Just an hour from Denver this stunning 1500 square foot, 2 bed/2bath cabin is situated on almost 2 acres of pristine land bordering Golden Gate Canyon State Park.

!!BIG WIN!! The Golden Canyon State Park- IS OUR BACK YARD! Hiking is endless- 42 miles of it. Sledding and snow tubing on the park’s snowy white slopes is also popular during the winter season, along with ice fishing & ice skating!!

Feeling like some night-life FUN!? Black Hawk & Central City's casinos, restaurants & nightlife are all within 15 minutes of our cabin. Amazing food, cocktails, sports games, gambling, and fun are all our your fingertips here!!!

ADVENTURE in the mountains at our cabin is ENDLESS. Our peaceful, cozy home-base is equipped to feel just like you're back in your own personal home! We take pride in having our cabin extremely well stocked. You wont feel like you’re at just another basic hotel or just another corporate owned VRBO with the bare minimum... but you WILL FEEL as comfy and relaxed as possible with such great amenities & stock here so that everyone can make the most out of their escape in the Carlson Cabin!

It’s WINTER SEASON at the Carlson Cabin: Come enjoy an EPIC winter season with us.

We are ONLY 15 Minutes from Eldora Mountain - the local mountain in Nederland- & just over an hour away from the biggest resorts like: Keystone, Copper & Loveland!! (Aspen & Vail are only about 2 hours away as well ) Day passes & access to the local mountain Eldora are affordable and easy to access as it’s not as overcrowded/ traffic jammed as some of the mountains in CO! (Ikon pas holders can also access all the mountains around us apart of the pass!!) Whether you like skiing, snowboarding, tubing, ice skating or hiking- we have all the winter activities in our back yard here!

***Outdoor Activities: ***

*Jacuzzi - What serene mountain experience would be complete without a Hot Tub Jacuzzi. Sink in, enjoy the natural beauty around you, and decompress after a long day of adventure. Watching the unobstructed stars at night from our jacuzzi is breathtaking.

*Sauna- Luxury 4 person barrel sauna. Nothing better than after a long day of exploring,
hiking, or day of skiing/ snowboarding on the mountain to unwind in a beautiful high end sauna.

*BBQ - There is a BBQ and outdoor dining area you can use to prepare delicious home cooked meals. Views of the trees and mountains surround us so what’s more perfect than to enjoy meals & cooking outside!

*Fire Pit - There’s a fire pit you can gather around, share stories, and watch for shooting stars all night long.

*Hammock - 2 person luxury hammock that can hold up to 450lbs. Perfect for relaxing breaks through the day & stargazing.

*Outdoor Games - Enjoy the property with games like corn hole, “lawn pong”, toss games & more.

*Golden Gate Canyon State Park: Golden Gate Canyon State Park allows fishing in all streams & ponds except the Visitor Center’s Show Pond. There is a four fish daily limit. Park ponds include Kriley, Slough, Dude’s Fishing Hole, Forgotten Valley and Ranch Ponds. The ponds are regularly stocked during the spring & summer. The fishing pier at Kriley Pond is wheelchair accessible too!

*Hiking through the park is one of the best activities to do here! 42.2 miles of trails are located starting from our back yard!!!

***Mountains Around the Corner ***

Who doesn't love a mountain home right next to some of the biggest Colorado mountains! We are a short 15-20 minute drive to Eldora Mountain. Keystone & Breckenridge Ski Resorts as other options are both slightly over an hour away, making your options endless.

Skiing & Snowboarding all day, ending with some mountain hiking is the perfect day here! Then, come home to the cabin & relax the muscles in the jacuzzi + sauna. End your night playing games & drinking a bottle of wine with views of the stars outside (Wine on us!) All this ~ truly makes our home the perfect escape for everyone!!!

*** Private Community Lake Access :***

You’re only a few minute walk from thorn lake, one of the only naturally fed spring lakes in the area. It provides endless fun any season of the year!

Thorn lake is reserved for the residents and friends of our small mountain community!

*Kayaks and paddle boards: Spend your afternoon taking in the sights and wildlife as you paddle around calm waters on one of our kayaks or paddle boards. Our community lake is PRIVATE so you can enjoy it with little commotion.

*Fishing - Ready for FUN? Thorn lake is stocked with trout and an assortment other fish and makes the perfect fishing hole for our angling guests. The fishing in our lake is *catch & release*, but obtaining a fishing license from the local Ace Hardware will get you set to fish in many lakes around the area too!

*Room break downs:

This luxury open concept 2 bed 2 bath cabin sleeps up to 8 people. Our sleeping arrangements are as follows:

1.) Owners Suite (Sleeps 2) - 1 KING size bed
2.) Guest Room (Sleeps 4) - 1 QUEEN bed & 1 QUEEN/FULL mattress located in the loft.
3.) Living Room Loft (Sleeps 2) - 1 Full/Queen mattress located in the loft.

*Loft accessible by ladder only!!
* We have an air mattress & pull out coach as well.

Extra guests MUST BE REQUESTED and CONFIRMED before your stay...
A $100 per person fee applies.
(**10 people MAX can be accommodated here**).

This will be enforced by us and will result in a fine if not disclosed!

We hope you LOVE our home as much as we do. Please help us by following these simple rules. Our outdoor cameras help us keep our home safe & enforce these rules.

1.) NO PARTIES!!!
2.) No events/gatherings (Unless discussed & agreed upon prior)
3.) **Trash must be BAGGED & thrown away @ the Gilpin County Transfer Station (2 mins away)**
4.) Quiet hours from 10pm - 8am!
5.) No rearranging furniture!
6.) No pets (Unless discussed and agreed upon prior)
7.) No smoking or vaping *inside* the home!
8.) No roasting food in the fire pit or fireplace inside (Please use the grill!)
9.) LOFTS: 2 Person max. No food/gum/furniture up there.
10.) Please return all furniture, amenities, & household items to their original places.
11.) Clean up after your kiddos if they leave a mess please!
12.) Do not enter the supply closet unless granted access by host.
