Holiday rental

We had a really lovely two week stay. Debra had beautifully decorated the house for the holidays, which was a special treat. She was extremely accessible and pleasant to deal with for any questions. Among the highlights of our stay was the very short daily walk to the beach for glorious sunsets. Thank you Debra and family!

Family Vacation

Wonderful house only 200 steps to the water. We were 9 with three grandkids under 3 and had room to spare. One great feature was the screened in wrap-around porch. Others include a propane grill, a beach wagon with many beach chairs, boogie boards & toys, 4 bikes, 2 outside showers and even a ping pong table. Beautifully decorated yet felt comfortable like being home. Looking forward to next year.

This was our first stay on the East Coast and I have to say being from Las Vegas, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The beach house was perfect, just what we wanted for our vacation!! We took long walks on the beach every night, rode bikes during the day and of course relaxed. The accommodations in the house were wonderful, we especially loved the master bedroom. We would highly recommend this beach house to who ever wanted a relaxing vacation just steps to an incredible beach. Family vacation.

Best beach house we've ever rented anywhere!! Plenty of room for our 8 adults. Loved the decks. We were especially impressed with all the extras in the house. Had a car repair issue while we were there and the small tool box SAVED THE DAY!! The wagon to haul our of our stuff to the beach was a god-send as was the canopy. More parking areas than we've ever had even though we didn't need them all. Would have loved to try the kayak but the surf was too rough. The owner's were very attentive and answered questions quickly. Very close to town, restaurants, piers, everything. Loved it!!

December 2021 AMI Vacation

This home provided an ultimate, well appointed and centrally located vacation residence on AMI. My husband and I celebrated career milestones with a month-long stay at this charming home. Our family joined us for the holidays. The home is centrally located to quaint shops and dining experiences, and is a very short walk to the beautiful beach, just as described. We enjoyed the ocean views from the primary suite and morning tea in the outdoor living spaces. The host supported a seamless reservation, check-in and check-out process. The host was gracious, leaving a welcome package of wine and chocolates and some holiday decor. Our family was quite comfortable in the home and enjoyed our stay on AMI. Our vacation plans will include return visits to the area.

Wonderful Holiday

Our family of four (boys 9 and 6) enjoyed this wonderful property. Deb was very helpful and provided lots of information on the island. The home is beautiful and spacious, a true beach house in every sense of the word. Much love and care has been put into this home and provided a wonderful get-away for our family. The location to the beach was ideal and having two outdoor showers were wonderful to rinse off the sun and sand. There were beach toys and bikes to borrow, couldn't have asked for more. Although we were only four this home would support an additional family with ease. Having the elevator makes it a wonderful choice for any families with family members with mobility challenges. You will not be disappointed in this lovely home!

Great house!

We just spent a week at this house with extended family and had a wonderful time. The location could not be beat for the price we paid. We rent a large home on Anna Maria once or twice each year for our extended family and we will definitely be back to this home. Everything is just as pictured on the site and the home is very clean and well maintained in comparison to others we have rented in the past. I love dealing directly with the owner and she was extremely helpful in answering my questions promptly and efficiently. We expecially loved using the large beach canopy at the beach each day. It was also nice that the home had bicycles, boogie boards and plenty of beach towels, chairs, and anything else we needed for our beach days. We highly recommend this home to anyone wishing to be close to the beach.

OUTSTANDING

We had a great time at the Gutierrez Beach House. Debra went above and beyond making us welcome and communicating before and while we were there. The house was perfect for our family of 3 generations, and it was nice to have us all under one roof. The elevator made life much easier for us ...groceries and luggage get heavy on steps. Everything was provided and we lacked nothing. We loved the quiet neighborhood. It was a perfect vacation......so said the12 year old and the 73 year old! A good time was had by all. Laurel Ryan

Great house and location

Stayed here for Spring Break with my wife, our son and a few of his friends for their high school spring break. The location of the house is perfect. It is a quick two minute walk to one of the quietest pieces of beach on AMI. The house was well equipped to serve our group of 10. Lots of seating on the two decks and an open area on the ground floor for keeping beach supplies and gathering while grilling. The third floor master suite had everything we needed and was a perfect vacation from the kids who would stay up late watching movies and playing games. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend the house for anyone with a group wanting to be close to the beach. Deb was very easy to communicate with and was eager to answer questions throughout the entire booking process and stay.

Great location, great house!

We had our family Christmas gathering at this home - 3 couples and 2 adult children. The house was very spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed already supplied. It is very large with a nice dining and living area where we all could gather and enjoy family time together. The proximity to the beach is ideal - literally a 3 minute walk to a beautiful beach area. Plenty of beach towels and chairs too, which was great! Deb was a wonderful hostess and very responsive to the few questions we had during our stay. Would stay here again for sure!

