I came to Madison for less than fun reasons. My mom needed to be at a health facility for a special ventilator that her hometown didn't have. I was living in Thailand at the time. I packed up my 2 year old boy and we rented this house for a couple weeks to oversee my mom's care. My husband was traveling at the time for work and so it made for a busy life with a toddler, some work to do in my spare time :), visiting my mom regularly and so forth. This house was perfect for a number of reasons. It's well stocked with bedding, kitchen supplies, even spices, garbage bags, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dishwasher pellets for the dishwasher and for washing by hand. It has super easy to use appliances. It's all high quality. No hassles and nothing caused me more work. It's a one floor house and smaller than what I visualized from the pictures on line, but that was fine for us. I told the owners I was coming with a two year old boy. They had a height chair, a travel crib, and a gate to block the stairs to the basement set up (The basement is nice and finished with a tv and fireplace - great for not making noise after the toddler was asleep). I didn't have to bring that stuff from across the world on this trip. They even had toys in the basement that I used. They lent me a small kid pool for a few days when the weather was nice . They invited me over to where they live where they have chickens he could chase and talk too. The price was higher than what I usually pay for a house rental, but I wanted easy for a difficult time and I received that. Oh and the internet was great. It handled everything with my distance work and my Netflix addiction after the little guy went to sleep. The driveway is long and great for parking. And it was a 15 minute drive to the hospital and a 10 minute drive to where my niece goes to graduate school. All in all, I give this 5 star. Did I mention really nice owners? They were really nice and I felt safe during my time when I was alone in a new place learning as I went. Thank you!
