** When the details were eventually discussed via phone (no emails returned), we were told that check in was at 3 PM, Sunday and if we needed assistance to call the property management office anytime. Great! We arrived at 3:15 PM to a locked townhouse, no one around, no one answered the office phone. Left a message that we were locked out, but it wasn’t responded to until more than 24 hrs later. To their credit, the property owner did refund us for the first night. **
On our last day, the cleaning team arrived at 9 AM though we were told that checkout was at 11 AM.
BEDS
The description reads “sleeps 8” and “beds for 6-8.” It should be clarified that the fourth bed is a bench that doesn’t lay completely flat and is only a little wider than a twin mattress. It’s also located on the third floor/ master bedroom and is very heavy to move, so I imagine that most people won’t want to use it.
The master bed in the master bedroom wasn’t complete and the mattress quite worn with a large dip in the center. A flat sheet was tucked around the mattress. No mattress cover. No flat sheet between person and duvet. No blanket. No duvet cover. After looking through the closets and bureau, our complete collection consisted of two duvets without covers, two duvet covers, no sheets (other than the one tucked around the mattress), and no blankets. Especially being a summer rental, a sheet and blanket would have been appreciated options instead of heavy duvets.
Reviewing the ad now, I’m disappointed that there’s a $100 linen fee despite not having sheets or a blanket for the master bedroom.
Two of the three bedrooms have south-facing bedrooms and no curtains, only thick (horizontal) blinds that block very little light. Be prepared to wake with the sun. Closing the blinds doesn’t darken the room but makes the light indirect.
AMENITIES
There was a cable jack, but there wasn’t a television in any of the rooms despite the description.
Not enough dining room chairs for 8 people, only 6.
Not enough eating utensils for 8 people, only 3 (ikea) steak knives.
A chef’s knife and paring knife were available but should be replaced or sharpened.
Weber gas grill igniter is broken. Need to bring your own long-reach lighter.
The refrigerator water filter should be changed.
The fire alarm batteries should be replaced. One of the alarms started beeping at midnight, telling us that the battery needed to be replaced.
Many of the windows are screwed shut. No fresh air
