This Mid Century Modern A Frame is on trend & has been renovated for you to enjoy. You will find it is the one of the most unique places to stay in Southern Illinois. Our three themed bedrooms are super fun. The "Daisy Cottage" on the main level is soft and romantic. The lower level bedroom has the soul of a Bohemian. We call her "The Gypsy Room". The loft, or as we like to call it, "The Crow's Nest" is a walk on the wild side and now is affectionately named the "Jungle" Room. All bedrooms have king sized beds. The lodge has the kitchen, dining room and living room on the main level. Our custom decor will have you falling in love with the inside as much as the outside. This lake side property is equipped with a dock to fish from, covered hot tub and BBQ area. The lakeside fire pit area has a custom totem pole, carved with wildlife from our area. Our property sits next to Shawnee National Forest, Trails of Tears State Forest and LaRue Pine Hill, which has thousands of acres for exploring. Our lower level game room has a retro design perfect for hanging with your friends. Feel free to spin our vintage records, play games, have a cup of coffee while watching the fish play. We have bass, bluegill, catfish and crappie. We have wild life including hoot owls, deer, and the occasional bald eagle. Southern Illinois is a great location for birdwatching. The Shawnee Hills Wine Trail is a hop, skip and a jump away. Margie B's Mid Mod Lake Lodge was built in 1970. The renter must be at least 25 years of age. Base rate is for 2 people. We can accommodate up to 6. See rate table. Prospective guests must review, complete and return our Rental Agreement including the names of all guests. Once this is completed, we will be able to move towards confirming your reservation. Perfect nature retreat

Awesome cabin with amazing decor. Hosts are on top of things and you can tell a lot of love went into this place. Oh and there’s burrito, sweetest donkey u will ever meet. Loved the stay here.

Perfect Southern Illinois Getaway

I cannot say enough about this AMAZING house and host! This was the absolute perfect place to spend several days and nights while taking in the most beautiful parts Southern Illinois. The proximity to Shawnee National Forest, Giant City State Park, and SIUC is ideal. The house is a real treasure and our kids did not want to leave. We cannot wait to go back again!

Unique well equipped getaway

Loved our stay at Margie B’s. Very cool A Frame, great location. Great communication and response from Tasha. Close to some great restaurants, winery’s and bars and all were very welcoming!

Short getaway

Short 2 night trip to hit festivals, local bars and restaurants and breweries. Nice place, we had fun and it was close to hiking and several fall activities.

Wonderful property, wonderful hosts!

My wife and I and our five year-old son were fortunate enough to stay at this cabin for a couple days while on spring break. To say that the cabin was perfect and the hosts were gracious and accommodating would be an understatement. They went out of their way to make sure our son felt welcome on their property. Burrito the burro was an absolute delight. The cabin is super close to many great hiking/exploration spots in Shawnee National Forest. Our two days went by super fast and we’re already looking forward to returning. Thanks folks!

The hosts are wonderful, caring people who have a well equipped gorgeous lodge that has everything. The Family live nearby and sincerely care about us and great conversation. Our Family will return soon! Thanks for a great week. We are their first guests. Fun and relaxing!

The property is serene, eclectic, comfortable. Communication with Tasha was easy and informative. Coffee out on the deck overlooking the lake was perfection. Bring shampoo/conditioner/body wash as that’s not available. Otherwise, lots of amenities. Would stay here again.

This cabin is amazing. If you're looking for peace, beauty, or esthetics... absolutely wonderful. It was just my girlfriend and i for valentines weekend and the property owner had flowers, chocolates (really good ones!), Hershey kisses (everywhere! Lol) and it was just wonderful in all aspects... and buritto visited us the first night, and s/he was so freaking cool... we were both amazed that s/he didn't smell (at all) and just wanted pets... nuzzled with my girlfriend for a bit, then went about his/ her business... def will reopen to this cabin in the future! just wonderful
