We had such a delightful stay in Mi-Wuk at the knotty pine cabin. It was exactly what we wanted - rustic, cozy, peaceful and memorable. I had vacationed in Mi-Wuk as a child in the 60’s and it remains as special as I remember. We loved walking the neighborhood, going to Pine Crest Lake and Yosemite during our stay. This cabin is a wonderful place for solitude, relaxation and enjoying a step back in time. We will stay again.

The cabin was very cozy. We loved the gas fireplace which we used more than the whole house heating unit. The king bed upstairs was soft and comfortable and the WiFi and tv worked well. The location was great for our day trips to Twain Harte and Pinecrest Lake and we enjoyed the quiet evenings relaxing on the front deck. We would recommend this cabin.

Our host was very responsive. The cabin was fully stocked with everything you could need in kitchen. Bring your food and drinks, nearest large stores are in Sonora. There were plenty of games available at the cabin, as well. It was truly a cabin in the forest experience.

Cozy and Clean

Very clean, very cozy feeling. Well set up kitchen. Friendly owner. Great deck. Comfy beds and couches. Very convenient location. Will definitely be back!

The rustic cabin had homey touches and was great for our group of five. Paulette and her husband were super responsive. The kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed. We were able to log on to a few of our different streaming services through the Roku. The neighborhood was a great home base for our day trips to Leland Snow Play, the Sno-Park in Strawberry, and downtown Sonora. It is a self-built rustic cabin, so I recommend bringing slippers for those with naturally cold feet. With that said, there were plenty of blankets and extra space heaters to keep us warm all day and night both upstairs and downstairs.

Fabulous Ski Weekend in a Cozy Cabin

Our family stayed at this cabin with friends for a long ski weekend at Dodge Ridge. The home is cozy and inviting with a well stocked kitchen, hang out area, and sleeping space. We hope to visit the house again in the summer as there is a fantastic deck out back that would be amazing to enjoy in the evening. The home is conveniently located in Mi-Wuk with a short drive up to Dodge Ridge, Pinecrest Lake, and The Sugar Shack - one of our favorites for breakfast.The property owners were very friendly and helpful with local recommendations for restaurants. They were very responsive before and during our stay, including when we ran into an issue with a smoke alarm, and they addressed if immediately. We look forward to staying here again and highly recommend the Red Cabin!

I highly recommend this property to anyone seeking an authentic, comfortable mountain retreat!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Knotty Pine Old Time Cabin! From the moment we arrived, we felt immersed in a charming, cozy mountain getaway. The cabin’s knotty pine walls and overall decor brought feelings of simpler vintage times, while modern amenities like central heating and high-speed WiFi kept us comfortable throughout our stay. The layout was perfect for the two of us. It was even a bit too big since the cabin has three bedrooms, each thoughtfully decorated. We particularly loved the large deck nestled among towering pines—a great spot to enjoy our morning coffee, take in the fresh mountain air, and grill in the evening. The kitchen was also well-stocked with everything we needed, which made cooking a breeze. Location-wise, this cabin is fantastic! It’s a quick drive to Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge, and we loved having easy access to hiking trails in the Stanislaus National Forest. Despite being so close to nature, we also enjoyed the convenience of nearby shops and restaurants in both Mi-Wuk Villiage and Twain Harte. Paulette’s attention to detail, from clear check-in instructions to cabin guides, was impressive, and her family’s pride in this property shows. This cabin felt like a home away from home, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!
