Accurate Interior, Surprising Exterior
We recently stayed at the home on North Warman Avenue in Indianapolis. The interior matched the listing photos—clean, updated, and furnished comfortably for the compact space. The layout was well thought out and functional.Nicki, the host, was very responsive. When we had trouble with the door code at 1:30 AM, she answered our call and provided a new code, which we appreciated after a long day of travel.There were, however, some challenges. The yard was overgrown with grass over three feet tall when we arrived, which made for a poor first impression. A lawn crew did come two days later, but it was disappointing initially. The listing included no exterior photos or address in advance, which in hindsight would have been helpful. The neighborhood, described as “safe,” is struggling—with boarded-up homes nearby. During our stay, we witnessed a manic episode in front of the house and a physical altercation between two older women.Maintenance and supplies were limited. A chirping smoke detector due to a low battery was never addressed despite the host’s response. Supplies included one roll of toilet paper and no paper towels. There was also no guest guide for basic instructions.With better communication, stocking, and exterior care, this home could offer a much improved experience. The host was helpful, and we hope this feedback is constructive.
