オーナーのプロフィール画像
Hello! I’m Jelissa. Born and raised in the vibrant energy of Queens, NY, I spent most of my life surrounded by the constant hustle of the city. While I love New York, I always felt a pull toward something quieter.
In 2018, I took a family trip to the Catskills and was instantly captivated. For the first time, I experienced true silence, the beauty of the lakes, and the healing power of nature. It was the 'peace' I didn't know I was missing.
Bluestique by The Lake became my personal sanctuary—my home away from home where I could finally breathe and reconnect. I decided to open our doors to guests because I know exactly how it feels to need an escape from the everyday grind. My goal is to provide a stylish, tranquil space where you can trade the city noise for lake views and create your own 'unforgettable' memories in nature.
I can’t wait to welcome you to the lake!

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

Smallwood is a classic Catskills experience that balances a quiet, tight-knit community feel with proximity to the region's top entertainment and natural wonders. This historic hamlet, originally designed in the 1920s as a self-contained mountain retreat, is famous for its charming, locally-sourced log cabins and a slower pace of life that makes it an ideal escape from the bustle of New York City.

Why Smallwood is a Top Choice

The Best of Both Worlds: You are tucked away in a peaceful wooded setting, yet only 6 minutes from Bethel Woods Center for the Arts—the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival and a premier venue for world-class concerts and museum exhibits.

A "Lakes & Woods" Lifestyle: The community is centered around outdoor recreation. Guests can enjoy:
The Forest Reserve at Smallwood: A large public park featuring year-round hiking trails, a dog park, and the scenic Minnie Falls waterfall.

Water Access: Smallwood is surrounded by pristine waterways, including Mountain Lake and the nearby Lake Superior State Park, which offers a sandy beach, boat launches for kayaking, and picnic areas.

Year-Round Versatility: While summer is peak season for lake activities and concerts, Smallwood is a prime winter destination being just 15 minutes from Holiday Mountain Ski & Fun Park and within reach of other major Catskill ski resorts.

Local Culture & Community: The hamlet has a vibrant creative pulse, with local antique shops like The Country Bum'kin Antiques, art galleries, and proximity to the Forestburgh Playhouse for summer theater.

この宿泊施設の特徴

Rare "Group-Friendly" Capacity: While much of Smallwood consists of smaller cottages, our retreat comfortably hosts up to 8 guests with three distinct levels of living space, making it one of the few options in the hamlet that provides true privacy for large families or groups of friends.

The "Rain-or-Shine" Entertainment Suite: Unlike many rustic Catskills cabins that lack indoor recreation, your property features a dedicated basement Game Room & Movie Lounge. This makes it a "weather-proof" vacation spot where the fun continues regardless of the mountain weather.
