AREA You will be nearby shopping, gas stations, and restaurants, which makes it even more convenient. Adjacent property has an RV site if needed. For recommendations on dining, entertainment, and local attractions, please refer to our Guidebook.

EXTRAS We offer an Add On Menu! Just give 24 hours (typically) and we can accommodate your requests. Things like S'mores, other snack packages and a Mid Stay tidy are available. Prices and pics sent upon request.

Guests are advised to remain on the lawn areas. We are currently working on walkable trails and other projects expected to open in the near future.

There's a 36-foot mural done by local artist, a "tribute" to one of our family's beloved author/illustrators. It's a fantastic photo op and showcases Oklahoma nature with a western flare.

An exterior security camera is installed at the front door and records movement and sound for property safety- no cameras inside.

The Painted Cabin is super cute and in the perfect spot of far enough out of the city but close enough to get to attractions. The hosts are super attentive and have made the property one of a kind. My son really enjoyed the e cowboy pool they just installed as well.

The tiny house was adorable. Our family of 5 fit comfortably. The hammocks and farm pool were cute and fun. It was clean, and my still wants to know what the fragrance in the bathroom was so that she can buy her own. We regret that our trip was so short, and we would certainly stay here again.

Amazing retreat!

Staying here was certainly a treat! Everything was spotless and extremely welcoming! The attention to detail was top notch. There was a slight issue with the keypad, but host had excellent communication, provided a key, and had the electric keypad fixed immediately. This experience makes me want to come back again for a weekend getaway. If you are wanting to connect to nature and feel pampered, this is your place! You won't be disappointed for choosing the painted cabin.

Chez ZigZag is gorgeous! The views are fantastic. We walked down the zigzag stairs to downtown- a grocery store is right at the bottom of the steps and the ferry to Victoria is an easy 10 minute walk. If you put “James View Point” into your phone you’ll have no problem finding this place. High end everything- they have a clear geodesic dome in their yard/garden as an extra living room. We met the owner and he was very helpful and friendly. We had a fantastic time. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Adorable tiny house in the woods

We absolutely loved our stay at the Painted Cabin. It is super clean and very well maintained. It’s also a true tiny house! Everything we needed was provided and so much more. Two of the bedrooms are crawl in lofts but that was not a problem for us. The twin bed is in a small space below the a/c so definitely cooler than the other spaces. Not a problem but good to know. We loved our time here and will definitely be back next time we are in Guthrie.

Loved the Painted Cabin. Location was perfect for visiting our family. The outdoor space is perfect for our family to gather and enjoy outdoor time, especially with the outdoor games, plenty of seating and the hammocks. Tami was a great host and made sure we were well cared for and had all we needed. The front porch was wonderful for the early mornings, drinking coffee and reading my Bible while listening to the birds.The only down side to the cabin, it is not the best space for tall people. My husband and son are both over 6' and struggled with some of the tighter space. But it wouldn't prevent us from coming back, just something to keep in mind for tall people.

This is an open floor plan cabin much like a Tiny Home we pride ourselves on efficiency, functionality and a unique experience for guests to enjoy. Just because it's small doesn't mean it's not packed w your comfort in mind. We have many of the best amenities and special touches that surprise and delight!
