Experience this real 1800’s hand hewn log cabin. 2-large bedroom log house in Rutherfordton NC near the Tryon International Equestrian Center and a dozen+ wineries. This beautiful property features three beautiful stone fireplaces, 1 queen bed, 3 full beds, 3 bathrooms, one with a bathtub and 2 with showers, and a cozy living room with a sofa and a day bed 🛏️. Enjoy a furnished kitchen plus other major amenities like AC, WiFi, and a stacked washer dryer during your stay. Indoor plumbing. Feel free to reach out to us during your stay - we're happy to suggest local spots to check out. There are security cameras one on front porch post facing the door and driveway, and one on the side porch post facing the French doors and hot tub area. Cameras are not monitored continuously. The property is thoughtfully decorated for our country’s 250th Birthday Celebration. It will also be decorated for Christmas season beginning early November each year.

We were in town for a horse show at Tryon. The location was very convenient to the show. The Sunburt Lodge was awesome. It had everything we needed! Alan was a spectacular host. Neighborhood was beautiful and relaxing. Can’t say enough good things about our stay!

This is a fantastic property. It's so welcoming and cozy. You feel as if you are taking a step back in time, when things where simpler and we had less distractions, but with modern amenities. This property will encourage you to put the phone down and connect with those around you. We loved sipping coffee on the front porch, knowing the TV was there but having no desire to turn it on. We look forward to our return.

The property was amazing. A charming and period-accurate cabin feel, but with all the amenities of modern-day life. The stay was very comfortable and our host was VERY responsive to any and all needs. This was by far the most pleasant vacation rental experience I have ever had, and would recommend this property and/or host to anyone looking for a great stay.

My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend at this beautiful cabin. It’s even more breath taking in person than in the pictures. The attention to detail is unmatched, yet it still feels cozy and welcoming. Another bonus is the location is a short drive to Tryon or Flat Rock. Alan was an exceptional host and very easy to communicate with. We hope to return soon and will be recommending this little piece of paradise tucked into the trees for any of our family or friends who need to get away.

I grew up in western North Carolina and graduated from Berea College in KY. My grandpa Warren rebuilt old log cabins on his property and I realized as I got older how much I loved them. So after I retired, I decided to jump in and design and rebuild my own log cabin.

I enjoy meeting new people and it just seemed a natural fit to use my cabin as a Short Term Vacation Rental destination. I was sure that vacationers would enjoy my type of log cabin as much as I do.

I currently live in Spartanburg SC about 45 minutes from my cabin.

I chose this neighborhood to build because I knew my log cabin would feel perfectly at home in this mountain setting. The community is private and gated. Guests will enjoy the secluded and quiet neighborhood in the foothills of Western North Carolina. And the neighborhood has lots of wildlife. I think my guests will also feel at home in my cabin.

My well designed and solidly built 1860’s log house and 1800’s furnishings mingled with some more modern furnishings would make guests feel like they stepped back 200 years near the American civil war period but has all modern conveniences at their fingertips.
