Renter Beware
The property we stayed at was not what was advertised through VRBO. It was approximately 1 mile away from advertised location, which we picked because we wanted to be close to the marina. Further, the quality of the lodgings was lower than the rental property advertised. It appeared that someone had previously been living in the property we stayed at and quickly moved out, leaving food items behind. There also was no usable balcony as advertised, another reason we selected the property. When we confronted the host with the location being different than advertised, he stated that the property we reserved had had a pipe burst and was not available. However, this was never shared with us in advance. I believe the host hoped that we wouldn't notice the different property. The host gave us a small reimbursement for misleading us, but we were still very disappointed and feel that the host was dishonest and didn't uphold VRBO's rental standards. We looked at staying elsewhere, but there were no other rental properties available in the area in our price range. We will not stay with this host again.
