Perfect Property

This home was perfect for our family trip to the Dells, with a comfortable private bedroom and bath for mom and dad upstairs, and a separate downstairs "retreat" for the kids - two bedrooms, additioonal bath, and playroom. Lots of space for everyone to spread out! The area is quiet, beautiful and full of nature, and the host Lashan was a breeze and delight to deal with.

First Family Getaway

This was our first roadtrip with our little ones and their cousins, ages ranged from 15 years old to six months. The property had everything we needed. We didn’t have to pack our own pack and play. Everything was as advertised: close to downtown but private and scenic location. Our kids got to wake up to nature out the back window every morning. They enjoyed the peacefulness away from the bustle of suburbia. We will definitely be returning.

As a long time traveler with a degree in hospitality management, I was extremely disappointed in this rental. Most notably, there is no lake in the backyard as the pictures suggest, something we had planned to enjoy on our trip. While we were understanding of the garbage in the yard upon arrival due to the recent storms, the interior of the home was not clean. Fingerprints on the TVs and windows, dirty baseboards, floors appeared to not have been swept, cobwebs in corners, and misc. garbage under beds and end tables. The towels that were provided were damp and there were only two hand towels, no sponge for dishes, no top sheets on two of the beds, and an empty body wash container. While the property manager dropped off bed sheets and body wash, we never got hand towels. When we went to make a fire, there was no lighter. Eventually a lighter was dropped off, but it was 10:30 at night when we got a knock on the door.Safety concerns: the carbon monoxide detectors are not in a place to detect carbon monoxide, and the emergency exit in the double bedroom is covered with a plastic barrier . The electrical panel is in the bathroom which is not up to code. Stairs are uneven and a tripping hazard. The couch is broken with a spring that stuck out. Steps going to the creek are rotted and a tripping hazard. Closet ceiling sagsI recommend a building inspection and a new property manager who ensures all necessary items are available and the home is cleaned to an acceptable standard.

For future guests, a factual correction, because this review badly exaggerates both the home and the stay. The home has never advertised a lake. It sits on a wooded lot with marsh and creek views, as the photos show. The yard debris was storm damage from the day before check-in. A few linens and supplies were missed at turnover. We apologized and replaced them within the hour, including a lighter the same evening it was requested. The safety claims are the most misrepresented. Not one was mentioned during the four-night stay, across several messages where we asked the guest to flag anything wrong. Nobody who genuinely believed a home had blocked exits or faulty detectors stays four nights in silence, then lists them only afterward. This is a licensed rental that passed county and municipal health and safety inspection. The claims match neither the home, the 100 five-star reviews we have earned over the years, nor our messages during the stay.
