Timber-frame treehouse along the Ocmulgee River; short drive from I-75
Welcome to our beautiful timber-frame treehouse! Hand built by local master carpenter David Green, this is truly a work of art. It is a two-story dwelling with two porches, lofted bedroom (with queen bed) living room and kitchen/prep area. As it sits currently (summer 2025), there is not an indoor restroom. We do have a camping style toilet adjacent to the treehouse where you can relieve yourself while you watch the woodpeckers ;) We keep the treehouse stocked with a fresh 5 gallon jug of water that’s plumbed to an antique porcelain sink. We also provide a fully charged power supply if you want to run any devices. Our treehouse is quite simple; definitely better than primitive camping, but we encourage you to bring what you need! This is on a 20 acre lot along the Ocmulgee River in Jones County GA. Access to the most beautiful sections of the Ocmulgee river that have some of the best fishing along the entire river. The Piedmont National Forest is adjacent to our lot so there’s plenty of hiking, biking and nature watching! We have kayaks and canoes available to rent, just let us know what you need and we’ll help make your stay memorable. The treehouse is accessible via 4x4, however if we’ve had heavy rains we ask you to take our short walking trail into the property so that you don’t damage the trail and possibly get your vehicle stuck. 99% of the time we can meet you to help with the load-in process.
We were looking for a place to camp that was secluded and peaceful and that is exactly what we got! The tree house is very well built and was the perfect place to sleep at night. There was a spot with a large fire pit next to the river with a good sized clearing that we hung out and played games in. We opted to get some kayaks and went up and down the river. Entry into the river was a bit steep and challanging but we made it work. It was a bit of a drive for us but even the kids agreed that it was 100% worth it!
