We just returned from a one week stay in 270 View House. It is one of four brand new, individual houses in a cluster overlooking Oia. Manos, the owner and architect, has done an amazing job in designing and building this property. The interior and exterior spaces are both beautiful and thoughtfully laid out. The homes are traditionally styled, with plenty of local character, but have all the modern conveniences, including great Wi-Fi. The views are spectacular, overlooking Oia and its marvelous sunsets--A perfect location for sunsetters every evening. (Conveniently, the Sigalis winery is a ten minute drive down the hill, in case you run out of "supplies".)
While convenient to Oia (a two minute drive or ten minute walk), you're sufficiently isolated from the waves of cruise boaters that inundate Oia every day during the summer and early fall. The house is well situated as a base for exploring the island or for simply relaxing by the large private pool. The hiking road/trail between Fira and Oia runs within a few steps of the property. Despite this proximity, the houses are still quite private.
Manos and Maria, the property manager, were very kind and accomodating. They seemed intent on making our stay memorable. After asking Manos about a bit more shade by the pool, a large patio umbrella magically appeared the following day. Maria provided a generous breakfast each morning, including home-made bread and pastries--more food than two people could possibly eat.
Finally, compared with rental properties near-by, the house's current pricing is quite reasonable. All-in-all, we'd rent this place again in a heatbeat.
