Kure Beach, Carolina Beach, and the Wilmington area in general make up some of our very favorite places. We love the weather, the people, the beaches, the food, the live music, and the abundant nature and wildlife of Pleasure Island. The intracoastal waterway, marina, and boat access areas are just perfect for boating enthusiasts. Nearby Wilmington provides a cool downtown scene and Riverwalk with excellent food and drinks overlooking the Cape Fear River. Pelican's perch is situated on the island's second row of beach homes, which means the beach is right across the street. Simply put, it's just a perfect location in a wonderful place.

We believe that Pelican's Perch beach house is among the best houses on the island. Its location right between the town centers of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach makes it very convenient to all points of either town, and both towns offer their own charming personalities and attractions. On each end of the island there are stretches of undeveloped beach that you can actually drive your 4 wheel drive vehicle on. There's an access fee but these beaches are a sight to behold. To the north is Freeman Park where fun-loving people flock to party, fish, and camp right with their vehicles on the beach. On the south end is the more family-friendly State Park where alcohol is not allowed and you'll see a bit more nature. If you've got a 4 wheel drive then these rare beach-driving areas are sure to please. You don't have to drive anywhere to enjoy a beach, though. Pelican's Perch is across the street from the community's private beach access and gazebo. When we say the house is just steps from the beach we really mean it! One of the best and least-crowded strands of beach on the island is right there for you to enjoy. The house's 2nd row corner location means you also have direct access to the neighborhood streets that are off the higher-traffic main road. That's worth a lot for relaxing bike rides or for taking the "back way" to bypass heavy main road traffic when going out. You don't have to pay ocean front prices because it's on the second row, but because of the beach access area you get a very nice ocean view from the second or third floor decks. You also get an excellent ocean view from the main living and dining area since that's on the 3rd floor. The bedrooms' being on the 1st and 2nd floor makes for easier work carrying in luggage, and the ocean can be seen from a couple of bedrooms. No matter what you like most about the island, we believe that a stay in Pelican's Perch will make your family want to return again and again