A perfect home for a perfect family vacation

Deb's home is more than you can ask for, to enjoy a wonderful vacation on AMI. It is not your typical rental - it is their home which has everything you could possibly need. The location is amazing; two houses from the. gulf beach and in walking distance to two shopping areas with good shops and restaurants. It is in a lovely neighborhood - perfect for walking, running or strolling. This home is spotlessly clean and well stocked with anything you could need. The elevator was perfect for bringing up luggage and groceries. Another wonderful feature was that Deb's house offers beach towels, a beach wagon, beach chairs and beach umbrellas. There was not a single item that was missing! Check in and check out was easy as was communication with Deb. I have already recommended this vacation home to friends and family - although not the week we plan to return next year!

We enjoyed the Gutierrez family’s lovely home!

The pictures don’t lie! “Gracious & Spacious” is an accurate description of the Gutierrez family Anna Maria Island vacation home. Our daughter from Minnesota and, son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons from Germany joined us for Christmas week 2016. The home accommodated our family perfectly – clean, well maintained, with numerous amenities. We enjoyed the large dining table not only for meals, but also for crafts and games. The wrap around porch is great for entertaining visiting family and friends or simply relaxing. The porch swing was everyone’s favorite. We viewed absence of a pool as a plus with two young grandsons to keep track of. However, for a home not directly on the beach, access to the beach is ridiculously close. No roads to cross, so we didn’t have to dodge any traffic. The beautiful white sand beach rivals those highly touted beaches at Siesta Key and Clearwater. A number of restaurants and shops are within walking distance. We enjoyed dinner for twelve at Lobstas one evening. Our young grandsons especially liked the kids programs at the nearby Island Branch Library – Lego building one day, colored pencil drawing the next, and best of all, slime making! Our family very much enjoyed our week in the Gutierrez family’s lovely home.

Had a wonderful month!

This home was perfect for my husband, myself and my 3 siblings. We have been coming to Anna Maria Island for over 6 years now. This home had it all. Very clean, great amenities and the perfect location. Owner was super friendly and gracious. Hope to return next February.

Rules, rules, rules

This is a great house-location, space, extras. Unfortunately, our vacation was overshadowed by the owner/manager. Communicating with her was frustrating. While at the house, all the rules made us nervous that we would lose our deposit. Based on to the letter below, we had cause to be so. We have rented from VRBO for over six years and never had such an experience. It began during the contract step, when she sent a lengthy email outlining problems with previous renters and therefore, her need for a lot of information. This is understandable, so I let it go as just annoying. Then, we got to the house where there was a full page of rules for EACH thing-the elevator (just do not plan on using), the laundry, the AC, etc. Upon arrival I sent a very short email outlining two items that were not problems, but I wanted to tell her about so that she would not hold us responsible. Her response was long and for some unknown reason detailed her problems with the new cleaners. The final straw was this letter she sent with my security deposit check. (The review would not allow a photo of the letter but it was a picture of sheets with 2 or 3 dime sized pink spots on sheets plus a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. The note along side explained how she had delayed sending my deposit back since she had to pre-treat and wash the sheets several times before the stains were removed. ) I had already contacted her regarding our deposit. Her reply did not, thank goodness, include info about the spots on the sheets. It did, however, urge me to write a review that should include the fact that she was nice enough to send us my daughter's baby blanket that we had left at the house. She was. I appreciate that. The problem is that I **dreaded** emailing her with the request to mail that blanket. I **dreaded** emailing her regarding the items when we arrived and then later, asking about our deposit. I was **paranoid** the entire vacation that we, a group that included 4 kids, might hurt something in her house. Frustrated and paranoid is not how I wish to feel while on vacation. Perhaps she will consider getting a third party to manage, since it really is a nice house and location.

Beautiful! It was a true pleasure to stay here.

We stayed on Anna Maria Island in 2015 for spring break. This home was well equipped and had plenty of room for our whole family. The Master Bedroom was amazing and provided a wonderful view. We spent most mornings and evenings enjoying the wrap around deck on the second floor. It was huge and had plenty of seating for our large group. I cannot explain what a true asset the elevator was. It was perfect for bringing in groceries and luggage. Also, it was a big help my Parents (not so spring chickens) to get up to the bedroom after a long day and back down to the beach in the A.M. We took a charter out fishing and were able to use the outdoor grill to cook up some of the best fish ever! The open patio area under the house had a ping pong table and the teenagers used that every night. The outdoor shower was used daily after the group would come back from the beach. (this is just a 1 minute walk) The sunsets were beautiful every night and we would race out to see them each evening. It was nice that there is a park bench at the entrance to the beach so if my Parents did not want to walk all the way to the waters edge they had a place to sit and watch. Also, the bikes that were included with the house came in very handy for seeing the island. We will definitely come back here.

