The unit is very clean and spacious. It’s on the 10th floor and the view of the mountain is beautiful. They have very nice pools ( one with a slide that is great for kids and others more quiet for adults plus more than a few jacuzzis!). The beautiful beach is also steps away and Dukes restaurant is right on the property. The staff at the bell desk were all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

Excellent room on Maui in Lahaina

Great property at the Honua Kai resort. Excellent views of the mountains as advertised, even with the rainbow. Host was very responsive and the property was great as advertised. Definitely stay again if the opportunity arises.

Perfect stay in Maui

This was the perfect spot to stay for our trip to Maui! The condo was spacious, clean and had all of the amenities we needed. The resort itself was beautiful and we enjoyed relaxing by the pool and the beach. Could not have asked for a better stay! Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Place

Great unit. Stayed with our family of 4 (2.5 year old and 6 month old). Room was fantastic with a great deck. The pools and resort were fantastic. Owner was super easy to contact and ask questions. Would stay here again.

Xmas trip 2024

Beautiful resort and condo - would recommend. Small issues when we arrived (room not cleaned yet - miscommunication with staff) and dealt with immediately. Condo showing bit of wear and tear as we expect from rentals- new couch would be great. More beach toys than expected (we only used boogie boards, mat, and chairs). Great location for getting around. 35 min walk down the beautiful boardwalk to get to Whaler's village. BBQs worked great. Between Xmas and new years tough to get loungers by pools as busiest week of year but first week had no issues.

Beautiful Ohana Time

Out family had the best time staying at this property and unit. On top of being nice and quiet on the top floor, the owner has water toys for guests to enjoy. Our kids especially had fun with the boogie boards. We will be back!

Perfect Unit for Family of 4

This unit was perfect for our family! Evan was extremely communicative in making sure we had everything we needed leading up to our stay. We happened to be there during my daughter's 9th birthday and Evan was very helpful in showing me how to book a cabana at the pool for the day. She absolutely loved it! The unit was the perfect size for our family of 4, with two younger children. My girls especially loved the accordion doors that opened up to the balcony with beautiful views of the mountains from the top floor. Highly recommend this unit. We will absolutely be back again!

Great Stay in Maui

The suite is well equipped with a cooler on wheels, air mattress, beach chairs, mats and snorkel gear. Some kitchen essentials would be nice, such as salt, pepper, olive oil and sugar. We did not have any issues during our stay. Thank you for having us!

Great vacation getaway

Very clean, beautiful resort, plenty of extras in room (air beds, beach chairs, cooler, etc). Owner was very responsive throughout process. 10th floor offered great views of the valley!

Family Getaway

This is our second time staying at Honua Kai, first time in this tower and particular condo. The check-in time is not flexible so just be aware of that when booking flights. We were able to access the pool which was nice but definitely had some tired kiddos looking forward to lounging a bit. The unit has a beautiful view of the mountains and we saw a rainbow just as pictured in the listing! The unit was well equipped with beach toys for our adventures. A few things to note: We had to reach out to the owner because the thermostat is not easy to figure out and got very cold, it was 65 degrees - it was hot or cold. They sent someone to fix it and then it would only set to 70 which was still colder than we would have liked but better than 80 so we dealt with it. The dryer never dries clothes no matter how many cycles you do, I had to let the clothes dry on the bed after doing a dry cycle even at the highest heat. The nonstick pans could be replaced, they’re terribly scratched and we chose not to use them. Everything was great about this location, the communication was appreciated. Definitely recommend staying at Honua Kai, wherever it is you will enjoy it!

Just okay

Good location. Clean unit. However, compared to others that had other similar units this was not as well stocked. No basic condiments (salt, pepper, sugar), all the three teflon pans were scratched beyond safe usage, the beach chairs broken. The sofa bed is not comfortable as it was all springy.

Best Maui vacation spot, pool & beach!

We had the best time at Honua Kai Resort & Spa and so happy we booked through VRBO! Our host Evan was super communicative and made our stay one to remember. We loved having the pool options with the beach just behind it. Food at Dukes, although a little pricey, was delicious and lots of nearby options to walk to. Grocery store across the street was perfect for some room essentials and the pizza spot there hit the spot one night! Would absolutely stay again!

Great Stay!

We had a wonderful stay in this unit at Honua Kai! The unit is very spacious, well stocked and in great shape, and the views of the west Maui mountains are spectacular. As promised (and to the children’s delight), we saw a number of very vibrant rainbows from the lanai. Also, there were plenty of beach toys (including high quality boogie boards) available in the unit, though the beach (at least the part directly in front of the resort) gets rocky as you enter the water, which while great for snorkelling, can be a bit rough on the feet when boogie boarding. The pools at Honua Kai are awesome, and the slide there is perfect for children on the younger side. Our kids also loved the various cats on the property. Would definitely stay again.

Just Perfect!

Wow! What an amazing place! We stayed here as a family of 5. Our 3 kids are 6-10 and we couldn't have asked for a better place. The condo was amazing and the views from the balcony of the West Maui Mountains were incredible. Having our own kitchen and washer and dryer was great since we stayed for 10 days. We came home with no laundry to do! The resort is also great for kids. Honou Kai has an infinity pool overlooking the beach, another pool with a waterfall and waterslide and a lazy river. My kids were in heaven and said it was the best trip they have every been on. The beach is beautiful as you can look out and see two other islands. There is some rock and coral around so just watch where you are stepping in the water. Evan, the property manager, was also very helpful. Nothing came up during our trip, but leading up to the trip he had great communication. We will definitely look to go back and stay here again!
