- Lemon Tree House: Modern, spacious, and light-filled. It consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen, living area with a large screen cable TV and a breath-taking river view.

- Olive Tree House: An intimate retreat for those wanting extra quiet. It consists of a large bedroom, spacious full bathroom, full kitchen, living area, cable TV and an equally stunning view.

Perched on a dramatic hillside just 55 minutes from Porto, The Little Vineyard is a luxury retreat that offers total privacy in the heart of the Douro Valley—a region recognised by UNESCO for its 2,000 years of winemaking history. Rebuilt in 2024, this private property sits 100 meters above the riverbanks, offering front-row seats to the iconic "Rabelo" boats and river cruises passing through your backyard.

You aren't just visiting the Douro; you are living in it. Wander through your own 1,000m² boutique vineyard where we craft our own "Vinho Verde" (Green Wine). Experience the "terroir" firsthand, breathe the clean valley air, and enjoy 360-degree views of the terraced hills and the Douro river that have made this region world-famous.

Our stay was outstanding. Gilbert and Elle met us and made us feel very welcome. It was the perfect place to relax and tour Douro Valley. We are 2 couples traveling together and having the 2 houses was ideal. Pool was wonderful. Made our trip very memorable. Thank you.

Everything was perfect at the property.The hosts had thought of all the equipment you might need for self catering as well as providing little extras like soap and pool towels.It was ideal for my family of 4 adults.The view is amazing and it's so peaceful.There was a heatwave while we stayed and quite a lot of wind, so we were grateful for the air conditioning!We visited Amarante and Guimaraes and drove along the valley to Peso da Regua.The only local restaurant we visited was PenaCurva which caters for vegetarians and vegans.Our hosts were very friendly and provided a welcome basket.Thanks for a lovely stay at the Little Vineyard.

The Little Vineyard surpassed all our expectations. A beautiful property with an amazing view. Gilbert and Elle are fantastic hosts and have obviously put a lot of thought into design and comfort. We loved the pool and used the BBQ every night. We wanted a relaxing family holiday and that is what we enjoyed. There are some lovely little coffee and cake places within a 10 minute drive and a very nice restaurant about 15 minutes away. Thank you so much for a great holiday.

My husband and I stayed here for our fifth anniversary and had the most wonderful experience. Gilbert and Elle welcomed us so warmly to their beautiful property. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the view was even more breathtaking than we imagined. The home itself was spotless, thoughtfully designed, and had such a cozy, welcoming feel—it truly made our celebration special. Gilbert went above and beyond by sharing local treats and giving us great tips on where to go and what to see. We will definitely be coming back!

After some busy days in Porto, we stayed here with our three teenagers and fully enjoyed this quit and peaceful place, the beautiful, comfortable house and the nice pool. The view of the Douro River from every corner of the property is simply breathtaking and makes the stay truly worthwhile. But also the olive and lemon trees in the garden added to the charm. Moreover, Elle and Gilbert are very warm and friendly hosts, and we were welcomed by all kinds of local treats. They were also very helpful in giving all kinds of recommendations about the area and restaurants. During our stay, we went hiking, enjoyed a wine tasting, and spent plenty of time relaxing by the pool while soaking in the scenery. It was the perfect place to unwind and reconnect as a family.

Gilbert and Elle have built a beautiful villa in a truly stunning setting overlooking the Douro River. The view is spectacular from every vantage (I'm not sure pictures can do it justice), and the homes are very well appointed, with clear attention to detail in its design and construction. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the linens are perfect, adding to the overall sense of comfort and care. With the two separate homes (Lemon Tree house up top and Olive Tree house below), its perfect for two to three couples.The pool is not heated, but the Douro gets warm in the summer, so its refreshing.Gilbert and Elle are wonderful, caring owners who make sure you have everything you need. They clearly take great pride in the property, and it shows throughout the entire stay.Small tips: visit Talho O Arouques, the butcher at the top of the hill, if you want great steaks. There is also a small mercado right across the street where you can pick up groceries without having to drive up to the supermercado. Also, be sure to check out the small flowering tree just after the gate - its a hub of activity for bees. The drive to Pinhao is beautiful - take the fast route the way there (long tunnel, impressive bridge, and scenic drive down to the town through sprawling vineyards) and the slow route (N222) on the way back along the river.We had a wonderful stay and hope to return another day.

La meilleure maison (sur 4) de notre séjour Si vous cherchez le calme, le silence (à « l’exception » du passage des bateaux de croisière qui ponctuent votre journée) alors vous êtes au bon endroit.La vue depuis n’importe quel endroit, n’importe quelle pièce vous laisse juste sans voix. Parfaitement meublée et équipée (jusqu’au serviettes de toilette d’une telle épaisseur !!!), d’une parfaite propreté, si vous prévoyez bien les courses vous n’aurez, comme nous, plus du tout envie de bouger.Les 2 «maisons » permettent à chacun d’avoir son minimum d’indépendance et d’intimité tout en étant ensemble.Cerise sur le gâteau l’accueil, la disponibilité et la gentille de Gilbert et Elle n’a aucun égal.Bref : THE PLACE TO BE sur le Douro pour des vacances reposantes

L'endroit idéal pour découvrir le nord du Portugal. A moins d'une heure de porto braga guimarz amarante et villa real .