The Perfect House for a Family Christmas

A fantastic experience for my first time renting via Home Away. I did a lot of research to find what turned out to be the perfect house for a big family gathering over the Christmas holiday. My wife and I, plus our two daughters were meeting her immediate family that had arrived from the UK, we needed a big house. We were a party of ten (six-adults, four children – one 11, two 8, and one 4 year old). Booking the house over two weekends was no problem, (we arrived on Saturday, Dec. 19 and left on Tuesday, Dec. 29), and Debra was very flexible with our booking; and she was also very helpful, all my questions were answered quickly and completely prior to reserving the property and the entire process was very smooth. It’s a beautiful big house and strategically located: Close to the beach, shops, and restaurants, with easy access to the main road. The house had more than enough room for us all. Especially nice was the kid’s room which can accommodate four, and the Master Suite. We gave my wife’s parents (both in their late 80’s) the Master Suite on the third floor. My in-laws thoroughly enjoyed the privacy of the Master Suite and the small sun deck adjacent to the bedroom, and they loved the elevator which was used every day. The elevator worked out great for them and it ensured that they could easily move between floors. Many of the local restaurants and shops are within walking distance or just a short ride away. We ate at Lobstas, the Sandbar, and I especially enjoyed Skinny’s for great burgers. We ate in most of the time and found the kitchen to be well equipped to accommodate our cooking needs. The extra refrigerator in the garage was also much appreciated for storing cold drinks, extra food, etc. We also cooked on the grill a few times which created a variety of food/dining experiences for us. The cart that was provided made getting gear to the beach very easy! The cart allowed us to easily transport (umbrellas, towels, coolers, floating toys, etc.) and the kayak. We used the kayak a few times and had great fun. We also made use of the bikes – riding the island and cruising the coast road. Our entire party loved the place and we all were sad to leave. Thank you Debra for allowing us to experience Anna Maria Island in your lovely home, we all had a wonderful time.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There were 8 of us and plenty of room. The amenities were great. Ping pong table, porch swing, porch. We also enjoyed the large dining table. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There were 8 of us and plenty of room. The amenities were great. Ping pong table, porch swing, porch. We also enjoyed the large dining table. Access to the beach was great and there were chairs, beach toys, bicycles, something for everyone. I would recommend this lovely home.

Comfortable house

Our family of 6 adults and 3 small children rented the house for 10 days over the Thanksgiving holiday. It was very comfortable with a wonderful wrap around porch, steps to the beautiful beach and even a very large wagon for transporting everything to the beach. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Christmas Fun

We arrived Christmas Day, with our 3 grown sons and their wives. The house was beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities we could have wished for. It was clean and spacious. Debi called us the day after we got in, just to make sure everything was as we had expected. The master suite was especially nice, and situated on its own floor! The wifi was convenient, but there was also a computer available for our use. There were enough beach towels for everyone. The kitchen was well equipped, and the walk to the beach took about 1 minute. The washer and dryer were in frequent use, and there was a nice selection of reading material--both for pleasure and for information. There were also board games and puzzles (necessary, since we experienced a couple of rainy days). Several days into our trip, one of the young couples left, and my 80+ parents joined us. The elevator was a blessing for my mother, who does not climb stairs easily. I would highly recommend this house for families travelling together, family get-togethers, etc. We enjoyed the laid back feel of the island, but the proximity to attractions in the Tampa area. We loved our daily walks on the beach, though the water was too cold to enjoy. We would happily return to this home again and again.

My husband and I are in our early 70's.. He is a physician and myself a registered nurse. We have four sons (all doctors) that range between the ages of 36-42. We built our vacation home when our sons were young, and have had some memorable times and wonderful summer vacations, shared with extended family and friends.
Our sons love to hunt, fish, and do just about any outdoor activity.

There are numerous activities and fun things to do--to list a few: fishing, snorkeling, diving, surfing, para-sailing, bike riding and shelling. There are canoe, jet-ski, moped, and even 'Zegway' rentals.
Your grand kids will want to go to Disney World.
Nature can be enjoyed at its best walking the shell-lined shores, watching tropical birds and other island wildlife .There are parks in the area, including Myakka River State Park, and DeSota National Park. There are fishing charters, kayak outfitters, and even fruit farms nearby.
There are numerous local attractions, should you tire of the sun, and need a 'rainy day' to catch up. There's Mote Marine Aquarium, Bishop Planetarium/Museum, Ringling Museum of Art, the Island Playhouse Theater, The Dali Museum, and Marie Selby Gardens, with it's beautiful orchid displays, and tropical plants..
You will find major attractions in neighboring cities including Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, and Disney World. The M LB team, the Tampa Rays play at Tropicana field in St Petersburg.
There are more than 50 golf courses nearby. If you'd like to improve your game, the internationally famous David Leadbetter Golf Academy, Nick Boliterie Tennis Academy and IMG Academy are all located in Bradenton .
The island is very 'laid-back' and offers so many wonderful accommodations. Come for the sunset, but stay for the sunrise,...Anna Maria Island is a special place, that will reach out to your heart...you won't want to leave...

Anna Maria Island's charm lies in its congenial air of unhurried tropical living and its easy-going inhabitants. Don't be surprised if you see movie stars trying to hide from it all, like the rest of us.
