrival. We did notice they were left outside when you checked out, so we’re not sure if that may be what you were referring to in your comment. Our doorbell camera also shows that the cobweb was not present at check-in but appeared later during your stay, which can sometimes happen quickly during the rainy season. We truly value your comments, as they help us keep improving the experience for all of our guests.

We had a very disappointing experience with this VRBO rental. Before our stay, we unfortunately had a death of a horse and needed to cancel. The host declined our request and only offered a 50% refund, which put us in a difficult position. Since we couldn’t recover most of our money, we decided to go ahead with the trip anyway. Upon arrival, the cleanliness of the home was far below expectations. There were dishes in the drying rack on the counter. Newspapers all over the counter. Dirty sponge in the sink for cleaning dishes. There were cobwebs in the vents, and in the corners, the sheets had stains on them, and the towels were old and worn to the point where they felt more like rags while we initially tried to overlook these issues. Additional concerns made the state even more frustrating. We were charged $$per day for our service dog along with an extra cleaning fee, which was both surprising and concerning additionally, when we were requested a late checkout, we were told it would only be possible for an extra $$$ The layout of the home is also quite awkward, with no comfortable area to sit and spend time together. The beds were very uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good nights sleep. The only positive aspect of the property was the backyard, which is nicely fenced in. Unfortunately, that was not enough to make up for the overall experience. We would not stay here again.

I lived in Rockford/Loves Park for the last 30 years and I absolutely love it here. I enjoy being outdoors, but at the same time working on home projects somehow relaxes me. I coach different sports since my son enjoys all sorts of activities. We love road trips and have been to 41 states with only a few more to go to visit them all.

The home is in a very quiet neighborhood with a very friendly atmosphere. The area boasts convenient access to various amenities, including shops, restaurants, and recreational facilities, making daily errands and leisure activities easily accessible. The presence of nearby bike paths encourages outdoor activities, with many residents enjoying daily walks and bike rides.​ The trails at Rock Cut State Park are also very accessible being that you can easily walk there as it's only a couple of blocks away.

The house sits on a huge lot and it's perfect for the kids to enjoy activities outside in the big yard, but also a big driveway to enjoy playing basketball or bags. If you rather stay indoors, there is plenty of space for you to have quiet time with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms.
