A cosy cottage at the waterside of lake Apavatn (Laugarvatn). A breathtaking view from the cottage over the lake and to mountain Hekla. Located on the Golden circle route (Þingvellir-Geysir-Gullfoss) and in a short distance from many of main locations in the southern part of Iceland. Very peaceful environment and trees surrounding the property. Northern lights often very visible from the cottage in clear cloud evening weather. Only in an hour drive from Reykjavík and 25 min from Geysir. License no: HG-00019733. When sending booking requests please send further information about tenants.

Wonderful Family Stay

The house was so cosy and warm which was especially appreciated after sightseeing. The house is perfectly located to see many of the sights of the Golden Circle as well as access to amenities such as supermarkets. When not sightseeing, we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the 39 degrees hot tub outside or in the clean, well equipped kitchen/house/porch or the children playing in the garden or with the many board games….. absolutely super.Communication prior to our stay was excellent and provided all the information we needed.

The wake up view was worth it!

We were looking for a cabin that our family of four could stay at during our trip to Iceland. And can’t believe we came across this gem. Waking up in the morning and drinking my coffee while looking over a beautiful lake with snow capped mountains in the distance made our stay there magical. Great condition. Secluded and peaceful.

Lovely place and very friendly hosts

The house is nice, clean and spacious. (easily enough space for 4 adults)Location is both remote to be very quiet and peaceful, but also not far from attractions (national park, waterfalls, great geysir etc. are around the corner. The hosts are super friendly and very responsive, the always have some good advise about attractions etc. for you, too. Only minor downside was that the hot tube could have been a bit warmer, was a bit too cold (winter time) to stay in it longer and to watch the stars and aurora. We'd consider the cottage again if we want to stay in the South! :)

Eine sehr schöne Unterkunft in absolut ruhiger Lage. Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt. Danke an den Gastgeber, daß er sein Anwesen zur Vermietung anbietet.
